the dead friends one hit hard. when i was a kid i played the game a ton with my cousin, he was the one who got me into it. he tragically passed away very young in 2020. always makes me sad to see that minion in place of his character in my friends list. i always wished KI would keep the character models in the friends list no matter how long its been since they logged on but i'm sure theres a reason for it

Also there are a lot of parts that are lowkey dark, when you beat Khrokotep you straight up kill him because you later meet his ghost who assists you in the next part of Krotopia but what's more disturbing is after killing him you get a housing item drop to mount his taxiderm head on your wall..

Ahhh the good old days where we’d stand in the commons and say “I need a girl” or “I need a boy”, and then you’d get a partner. Then if you got married and “had children” you’d go to the commons and put out an application for a child 😭😭 So incredibly cringe but wow, this game was amazing and had such a great community.

I'm Polish for context. Baba Yaga in the mythology stories I've heard; kidnaps misbehaving children, eats/cooks babies, but also can help you if you are benevolent. Also, I agree that Khrysalis is completely the darkest world. It reminds me very much of WWII. There are a lot of parallels between them. It's terrifying but makes for good story.

Hey that's me at 50:17 !! Some context for that tweet, I never did the exploit, was only mocking how people who did got only a temporary suspension and nothing more. At the end of the day it was KI's fault for allowing all of that to unfold and those second chance rerolls costed crowns which is probably why they didn't permanently ban players who did it. ANOTHER EXCELLENT ICEBERG, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS TYPE OF CONTENT! Will be waiting for part 3!!

On squatting, you can see other players doing it. Many many years ago I used to ask teammates how they do it and they didn't even know they were squatting.
1:21:20 the second Old Grizzleheim runic alphabet on Legends of the Spiral is actually wrong. A player named Bowl of Wyrms does a ton of Spiral language stuff, and they figured out that Old Grizzleheim uses capital and lowercase letters. The translator tool only has 5 capital letters instead of the full alphabet, which is on Bowl of Wyrms’ website
It's been so long since I logged onto my original account for this game, after Wizard101 went on Steam I primarily began playing over there again when i picked it up again. I'm Twenty Two now, however when I first started playing i was maybe like Eight or Nine, not too sure on the age. But I DO still have the Frontier Dragon Mount and the Auric Dragon Statue on my old account, not only this but I still have the Selena Gomez Statue and Portrait from when there was that promotional stunt back in the day, oh man, such good times.
This video is a gem for W101 community. I retired long ago from game (like 4/5 years ago) I don't want come back because I fell the game is become really pay to win(especially the pvp part with the spellement thing which I have enjoy the most while I played back on the days),but I still enjoy watch some content from yt about this game and I have aquired ton of informations and things that I don't even know before from this game. So ty for the work to find all of this, you for sure deserve something by the game for the video!!!

Hi! I'm a friend of AnonW101DiskBuyer and I showed this to them. Of course, they since made the disk public like you saw in the Reddit post. They really appreciated seeing it. Also, on the thought of Pokémon, interestingly, the chat filter permits people to mention the names of 3 Pokémon, Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam. I could buy Alakazam being a coincidence, since, well, this IS a game about magic and people could say something like that when they use a spell or something. Abra and Kadabra though, I just don't find it that likely to be a coincidence. I haven't tried other Pokémon names (and there's literally over 1000 now, I don't have the time or resources to try every single name, that's just something I did for fun). Also also, another thing I know I mentioned on Reddit, but if you do a part 3, I'd love to see how you cover the friendly players that serve as teleport pads, like Tabitha Winterheart in the Bazaar, Samantha in the Pet Pavilion, Kane Rainbowbane in the Drains (near the Abandoned House instance), Brittany Soulmender near the potion vendor, and so on.

Abra and Kadabra are named after the Abracadabra spell magicians used in their acts. Or maybe it was a single magician that popularized the phrase, I'm not sure. That would explain their specific names being included in the white list.

@@Gladrocker For the record, Acampi Reedfist was already undead. The Wizard didn't kill him - they actually referenced that in the quest. He tells the Wizard "You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands... oh, wait." Edit: It's worth noting that the Wizard has canonically killed people in the past. Malisstaire specifically comes to mind. Before that, there's Krokhotep.
I watched part 1 when it first came out, I just got this video on my recommended. I enjoyed watching this video just as much as the first . I hope you make a part 3. I’ve been playing the game for over 10 years now and I’m fascinated about the stuff you covered in the video from before my time and even afterwards that I wasn’t aware of. My dad and older brother played the game the year it came out, so I definitely log on to their account to see if they have any rare old stuff. Keep up the good work, I’ll look forward to a part 3 video if it ever comes.

1:50:49 The whole of Khrysalis is absolutely metal as fuck. It's worth noting too that in part 1 there's a companion that follows you around for the first half, Dyvim Whitehart, who later gets attacked and thrown out of a window by one of the queen bee's minions in arguably one of the most violent and unexpected cutscenes I've seen in this game, followed by a quest involving you fending off his dying body on the ground from an onslaught of more wasps. A surprisingly brutal and tense sequence of events in a game that for the most part presents itself as a light-hearted kids wizard adventure game but I'm honestly all for it. I instantly fell in love with the general atmosphere of Khrysalis primarily for how different it felt from the rest of the 2nd arc in terms of its tone and stakes, and even artistically it remains as my favorite world in the game. Outside of that I was also surprised to see that you didn't mention in either video of multiple quest names throughout the game ALSO being references to song names. The most notable imo being the Azteca quests "The Hand That Feeds," "With Teeth," and "Underneath It All," two of them being references to the band Nine Inch Nails' 2005 album With Teeth, and the third being a reference to a song off of their 1999 album The Fragile. Would have been a fun little addition to see but, either way, this was a fantastic video and somewhat of a trip down memory lane for me too as someone who has been playing this game on and off since 2010/2011. I'm elated to see wiz's audience for the most part grow up with the game itself, resulting in us getting quality wiz content like this in 2024.

I imagine the ghost sigils were some king of rudimentary early solution to solo instances. The fact that two people get split up makes me feel more like that's the case.
The Burnzilla pet also gave +5% resist back in like 2009 I believe. It came just like the Defender pig but with a Firezilla card. It was only obtained through Best Buys 20$ card, and like the Defender pig, would change (sometimes you'd get a Firezilla, hotzilla, etc.) I had this pet so that's how I know about it lol. This was an awesome video!
@@GladrockerIf you look up on the Wizard101 forums, a person vaguely mentions their Burnzilla +5% pet and how they got it. The post is from like 2010 and it's called "Leveling my Burnzilla to 9%" or something. But the pet just came with the talent like the defender pig way before training

Interestingly enough, there’s a quest in Azteca where you literally kill one of the bosses. It’s called “Cold Dead Hands”. The dialogue after winning the basically says you’ll have to pry a badge from the enemy’s dead hands, and there lies a dinosaur corpse. Thought it was an interesting observation after watching the Khrysalis “Kill” badge section.
I just found you and binged this video and part 1 I also ended up finding a storm beetle in my bank that was ancient, it made me sad because my first wiz I ever made was a storm and now that I’m 170 I wanna get it to mega/ultra and have fun and catch up :)

surprised people had a problem with roleplaying calling themselves omnipotent yet are fine with roleplaying as wizard, using magic and summoning monsters which is also biblically condemned.. And there's even a part in Mooshu where you have to show reverence to the Muddha the equivelent of the Buddha

I started playing wizard101 back in 2010-2011 when I was 7-8 years old with my friends, but I never got a membership since I didn't even think about asking my parents to give me money for a game (looking back at it Im sure they would have gave it to me). This game became such a core memory to me, then about 2 years ago, I made a new account (and found my old one😅) got a membership and finished the game. It was such a wild ride and even at 18 years old I was just as excited to hop on the game as I was when I was a kid. The community is great, since it's mostly people in their 20's now, very supportive and ready to help you quest, pvp or just hang around. I made friends, I learned a lot about the meta, gear, pet hatching, seen the worlds I never got to see as a non member kid, and healed my heart😅. Much love to y'all!

Your last iceberg a year ago inspired to me to get back on wiz after a 8 year break. (Started in ‘09) Glad to see another iceberg. I got the storm beetle, Selena, commemorative statue, and can access the celestia prequest still. I guess I sold my pioneer mount cause I can’t find it 😢. And I completely forgot about the treant transformation 😂
Meowdy! You requested I speak, and thus I must... I'm a player who started mid-2009 (checked my account and it says July 2, 2009, exactly) and have been playing on and off for years. I have the storm beetle and while I would be eligible for many, many, many anniversary rewards... I always miss them! I think my biggest issue with the anniversaries is not being able to claim stuff when the next one rolls around that you've earned in the last ones. :/ I digress! I have a massive fantasy palace (I actually still have the physical card!) and I was one of those party renters lol. I prided myself on a really well decorated castle and I'd see a hundred or so wizards running around it and it was my favorite as a kid. I enjoy decorating in games to this day because of it! I haven't finished the vid yet (god, I've only just begun) but if I see anything else you mention that I have/have done, I'll make sure to edit my comment lol. Oh and that obsidian chest quest SUCKED dude. I'm so happy they fixed it. :'D

Ahhh the good old days where we’d stand in the commons and say “I need a girl” or “I need a boy”, and then you’d get a partner. Then if you got married and “had children” you’d go to the commons and put out an application for a child 😭😭 So incredibly cringe but wow, this game was amazing and had such a great community.

Also, I agree that Khrysalis is completely the darkest world. It reminds me very much of WWII. There are a lot of parallels between them. It's terrifying but makes for good story.

Hey that's me at 50:17 !! Some context for that tweet, I never did the exploit, was only mocking how people who did got only a temporary suspension and nothing more. At the end of the day it was KI's fault for allowing all of that to unfold and those second chance rerolls costed crowns which is probably why they didn't permanently ban players who did it. ANOTHER EXCELLENT ICEBERG, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS TYPE OF CONTENT! Will be waiting for part 3!!

On squatting, you can see other players doing it. Many many years ago I used to ask teammates how they do it and they didn't even know they were squatting.
1:21:20 the second Old Grizzleheim runic alphabet on Legends of the Spiral is actually wrong. A player named Bowl of Wyrms does a ton of Spiral language stuff, and they figured out that Old Grizzleheim uses capital and lowercase letters. The translator tool only has 5 capital letters instead of the full alphabet, which is on Bowl of Wyrms’ website

It's been so long since I logged onto my original account for this game, after Wizard101 went on Steam I primarily began playing over there again when i picked it up again.
I'm Twenty Two now, however when I first started playing i was maybe like Eight or Nine, not too sure on the age. But I DO still have the Frontier Dragon Mount and the Auric Dragon Statue on my old account, not only this but I still have the Selena Gomez Statue and Portrait from when there was that promotional stunt back in the day, oh man, such good times.

I retired long ago from game (like 4/5 years ago) I don't want come back because I fell the game is become really pay to win(especially the pvp part with the spellement thing which I have enjoy the most while I played back on the days),but I still enjoy watch some content from yt about this game and I have aquired ton of informations and things that I don't even know before from this game. Hi! I'm a friend of AnonW101DiskBuyer and I showed this to them. Of course, they since made the disk public like you saw in the Reddit post. They really appreciated seeing it.
Also, on the thought of Pokémon, interestingly, the chat filter permits people to mention the names of 3 Pokémon, Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam. I could buy Alakazam being a coincidence, since, well, this IS a game about magic and people could say something like that when they use a spell or something. Abra and Kadabra though, I just don't find it that likely to be a coincidence. I haven't tried other Pokémon names (and there's literally over 1000 now, I don't have the time or resources to try every single name, that's just something I did for fun).
Also also, another thing I know I mentioned on Reddit, but if you do a part 3, I'd love to see how you cover the friendly players that serve as teleport pads, like Tabitha Winterheart in the Bazaar, Samantha in the Pet Pavilion, Kane Rainbowbane in the Drains (near the Abandoned House instance), Brittany Soulmender near the potion vendor, and so on.

Abra and Kadabra are named after the Abracadabra spell magicians used in their acts. Or maybe it was a single magician that popularized the phrase, I'm not sure.
That would explain their specific names being included in the white list.

@@Gladrocker For the record, Acampi Reedfist was already undead. The Wizard didn't kill him - they actually referenced that in the quest. He tells the Wizard "You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands... oh, wait."
Edit: It's worth noting that the Wizard has canonically killed people in the past. Malisstaire specifically comes to mind. Before that, there's Krokhotep.

I watched part 1 when it first came out, I just got this video on my recommended. I enjoyed watching this video just as much as the first . I hope you make a part 3. I’ve been playing the game for over 10 years now and I’m fascinated about the stuff you covered in the video from before my time and even afterwards that I wasn’t aware of. My dad and older brother played the game the year it came out, so I definitely log on to their account to see if they have any rare old stuff. Keep up the good work, I’ll look forward to a part 3 video if it ever comes.

1:50:49 The whole of Khrysalis is absolutely metal as fuck. It's worth noting too that in part 1 there's a companion that follows you around for the first half, Dyvim Whitehart, who later gets attacked and thrown out of a window by one of the queen bee's minions in arguably one of the most violent and unexpected cutscenes I've seen in this game, followed by a quest involving you fending off his dying body on the ground from an onslaught of more wasps. A surprisingly brutal and tense sequence of events in a game that for the most part presents itself as a light-hearted kids wizard adventure game but I'm honestly all for it. I instantly fell in love with the general atmosphere of Khrysalis primarily for how different it felt from the rest of the 2nd arc in terms of its tone and stakes, and even artistically it remains as my favorite world in the game.
Outside of that I was also surprised to see that you didn't mention in either video of multiple quest names throughout the game ALSO being references to song names. The most notable imo being the Azteca quests "The Hand That Feeds," "With Teeth," and "Underneath It All," two of them being references to the band Nine Inch Nails' 2005 album With Teeth, and the third being a reference to a song off of their 1999 album The Fragile. Would have been a fun little addition to see but, either way, this was a fantastic video and somewhat of a trip down memory lane for me too as someone who has been playing this game on and off since 2010/2011. I'm elated to see wiz's audience for the most part grow up with the game itself, resulting in us getting quality wiz content like this in 2024.

The Burnzilla pet also gave +5% resist back in like 2009 I believe. It came just like the Defender pig but with a Firezilla card. It was only obtained through Best Buys 20$ card, and like the Defender pig, would change (sometimes you'd get a Firezilla, hotzilla, etc.) I had this pet so that's how I know about it lol. This was an awesome video!

Interestingly enough, there’s a quest in Azteca where you literally kill one of the bosses. It’s called “Cold Dead Hands”. The dialogue after winning the basically says you’ll have to pry a badge from the enemy’s dead hands, and there lies a dinosaur corpse. Thought it was an interesting observation after watching the Khrysalis “Kill” badge section.

I started playing wizard101 back in 2010-2011 when I was 7-8 years old with my friends, but I never got a membership since I didn't even think about asking my parents to give me money for a game (looking back at it Im sure they would have gave it to me). This game became such a core memory to me, then about 2 years ago, I made a new account (and found my old one😅) got a membership and finished the game. It was such a wild ride and even at 18 years old I was just as excited to hop on the game as I was when I was a kid. The community is great, since it's mostly people in their 20's now, very supportive and ready to help you quest, pvp or just hang around. I made friends, I learned a lot about the meta, gear, pet hatching, seen the worlds I never got to see as a non member kid, and healed my heart😅. Much love to y'all!

I also have some of the rare mounts, items, and pets in this iceberg, it’s kinda surreal cuz now that I’m an adult who hasn’t played this game in over 6-7 years for these things to actually be rare is wild to me. I was one of the og players I guess 😭
(My rarest is prob frontier dragon mount. At the time I didn’t know that was exclusive I was just like “oh cool dragon ride”)

Your last iceberg a year ago inspired to me to get back on wiz after a 8 year break. (Started in ‘09) Glad to see another iceberg. I got the storm beetle, Selena, commemorative statue, and can access the celestia prequest still. I guess I sold my pioneer mount cause I can’t find it 😢. And I completely forgot about the treant transformation 😂

I'm a player who started mid-2009 (checked my account and it says July 2, 2009, exactly) and have been playing on and off for years. I have the storm beetle and while I would be eligible for many, many, many anniversary rewards... I always miss them! I think my biggest issue with the anniversaries is not being able to claim stuff when the next one rolls around that you've earned in the last ones. :/ I digress!
I have a massive fantasy palace (I actually still have the physical card!) and I was one of those party renters lol. I prided myself on a really well decorated castle and I'd see a hundred or so wizards running around it and it was my favorite as a kid. I enjoy decorating in games to this day because of it!
I haven't finished the vid yet (god, I've only just begun) but if I see anything else you mention that I have/have done, I'll make sure to edit my comment lol. Oh and that obsidian chest quest SUCKED dude. I'm so happy they fixed it. :'D
