Paul introduced Maxwell during the "Get Back" sessions in January 1968. Paul, George (who plays bass guitar) and Ringo returned to the song in July. (9th, 10th and 11th). It was John's first time back in the studio after he and Yoko were hospitalized after being in a serious car accident) in Scotland on 1 July. Yoko requested a double bed be delivered to the studio so she could stay close to John. The bed and an overhead microphone were set up for her, much to the chagrin of the other Beatles and studio staff.. Paul overdubbed the Moog synthesizer bits while Mal Evans bang banged an anvil. Paul's wish to have Maxwell be their next single was shot down quite effusively by his bandmates. Dark humor indeed JAYY. That was a great reaction. RNB

McCartney had started writing this during their excursion to India, and he had intended this for "The White Album", but they didn't have the time to record it during those sessions. They then rehearsed it some more during the "Get Back" sessions which ultimately became the "Let it Be" album, but they didn't actually properly record it until the "Abbey Road" album, which is where it finally appeared.

If that happened, the cardinal camerlengo verified the pope's death by tapping the pope’s head with a silver hammer while calling out his baptismal name three times; when receiving no response, he pronounced the pope’s death.
