Thank you for providing so many examples! That last round at the round that compared all 4 types back to back with vocals, acoustic, and electric was super helpful!

What a great, concise and informative video. I've had a large diaphragm cardioid condenser for a while but often wondered if I made the right choice. Turns out I did! Thanks for the video.

Great, to the point video. I learnt a number of new things, and so good to hear the shoot out on different instruments.

Thank you for the detailed explanations! I am trying to find the perfect mic for my piano performances. I think I might go with small condenser mics.

That wide diaphragm condenser sounded best overall. Super high resolution clarity and range... With good low frequency. For vocals clear winner.
The dynamic Mic has a nice mellow sound that is pleasant although not as detailed.
For the instrument I also prefered the large diaphragm condenser mic.
The expensive tube microphone had a metallic harshness to it sounded almost like light clipping on higher frequencies during vocals. Maybe an EQ problem there.

Mic'd setups: often used to preserve mild distortion warmth of favorite cabinet amps for re-amplification that suits a venue without excessive volume. Dylan liked doing that - saw him perform years ago and from what I could tell, there were at least 34 mics in service.

Interesting the ribbons sounds sort of muffled and muted - would not have guessed that.

It is quite apparent that the ribbon mic is the way to capture bass.

Just quick-clicking back-and-forth through the vocal demos, the dynamic mic sounds dull and lifeless. Might be fine in a live stage performance (or for podcasting). But, I wouldn't use it for home/studio recording (unless I lived on a noisy street).
I couldn't hear a difference between the two condensers and the ribbon mic.
(I know that the ribbon mic picks up natural reverb, so I guess that room's walls weren't very ...reverberous.)

Wow, I really heard a completely different sound with the ribbon on every instrument: more spacious or I would describe it as more 'air' in the sound . Not better, just a different timbre.

    SIR
I want to do voice over. I want to record my poetry professionally. In which I get high quality. But in my poetry some lines will go in high tone and some lines will go in emotional low tone. And my room is not sound proof. Suggest me a good mic, headphone and audio interface.

Get something like Aston Halo to tame the reverb in your room, then get a condenser mic.
