- Built between 1852-1858, Buchanan Castle was originally a home for the 4th Duke of Montrose and his family, designed and built in the Scottish Baronial style. In the 1930's the Castle was used as a hotel but later requisitioned during WW2, even housing Rudolph Hess as a patient before he was later transferred to Spandau Prison. After being used by the Army as an education centre, the roof was later removed to avoid paying taxes and the building generally fell into disrepair. It remains a Catergory B listed building and considered a 'building at risk'.
All footage was captured using a DJU Air 3 drone and a GoPro Hero 11. Footage edited using CapCut.
Lovely footage and photos! Thanks for sharing
Love the castle and all the different perspectives! Really cool footage. I love all the green crawling on the castle walls. New sub! Cheers!
What a beautiful castle. Great mixture of shots
Thanks, really appreciate it.
Lovely!

Que pasada de castillo, me ha encantado como lo sobrevuela y la vegetación que se lo esta comiendo. Una pasada. Nos vemos pronto
Thank you, glad you liked it and thanks for your kind comment.
This castle looks impressive even today. It has a surprisingly short story for how it looks 👍
I know, it's amazing how relatively young it is and hows quickly it's got into it's present condition.
Just a little overgrown. Cool place though!!! 👍👍👍
I know, it's such a shame it's been abandoned.
Great footage mate nicely done
Cheers mate, much appreciated.

Spooky I just uploaded the same 3 days ago. Good flight and ground shots
I'd filmed there last year but with my smaller drone but kept getting chased by crows. This was a long overdue return.
@TheOldDrone it really is a cool place to fly and explore
@@eyeintheskydrone4k definately. I wanted to get more shots inside but my GoPro gimbal was playing up. I;ve got a few more places on my list over the next little while.
Very nice work❤
@@AboveandbeyondDRONEscotland thanks and I've subbed you back too.
@@TheOldDroneI love watching different videos to learn from them ❤
@AboveandbeyondDRONEscotland definitely the best way, I've learned loads from watching other people's videos and some of the drone tutorials out there.
