Cool,Thanks for sharing.I wore the 877's yesterday and today i am wearing the 1907]s.When i need the ultimate cushion the 1907 is hard to beat with that insole.90 percent of the time i go without insoles so a break is good, especially since i have been breaking in the nos 699's. I bought some false tongues and leather boot laces from nicks to go with my 699's and they are working out great. Thanks again.
As a shoe repairman that works on redwings and sells redwing boots I will say that if the welt(after 2-3 full rebuild done by a professional) can be replaced as long as they have the understanding of construction and proper materials however in today society of shoe repair that is readily available knowledge online and through research you can find the right cobbler that suits your needs!
I always keep two pair of 875’s one for work and one for going out. And when my work boots blow out, the going out boots become work boots. And the cycle continues.
RW 875's are a must have, the perfect outfit, Japanese RAW denim jeans and lite denim shirt with your RW 875's Amazing........ CJ is your Rolex rocking a RW strap, I hear that in the states you can purchase RW watch straps. Great breakdown review,, thank you, your efforts and time are sincerely appreciated from your RW fans is Sunny Australia......
Still don't understand why Red Wing decided to discontinue the Beckman. It wasn't a dress boot. It was an in between hybrid. It's almost like they're trying to force the Williston (which is at a higher price point) on everyone. Just my two cents.
I wear the foreman chukka which is good for warmer weather. The briar slick leather is awesome but the tongue is cotton lined on the inside so it does heat up after a while..
They do have a lot Beckman in stock in red wing TriBeCa and they also Carry the exclusive japan line because they have the license and if you have a big feet there some on stock on Dave’s
Cool, how did you get the boots in different stages of manufacture? Did Red Wing give them to you for your videos or are they loaners? Great to see how they're made. Better than watching the Red Wing videos which only show quick shots.
I don't really like white soles because they get dirty real fast, but for some reason, most moc toes I found have white soles. I need one to replace my vintage Doc Martens moc toe.
Thorogood uses what looks like a resin welt. what I like about their welt is it doesnt get deformed from kicking things like redwing's leather welt. the redwing welt does look better when new tho
I know this video is old, and I just found it after obsessively watching red wing videos... but as of just a few days ago the red wing factory store still has sheldons new on display to buy.
Hey Cj , great channel ! Unfortunately I bought the 9075 in 8.5 and the 875 in 8.0 and they are both big on me....wore each pair twice before realizing my true redwing size is 7.5 ( I bought both of the internet..... I'm now stuck with these 2 pairs and ha e nl idea what to do with them, I wanna kill myself :) If You would know someone who Might want them at a good price please let me know, sorry for butting in here with my problem ! Anyways, thanks and have a good one !
You could keep the 875s and just put an insert in them and be totally fine. The 9075s are a loss. The good thing is they can be sold because they are going to be discontinued.

Thanks for the breakdown of the boot. I bought some 875’s a few months ago and still going through the dreaded break in.
Yeah, the break-in is never a pleasant experience. Thick wool socks and time 🔑

This was very informative and your delivery made it fun! I enjoy your content and wish you all the best

Hey, No my strap is not from Red Wing although I recently inquired about getting a strap from them.

Makes sense, the Sheldon feels like an experimental boots for Red Wing in designing Dress Boots. Willistons is basically a perfected Sheldon

Having a tough decision between 875 and 1907. Any chance you could make a comparison video? Specially when it comes to fitting and comfort. Thanks

Thanks
I have the 9-inch moctoe & I FREAKING LOVE THEM!!! 🥾

@redwingheritagenyc hooked me up. The guys there are great! They loaned me the 875 Anatomy.
You could always have the welt replaced. So if it fails the shoe is not done.

I work on 44th st and I have considered taking a walk to this store, do they carry styles not available online?
Yes, many
1907s for life!!
Thorogood uses what looks like a resin welt. what I like about their welt is it doesnt get deformed from kicking things like redwing's leather welt. the redwing welt does look better when new tho
Warm/hot climate chuckas are always my first choice

You should pick up a pair. They are quite nice.
Yeah! First here!!! Keep 'em coming.
didn't know it was partly lined. is the iron ranger lined?
The Iron Ranger is canvas lined.
What weight leather is used on typical Red Wing boots?
man, i feel like they're coming for us
btw. i'm wearing/breaking 3343's... as i cry for the heritage
What is the best recommended online store for redwing witch ship out side the usa because I am interested in buying a few thanks
End Clothing
i guess the sheldon/merchant/williston were so similar one of them had to go. glad i didn't review a sheldon!
Yeah, the Sheldon and the Williston are VERY similar. I think the Williston has a nicer outsole.
WEEKENDER CHUKKA for Miami.
I'm curious, do you wear the same size in the number 8 last as you do in the number 23 last?
I could wear the same size on the 8 last as the 23 last if I had to... but a better fit is a half size down on the 8 last.
Welts can be replaced.
Yes
So the outer sole is NOT welted to the welt, therefore this is NOT a GY welt.
Thoughts: Looks solid nevertheless.
Chukka's! Either Weekender Copper or 3140's!
For Miami that is!
