Great video. I think a lot of crocheted items are made of basic geometric shapes. If you can crochet squares, rectangles, circles, and triangles, you can crochet almost anything.
I loveee love love your videos because of how you made me feel included. You always emphasise on the concept of crocheting instead of telling us exact numbers of this and that (which, like, most patterns I've seen were written, whether they were free or not) and as a plus size woman, I really am grateful for it. I hope you always do make videos like this, thank you!
You've hit on several things I've been contemplating myself. We *don't* have to be governed by a pattern, do we? I've always followed them because I know how it's going to look at the end. At 60 years old, it's still hard for me to accept a failure or mistake. But, this behavior has kept me from branching out. We're not getting any younger and tomorrow isn't promised. So, it's best to get it on now! ♥
I hate patterns they confuse me so much and then the have pictures I am left handed and everything is backwards so like just going for it is way easier cause there is almost no left handed tutorials so just learning the stitches and figuring out makes more sense to me . Thank you for this video cause i started a sweater but I have no pattern and I just started and im just going for it so I am glad to hear someone say its not a crazy goal or idea
I’m teaching myself Irish crochet, and I discovered I can substitute complicated stitches with ones I can do and it’s ok. I could never make tops or sweaters though. I covered a canvas bag with cotton crochet “style” lace from a thrift store, and made Irish crochet roses and sewed them on along with other pieces of sturdier doilies and such.
Hi Annabelle. Thank you so much for this video. Please give me inspiration to put my own spin crochet pieces. I have binge watched your channel. I'm loving your up the motivation. Just saying hello from the United Kingdom. I will be recommending your channel to my crochet community. Stay blessed😊
You explain it so well. I'm picturing what I want to make, and thinking of the object as a simplified 3d mesh and taking note of how/where the mesh needs to be shaped, and where different faces attatch to eachother, then arbitrarily deciding how many stitches the mesh needs to work in human scale.
Thank u for explaining this video because I am turning a knitted 2 tone cardigan but I am crocheting and adding things the way I want from various pics.
YOU are the inspo! This is how I feel, so passionate about crochet and making my own things. You've put into words all that crazy energy and ideas I have in my head that keeps me awake sometimes😅 Now it makes sense I'm gonna go for it. Thank you❤
Lightbulbs were turning on in my head as i was watching this lol thank you! Was trying to figure out how to make a Puerto Rican flag blanket. When you said "increases/ decreases", the triangle part clicked In my head
My first time chrocheting a cardigan from scratch without any pattern to follow turned out to be a bit of a disaster. I made both fronts exactly half the width of the back. Because I neglected to overlap the 2 front pieces, there was no way for my niece to get it buttoned. She always just wore it unbuttoned.
I have watched two of your tutorial and I amsooo impressed. So helpfull and informative. Thank you. I think you will do so well as artist teacher and creator and the way you share share your knowledge so freely will be a-blessing to many❤❤❤ subscribing and God Bless you
THE TIMING!!! like I just finished like free handing a messenger bag it was a total flop but still. AND GURLL HOW DO U HAVE ONLY 10K SUBS IVE BEEN FOLLOWING U FOR A WHILE BUT I JUST LOOKED AT UR LIKE VIEW COUNT ND SUBS ND LIKE HOWW??? I rlly wanna smack all the ppl who haven’t subscribed. ButYea tks for the motivation tho I’m currently moving so I’m trying not to make more stuff cause I’ll have to pack more stuff😅 but I can’t wait to start. I’m hoping to make like a hoodie soo I’ll see hopefully it works out 🤞 idk if I’ll need it tho I’m in India lol
This makes so much sense. I find things online to crochet, and I do it for fun, and ive been having ppl telling me to sell it online and im like 🫣😬 But its not my pattern! Like even if i did sell it online (which i want to do tbh, i make too many projects to wanna keep and no one around me wants them..) isnt there rules or unspoken rules about selling other ppls stuff as yours??? Even if its your yarn and time?? Even if its not the pattern but the finished work with credit? Like wouldnt ppl still get mad? Idk, I honestly need more info on that tbh.
I think you could make shorts with only one panel and sewing on the sides so you wont have that problem ( I havent actually made one yet tho but I think its possible)
coming to this out of desperation because why do pattern sellers on xiaohongshu make the process to buy their patterns so goddamn complicated!!! girl let me give you money!!
This is a bit hard to follow. I edited my comment a bit because it was a bit harsh, the video wasn’t for me but I’m sure it helped others. Sorry if I hurt your feelings 😔🧡
aw man:( i’m sorry this was hard to follow, this was more just a creativity talk, more to spark creative ideas think of new ways to approach crochet, less orderly, i’m very scattered brain so i could see where ur coming from😂
To me anything means everything. So I knew she would discuss all different points of writing patterns. Maybe your better suited to watch one subject with one point videos
i free hand all the time! love that more people are getting into making what they love, the way they want
@@thecrochetmushroom I totally agree! It is so beautiful🥰❤️
I am doing thus now. I am learning to put my own spin on everything. Slippers. Make them knee high with a lace in the back
yess!!! that is so amazing to hear, keep spreading ur unique style🥰

@@crishere I totally agree, no need to overcomplicate, 😊😊😊😊

Bella Coco has left hand tutorials
i’m left handed too and i just forced myself to crochet with right hand and i got used to it but that may not work for everyone lol
the left-handed craft issues are too real

You’ll definitely have to do some research.. but from what I’ve seen, most patterns or creators say to just give credit to the original designer.
thank you for being an inspo 😊

HELLO annaabella ( from Denmark )I
thank you so much that is so sweet❤️💕🥰
I’ve always free handed but I wanted to watch this video (came from TikTok)
so impressive💕 these techniques are good for finding inspo all over, even from sewing patterns😉

My first video of yours. It’s kinda distracting that you aren’t looking at the camera but up and to the right. Are you watching yourself!?!
