Some say he once won the golden ticket to visit the Akai factory and is now the heir to the business. Some say a girl once asked to see his organ and he pulled out his Hammond. All we know is, he's called ....Jack
I really love my YC-CP-DX-CS so much that full size keys on controllers or the real deal now feel kinda creepy and a massive waste of space and time. I put your Yamaha Reface Guitar Keytar Strap Attachment on one and it is so perfect. A hand grip would be a natural extension to control modulation and such so I may build one and program an ARM M0+ 8-pin MCU to talk to MIDI. Great demo!
Thank you so so so very much! I am looking at buying one of these and your real-life demo of these units is outstanding. This is one of my favorite RUclips channels.
Cameron Crowley I just called my local guitar center and they sell the YC For close to $400. And actuality, it's $347.95 which is not bad. Personally, I would really like the CP, or the YC.
I've got both the YC and the CP (electric piano/clav) from this series. They're both bloody brilliant! Would've bought all 4 if I didn't have enough synths aleady. A larger midi keyboard is a must though.
Could you recommend any good MIDI Controller for those bad-boys ? :) Especially MIDI controller with good semi-weighted keybed ? Not so easy to find one
Corners are right now my favourite videos. Hammonds got something very hard to explain with words. They are sooooooooooo cool and funky! Like always very good job Mian. PS. Yes I wrote MIAN on purpose. Miaaaan.
amazing........try dragging an old organ to a gig and there is always a lot of dust with old organs....i love them and yes you can get them for free but this is great for the musician who isnt that committed to having this bulky monster in the room...alot of us live in apartments...so this is very functional........
The YC is for organ sounds (Green Onions by Booker T. and the MGs). When you say "suitcase piano" I think of the Fender Rhodes Mk1/Mk2 or a Wurlitzer model 200A etc. The YC does not do those sounds. The Reface CP does the electric piano sounds
You can't quite compare this with the rich tones of a DX7 - the DX7 had 6 operators. This jobbie is more akin to the DX9 or the TX81Z rackmount, with their 4 operators apiece. Loving your style tho, Mr Jack!
Yep. I was about to say something similar. They did add feedback on all four operators though, instead of the usual one per algorithm... but the TX81Z had different waveforms to choose from, which I don't think this does, so it's not quite either, but it's got to be closer to the pre-existing 4 op ones than a DX7.
I'd like to see jack with maybe one of the pedal show boy stalking about using stomp boxes with synths: which work well or less well etc, as something being good on guitar doesn't necessarily mean IR will be good for synth, and some piece of shit behringer might sound just the ticket.
For those who are still wondering, I read the A setting is based on an old Roland organ. Yamaha didn't want to advertise with their main competitor's product so visible, but that retro Roland sound was still desirable enough to include it here.
Hey - it's a free country man. I had a DX reface, and a DX21 - loved 'em both, but never did find an online tutorial that did it - for me at least. Folks have tried, but I think in the end it's just plain hard. It's like golf - looks kinda easy, but is hella hard...
16:38 that's proper FM, where you can see it, but don't understand it.
6:31 we've gone instant mario!
>plays under the sea from the little mermaid
lol. Yeah...
Plus the sound isn't much like Mario either. If that's what you're after, you should be playing with a CS...
Chunky pulse waves..
Theres no stopping jack when he gets his hands on your organ
They should make a sounds like for keyboards. That'd be cool.
This is such a good idea!
seriously this
hell yeah. genius!
Fuuuck. You get it. This guy gets it.
FYI Jack just killed it. More from him please and thank you

Hahahah this guy 😂 lmao, he's a diamond. Best thing to watch on RUclips, so pure and joyful
My understanding is: "A" for the Japanese Acetone Organ. "Y" for Yamaha's own line of combo organs, the YC-30 and YC-45.

I could listen to Jack play and banter for hours on end. Good stuff!

I bought my yc from andertons a year ago shortly after this video was put up 🤘🏼 pushed me over the edge
If these had MIDI In it would be crazy to connect bigger keyboards and have an awesome sound on a budget!!
They do have midi in :)
@@AmundBlixAaeng And out. The dongle that comes together split the two.
thank you for thee best review of the YC!
00:35 "get my hands around his organ of choice" 😂😂😂 dead
Damn! That organ sounds great. These are pretty decent priced!

Maximum length, I pissed myself at that segment. Good demo. Carry on Keyboards.

How cool is this guy. Great vibes!!
That Hammond, with the Laney Rrotosound, shot me right back to 1970. £330.00 for the YC, well worth it just for that sound.
Thank you Jack.

The YC sound is as sexy as a keyboard can ever get to Hendrix Voodoo Child
The RC is so fun it's probably illegal.
Innit Aii! Shout out to the Staines Massive, respec.

Nice Review from my man Money Boy.
Damn you're good on the mini keys ha
Booyakasha bro.
I don't have any organs, nor do I play the keyboard but this was really fun to watch! Thanks very much!
17:47 and i thought he was going to play "a whole new world"... he must be into Disney (my thought)
Like this dudes energy
Great sounds on the Reface DX Synth but I can hear it buzzing quite loudly... is that a problem with the keyboard?
Nice chops, for Ali G!
Whats with the noise?
Buzz feedback??
C'mon take care of your ground loop 😥.
Is the YC like the stage suitcase pianos? Like on 'I heard it in the grapevine'

@@JamesDriver40 Cool thanks.
I’ve tugged and pulled my organ but it still doesn’t sound like this....

I think he’s a DIY merchant when it comes to organs !
Its sad that everywhere is out of stock on all the Yamaha Reface Pianos

Can you run guitar pedals through this? Like reverb, overdrive and that stuff
Should be able to, yes.

I like maximum length on my organ
and now play fly like an eagle
I might get one, just to make some more organ jokes.
When Jack was young
You know FM synthesis is pretty easy to understand.
LOLZ. Go ahead then Russell...
A. Name shall I do a tutorial on my channel?

Do you know how much it cost that geezer to buy the synths for tubular bells?
He is gonna be real pissed when he sees this..boom yakasha!
