I love seeing new advancements for classic engines, but what is the benefit of introducing a wet sump to this engine over, say, an external oil cooler hanging off the oil filter?
A dry sump usually results in better oil control especially in hard driving/riding conditions. It usually equates to more power too. Can't say i've seen many people go from dry to wet sump, usually, its the other way around.

This is cleaning up the looks to not have an external oil tank anywhere else on the bike

What year is this bike, 70/80's I assume? Back then I automatically thought that they had a wet sump to be honest.
