1:25 I bet people don’t know that cutting the branches out of the tree actually help make the tree last. Too many branches on trees can split the tree in half from windy days.
For many trees it’s beneficial to cut out some branches. In winter. It helps with windload and also the tree has less branches to support/ bloom in spring. So for example for fruit trees you will get more fruit
After watching the kukri video last, I suggested the Gaffi stick. I knew you guys could do it. A true weapon that will garnish awe and respect for anyone who uses it amidst the Dune Sea and beyond. The Stormtroopers it is used against will never know what hit them.
BEST Man At Arms: Reforged episode in years. Time to make Flaming Swordmans sword from Yu-Gi-Oh!, The Sword of Tengu & the Sword of Heroes from the Kung Fu Panda movies. ❤
Jaster Rogue: Desert Seeker (Rogue Galaxy) Riku: Keyblade Way to Dawn (kingdom hearts 2) Dai: Dai's Sword (Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken) if you can't make everyone on the list just do one or two on the list. I thank you and your team very much I wish you much success and great achievements
Those are some high quality Mandalorian armors you guys put up, that Gaffi stick was a very nice build. I love it! Rick did an EXCELLENT job making a Gaffi stick of his own version. Edit: Could you guys possibly build the Mandalorian Darksaber? That would be awesome.
The weapon (the club end anyway) is taken from Fijian culture and is called a Totokia. i love the inclusion of a pasifika weapon in star wars but i do wish more people recognized that a gaffi stick comes from a very real culture, especially as weapons like totokia are considered tapu/spiritually charged
The Gaffi was literally whatever the Tuskens could scavenge to create a weapon. Mostly parts of old speeders or transports. cooling fins became maces random metal became spears. no two were ever the same. it was also the weapon to fight the Krayt Dragon while the pearl is a lightsaber crystal if done correctly.
@@kisham Well, that concept was firmly established in the "Knights of the Old Republic" games back in 2003, and was even hinted at in the original novelisation of ANH. In the KOTOR games, at least, Tatooine was basically bombed into glass by the Rakata as punishment for the native Kumumgah rising up against them, and that turned the planet into a desert. Over the millennia, the Kumumgah split into two different peoples: the Tuskens and the Jawas.
@@kisham By my understanding the planet was completely different at one time but because it was so heavily mined it became a desert planet. Kind of how much of Egypt used to be.
Omg both of you are right, forgot about Kotor and it´s true it´s metioned, forgive me. I only remembered the old canon when Old Republic settlers tried to mine Tatooine but the metals were magnetized beyond use and the sand crawlers were left behind and repurposed by the jawas, and those miners turned into the tusken eventually. I guess this is not canon anymore.
I like the approach taken while making this Gaffi Stick. I can imagine Tusken Raiders making their own sticks and other weapons, so each one's going to look slightly different.
@@wbond6692 of everything from the new Mando lore, that's the only thing I really hate. Beskar swords or "bes'kad" were a classic Mandalorian weapon, literally their answer to the lightsaber. Hopefully that's just another weird cult thing like "no removing your helmet" and not a reflection of Canon Mandalorian history now.
16:43 I'm imagining a teenage Tusken getting all *kinds* of crap from their friends because they caught their Gaderffi-in-progress on fire trying to harden it
I would've thought the club end would have a point, but it all still looks amazing! The Mandos at the end looked great as well. I love woodworking so to see some carving and shaping done on the walnut was a huge bonus. Well done team!
For your next build I think it would be cool to see Excalibur from TrollHunters:Rise of the Titans. That or Jim's Daylight Sword from TrollHunters: Takes of Arcadia.
THIS IS SO GOOD- gosh I am obsessed with those videos Would be cool if you guys ever did Undertaker’s death scythe from Black Butler- the design is so cool
I had started to carve my own Gaffi stick back when the show came out, but I've since dropped the project and moved on to other things. Thanks for getting me inspired again!
Out-filthyword-STANDing! This nifty departure from the usual bladed weapons makes me wonder -- might Skeletor's Havoc Staff be fun to try your hand at...?
For several times since following this series, I'm requesting this one: Forging Rangiku Matsumoto's katana blade (the Haineko) from "Bleach"... Greetings from the Philippines!
I want to make a Gaffi stick of my own. Step 1: Have a lizard go into my brain so that I can have a trip to find a tree branch. What's that? I can't do that. Well give me a tonne of drugs and throw me into a forest
Just checked to see if there were any new videos a few days ago. Looks like I was a bit early and you guys were working hard to bring us a legendary weapon. :)
C'mon guys. PLEASE make Typhoon Swell from Samurai Champloo. It's a beautiful katana and I think you could do more authentic Japanese forging. I've been asking for years.
Can you guys please forge the Sword of Aeons from Fable? I've been asking for years. Or at least, since that era is long past now, make some crazy weapons from Elden Ring next! Cheers
For awhile I stopped watching after Mat and Ilya left. The new crew is good too. Just different. I still say Kerry has the best narration voice. I’m glad I came back.
@@AweMe I bet this one is going on the "It's cool but the amount of work it would take is unreasonable" list. Which is too bad, we don't get too many big magic staffs around here.
i've got an idea what if you guys make the Jetsream Sam's sword the "Murasama" from Metal gear rising (unless if you guys already did it) [Edit: i meant Katana not sword]
Impressive craftsmanship indeed, absolutely nails it. I’m not sure if you’ve done these before, but I’ve got some interesting suggestions that might peak your interest, or even suggested by others. - Terra Blade (Terraria) - Night’s Edge (Terraria) - Murasama (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) - Bloodlust (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) - Fire Demon (Pixel Gun 3D) - Blades of Corruption (Gacha World) - The Horseless Headless Horsemann’s Headtaker (Team Fortress 2) - The Eyelander (Team Fortress 2) - Survival Knife/Thermo blade (Subnautica) - Trident (Minecraft) - The Yamato (Devil May Cry 5)
Maybe for the next challenge the crew can build the 3 Axes Eivor used in Assassins Creed Valhalla, 2 Detailed small Axes and the long handled battle Axe. Would be interesting to see three smiths Again building 3 different style Axes.
Outstanding craftsmanship, amazing skillsets displayed. Respectfully, respectfully, the amount of mass in the tail portion would make this weapon slow and dead in the hands. Gorgeous replica but balanced like a boat anchor.
I got a suggestion for something to build : A tool used by the Tusken Raiders to build their Gaffi Sticks In the Book of Boba Fett and a real world survival/brush clearing tool that dates back to WWII: Knife, LC-14-B aka The Woodsmans pal. It was standard issue by U.S. Army for years in air-crew survival kits, in the Pacific Theater, and a combat manual was made for it. It's the tool that's used to clear the limbs off of the stick that Boba Fett brings back. The Woodsmans pal is still available today, but I think it would be interesting to see what the Stagmer Brothers could do with it...
More forging and custom work from the guys at BKS!
Still waiting for you guys to make the Glaive from Krull. You made a working chainsword, you have the skills to make the Glaive!
They did that off camera in post production.
what will you make next?
Request: Sword of Fiery Cataclysm, Kaijudo.
Request: Calabrass, Zak Storm.
It’s not a real Gaffi Stick unless you have a lizard climb into your brain and make you trip balls for a week before you find your branch
How do you know that part wasn't cut for time? 🤪
So this is just sparkling pole arm?
Lmao
FENNEC! I’m tripping on 15 grams of lizard, and it’s making that Sandussy look really noice!
I was tripping balls a month ago. I brought my bearded dragon, so there was actually a lizard involved.
As someone who has worked with wood previously I can imagine how many hours went into this build not to mention all the forging
Kyrimorut Clan represent! Oya, ner vode!
Damn right!!
I never realized just how satisfying watching someone carving wood rather primal huh?👍😁❤️
You should see me work on bone carvings. All I do is pacific island art
If only the actual show was as cool as this episode of Man at Arms Reforged.

Dude! Now I'm thinking of a dark saber with a Damascus patterned metal blade. That sounds really cool.
@@VastDivide I absolutely agree! Nice thinking man!
Nice!
I know it's not a sword or anything, but I think that Obi-Wan's butchering knife in the new series is really neat, you could do that next?

Also before TBOBF retconned the concept, young tuskens had to get the scrap and assemble de gaffi themselves as part of their adulthood initiation.
Also no wood whatsoever, this thing of "Tatooine used to be a paradise" is too much a cliche and doesn´t fit with the tusken theme.

I don’t know if it was mentioned but the Gaffi stick was partially based on a weapon from the Fijian people, the Totokia
That’ll crack some heads
I would love to see the beskar spear
Truly amazing 💯🎯💯🎯
You guys should make the mandalorians spear staff next! And since they used damascus as bescar from the set you should make it out of it ;)
That weapon should not have been made. Beskar is only to be used as armor and not a weapon to defeat the armor.

Should make a Mandelorian helmet with you guys personal design. Something clean.
You should make General Kai’s Jade blades from Kung Fu panda 3, thought it might be a cool build to see

It's a Fijian Totokia...in space. I love it when irl weapons make it into scifi.

I love Iliad but good job Kevin on shaping out the point made it look very easy.
Solid content, thxs for sharing!
The Gaffi stick? Ever since I saw Boba Fetts new weapon, I'm really curious about it. And this is worth watching it. Keep up a good work Man at Arms
Been awhile since I watched but it’s cool to see Rick helming a project
I believe this would be the envy of every Tusken Raider you meet.
You should try making Caliburn from Sonic and the Black Knight for the Wii.
i know its supposed to look like one of the wooden maces except its made of metal, but im not gonna lie it looks like a car part.
The Tuscans use whatever things they can find which likely includes speeder parts, so, not far off 😉
Love to see the Swords of the Cross from the Dresden Files
okay, we've seen wood, metal... lets really give you a challenge-Fremen Crysknife, from Dune series...
Have at!
That stick has a strangely primeval feel to it
Please make gorr the god butcher's sword from thor love and thunder, also amazing video like always.

Those Mandalorian armours look great!
I think so too!
When I'm gonna blacksmith I'm gonna make my own gaffie stick of my own also I love this weapon so much
It's more of a welding and fabrication project than a forging one. If you have a welder and some cutting and grinding tools you could make a sweet one
Can you guys please forge the Sword of Aeons from Fable? I've been asking for years. Or at least, since that era is long past now, make some crazy weapons from Elden Ring next! Cheers
Imagine getting a ❤ from AWE me
Drew's sword cane from Dislyte would be an epic build
Make Indian swords, a standard Talwar and a Firangi, with ornamentations

Rick is wearing the same boba Fett shirt I have
Great minds think alike!
that fluted spike on the end is "eh" the section set into the stick looked way cooler, and would punch into flesh much easier.
