  • Back in 2005, film enthusiast Toshihiro Nagoshi released Yakuza, a gritty drama presented as a 3D beat-em-up title. The game was popular and ended up spawning not only a bunch of sequels, but spinoffs and remakes as well. SEGA even set up Ryu ga Gotoku Studio as a way of managing all of the different games within this new franchise. But everything changed in Yakuza 7, when they not only changed the protagonist to Ichiban Kasuga, but also created a brand new combat system.

I actually bought Like a dragon because it was an RPG. I never enjoyed beat-em ups so i never got around to playing the first games but man, Like a dragon just hit me good. It had a good RPG system for how short of a time frame they had. Outside of a certain chapters forced grinding, i think the game was great and i am already looking forward for the next game

It doesn't need a little work. It needs to go back to the way it was before and then improve on that tremondously. Yakuza is dead to me now.
