As I suspected theres still alot of play in the shifter even after this installation. Thats because that isnt where it usually goes. The most common issue is that the pinn that holds the shiftingarm to the shifter wears in the hole, this creates play between the hole and the pin. Alot of people grind the pinn off and replace it with an M10 bolt but there are also kits you can buy that completely replaces the arm and the pin. On a brand new 944 there is ZERO play in the shiftlinkage, you shouldnt be able to move the shifter one millimeter from side to side in gear.
Thanks for video. did not install short shift yet but did shift linkage arm and shifter. What a diff. Looking at interior of car, noticed suede (?) on the dash. Looks really nice, can I ask where you got it from or how you installed? My dash is cracked like so many others.
lots of people get covers that glue over the original dash. i've looked into them for my 944 and they're about $200 on pelican parts. not sure if they make complete replacement IP uppers or not.
Thx for your video, I 'm gonna install the new linkage set according to your instructions. By the way I don't remenber where I bought the new set, I guess VertexAuto or Automotion. Is the same way for a 930 turbo? because I also have a new linkage for my 930.
