golden comets are from different breed crosses according to hatchery . Cackle hatchery uses Cherry egger rooster over Rhode island white hens . Another hatchery uses a different cross . Rhode island red rooster over white leghorn hens . The best bet is one you find a the golden comet you like , stick to that hatchery to make sure you get that same cross.
I purchased 5 golden comet pullets a few months ago and I ended up with 4 hens and 1 rooster. They are all the typical brown of the females though including the rooster. So this is not always correct even though everything I’ve read about these chickens says they are a sex link breed and that they can be separated by sex right after hatching
