    Love it. What a great sounding organ! And it sounds unusually great when it gets dense. Like, a lot of synths nowadays seems to be having problem mixing polyphony in a way that makes sense. This sounds very natural as the polyphony goes high.

    • @TheCALMInstitute
      @TheCALMInstitute 9 лет назад +1

      cuckoomusic that's a really good point. I think the huge recent expansion of new synths has forced a lot of aggressive cost-cutting. It makes a korg triton feel like a muscle car.

    Lol.. I keep listening to this over and over again :) Surprisingly, I find this one the most "true to what it is", and the most compelling of the four new Reface Yamaha mini keyboards. I did absolutely not expect that.

      Now, two years later, do you still feel the same way about the YC? I ended up purchasing the CP and the YC. As you stated above, it seems like these two are quite true to their specific instrument. I think a lot of people will be mad they missed out on these when they're gone.

      @@pcuimac I just ordered both, the CP had to come from overseas but the YC was in country, so I should have it within days, and that's the one I'm most excited about. The Lesliie simulation alone has me weak at the knees. I've only ever played them in music shops, in the early 70s, when the prospect of having access to one was about as plausble as having a ski run with Jean Claude Killy.

    I own 2 original YC series organs, and I absolutely love the idea of bringing them back, even in a digital context, but I can't do shit with 3 octaves of mini-keys. Come on Yamaha! Make a 5 or 6 octave full size version of this and I'm sold!

    Is there a looper, too? If not.
    Why does not Yamaha licence a proper looper technology from Phil Tipping? Sequetron by Phil Tipping is a phenomenal looper, so contact Phil and check if you can license this original technology? All reface users who do not want to wait for Yamaha licensing or adding a powerful looper into reface, simply check Sequetron by Phil Tipping. It can force to scale, chords, held notes and much more, there is nothing like it I know. Vangelis and Tangerine Dreamers will love it.

      @RhombusLabs 9 лет назад +13

      Vince Watson "you dont play organ unless your a serious player" I don't understand how you came to this conclusion. Maybe someone wants to learn the keyboard but they prefer organ sounds over piano sounds. You seem to believe there's only one kind of musician when in fact everyone is a musician. The Casiotones of the 1980s were a hit for a reason, meditate on the truth of this.

    • @vincewatson_official
      @vincewatson_official 9 лет назад +1

      Rhombus Labs My point was that Organ's in 2015 are generally played by proper keyboard musicians or sessions players. Perhaps your confusing 1980's new with 2015's. If you honestly believe any young aspiring musicians who have been brought up with iPads, are going to spend the paper round savings on this instead of something else i.e Omnisphere 2 (WHICH IS CHEAPER)...then good luck with your meditations, you might be there a while looking for the truths you seek thats for sure.

    Horrible, cheesy sounding organ, this. I'm not looking forward to hearing these all over the place - I hope that doesn't happen. The drawbars are nice, and attracted me until I heard the thing. Odd no-one ever seems to ask if you can use it as a two manual organ when you plug your full-size keyboard in via MIDI. Surely they've thought of that - plugging two keyboards in and allocating a different sound to each? If not, you're better getting an old organ off ebay for £20 or less, which is what I did. Mine's got bass pedals, too, which they don't seem to have thought of either.

    • @therealsweep1
      @therealsweep1 7 лет назад

      Well, I suppose if you have one of these Reface things, portability is an advantage when everyone gets sick of hearing it. ;) For portable organ sounds, though, I'd use a Casio CTK900 - full sized five octave keyboard, but very light, and excellent organ sounds with the option of editable parameters.
