Coming back to this video to comment after having bought the exact setup in this video. This setup works, better than advertised in this video in fact. It’s surprising how good these cheap headphones are. The Anker bluetooth receiver works seamlessly. Thumbs for the showing me this setup and I recommend this to everyone who listens to music while riding a motorcycle and to anyone who just wants great headphones!
Hello, I also had to come back to thank you. This was so cheap so I had to try it and it works just like you say. Ive tried Cardo with speakers inside the helmet but I was never satisfied with the sound and just like you say you could barely hear anything.. People are using earplugs with filters and say it sounds good as those earplugs let the music through but Ive tried that too and its still bad. The sound is still too weak and Ive tried this in both Shoei and HJC helmets and tried different placements of the speakers but the sound is just so bad. All riders saying they are happy with their Cardo / Sena etc just say that to make them feel better with their purchase. I bought the bluetooth reciever you talk about and a pair of plugfones (earplugs with built in speakers) and it works great. Now I can finally listen to quality music / gps directions / notifications etc and no wind and im protecting my ears at the same time. Thank you so much!!
I just got these buds and they really do sound good. They fit perfect in my ears and don't interfere with the way my helmet fits. They sound waaaaay better than my sena. I actually hear bass and it blocks outside wind like earplugs. The only con for me is that it hurts when taking the helmet off.
Good to hear you like them :) One tip when taking your helmet off. Take the straps and pull them outside when you take off your helmet. That way the shell becomes wider and it won’t hurt then :)
Was looking for a solution that didn't require me buying an entire comms system. Some of those cheap helmet speakers work good until you get above 30 mph. Looking forward to seeing how this sounds.
Awesome video. I've been just using headphones connected to my phone but it's a pain in the rear. My headphones weren't great and they didn't have the ear clips. Being able to keep my phone on my motorcycle's handlebar mount with the receiver in my pocket will be a game changer. I just ordered both of them using the affiliate links you provided to show my support of your work and advice. Vielen Dank!
I used to use decent quality wired buds with foam tips, that seal the ear, before I bought sena. There are couple of issue. 1. God Forbid, If you ever have an accident, the earphones will likely damage your ear. 2. Dangling wire used to create noise. 3. It blocks ambient noise. Its dangerous. bluetooth speakers, combined with riding buds, block wind and road noise, but you can still hear other vehicles. Its quite comforting actually. It was cheap, but the audio quality was almost audiophile level compared to bluetooth and it was super cheap.
I use the Bluetooth adapters to plug into my in ear monitors. They still wrap over the ear so they hold good in the helmet, but dont have to worry about wires. A little more $ but still not bad.
I wear wireless earbuds under my helmet, they cost me £18 and last all day. With them being plugs they cancel out the wind. I can hear everything else except the wind, and I didn't have to hack pieces of foam out of my helmet.
Have you ever thought about the combination of the entry cardo spirit and the earbuds you showed here? Is that even possible and if so is that not the best option for also answering calls and talking to another rider besides listening to music? I think with the right discount you still be under €100
With the ear bud wires comming down from the helmet do they plug directly into the little Bluetooth module box?.. if so you would have to fix the Bluetooth module to the bike so the wires aren't dangling into your pocket
@@TheRideWithRoland Yeah just have to make some decisions I'm buying a new helmet not sure if it's going to be a Bluetooth helmet with the speakers & wiring built in already (speakers probably won't sound good), or maybe the symphony speakers I hear are phenomenal ill build into the helmet OR your set up..🤔..Ha..
Seeing pics of the earbuds, they seem bulky and can get in the way when putting your helmet on? I can skip the Bluetooth unit and plug them into the little Jack in my Sena 20S

8:54 i dont get the idea of expensive intercom systems at all, they make no sense when you can connect wireless headphones to your phone and use an app like Zello or Bluetooth Walkie
I’ve tested that with AirPods Pro’s, the problem is that the mic on the airpods doesn’t work that great in a helmet. Would be a 10/10 solution if it was possible to use an external mic.
@@JRichtmann93 i use cheap wireless sport earphones, the ones with a rubber connection between both ears, that goes on the back of your neck, the microphone is on the wire on the right, it also prevents it from falling out, because I would be scared to wear airpods in a helmet, because one of them can fall out, and you are left with a missing airpod
So for the cord of the IEMs, do I just shove it up in my helmet? Just a little confused how you manage that from a setup standpoint. Good video though!

The biggest thing for me, is the fact I put my helmet on , fire the bike up and ride. Not keen on separate in ear sounds. Plus, for me, I never found anything comfortable ! Good luck with your Patreon. !
Please be careful with this kind of setup. I tested it with KB Ears headphones + Shoei NXR2 (RF-1400 in USA I suppose) and..... I had a major problem taking off my helmet! When pulling off the helmet, the earphones start slipping out of my ears, and they get pinched between my head and the helmet's padding. As a result, it's impossible to either remove the helmet or take out the earphones. Please be careful, as this could be painful and in emergency even more taumatic.
