I never pre-order as a rule, but I really loved KCD 1, and I want to support Warhorse Studio as much as possible, so I'm willing to break my rule for once. They are the only ones who create exactly the kind of games that I want to play.
Exactly. I’m usually the first to say “get it on sale” or on game pass, or “never preorder”, but with Warhorse they’ve proven that they’re not scummy or just in it to get as much money out of your wallet as possible and leave you with barely a game to even play. Was their first game buggy as hell and had rough edges to it? Absolutely, and I’ll be the first to say it. But the honesty, integrity, and love that they put into their games is very admirable, so I preordered the collectors edition for pc as soon as it was available
Only thing i know is that potions will have potency, you can have stronger potions for more uses (maybe stronger effects), which is great that you would not feel the need to create every potion at least 20x and so it shoud be less anoying and hopefully not confusing what's happening with boiling water and so. I hope they nailed it.
Unfortunately, English speakers will miss out on the whole language game. But it's quite funny too. When characters speak English, it is supposed to represent native Czech. The guy who was about to be hanged was speaking Polish, and since Czech and Polish are pretty close languages, we can understand a lot. The funny part is that the meanings of words and phrases are shifted in a way that makes Czechs find Poles sound quite funny, and vice versa. That German merchant has a similar, although different vibe. Czech and German aren't mutually intelligible, but everybody here knows a bit of German. And there are stereotypes... :)
I personally love the saviour schnapps system and it's risk vs reward. I am a gamer since 80's so that might have something to do with it. Only thing was that at the end of KCD1 I had like 200 saviour schnapps in my saddlebags and it became pretty menial. Was the best way to level up alchemy though. But They said they balanced in KCD2, so I am really interested in seeing what that means. And there will be a mod to save any time if you prefer it, but fot me the system was already very good in KCD1.
It wasn't like you couldn't save ever, you could always save sleeping in a bed. But the schnapps system was meant to encourage you to 'think' tactically about where you migh choose at maybe a narrative choice with some consequences, or at a particularly challenging sequence. I wasn't sure at first, but I grew to enjoy it, because it really did encourage you to accept the consequences of your actions, rather than just save-scumming to get an optimal outcome. If nothing else, it encouraged replaying the game to try things differently, and replayability is a good thing, surely?
you can see how much passion the devs have for this game and in my opinion that's what helped it shine through the bugs and technical problems the first game had making it the most immersive rpg I've ever played
This is super minor and doesn’t matter at all, but I kinda wish they added a feature where Henry can knock on people’s door to talk to them, instead of just walking in.😅
This is my most anticipated game upcoming. Took over Avowed ever since the tonal shift. I wanted a more grounded Pillars as a dark fantasy. Not another whimsical Outer Worlds-esque take on Pillars. Eh time will tell on that one
I was really looking forward to Avowed too, it looked like it was gonna be awesome, but then they released the gameplay of it and it just felt like Outer Worlds with a fantasy paint job on it 😕 Hopefully we’re both wrong though, I’d like to try that one too
Avowed gameplays look good but i also dont like the art style, its just too colorful, too childish looking. In Outer Worlds its make sense, its more comedy like in style of 50s sci fi movies, but Pillars of Eternity was mature fantasy, i expect Pillars of Eternity 3 but in 3D, not Outer Worlds with fantasy skin.
The first game has some of the best in-game forests and foliage I've ever seen. It's an experience to just wander into the woods to go hunting with the birds chirping, the god rays seeping through the leaves, the tranquil forest breeze, and animals running about. It really is a great-looking game.
This might be my personal game of the year if the first one was ANY indication of the quality they are capapble of and if they go just a little further this time it will be a masterpiece.
I don't buy games at launch (and definitely not pre-order). But, assuming this isn't a buggy mess at launch, I will buy this day one. KCD was AWESOME. The archery and overall combat was so rewarding. The world, characters, and music, all amazing.
One of my favorite parts of the original game was the grind of going from a useless boy of a blacksmith to a decent men and swordsman. Curious to see how they keep that going part of the game seeing how you start as a seasoned Henry now
12:57 I legitimately think it's because video games had a big AI marketing push a few years back. Unfortunately instead of treating it like advancement to build off of, they treated it like a fad and moved onto something else.
Going into development immersion first is such a lost art form. I remember so many games from the 90's who did that really well and I love Warhorse for bringing that art back.
Played this to death (KCD1) during Covid furlow … After scuba diving all over the world / mountain climbing / parachuting etc this was the most fun I had gaming in 3/4 months I was basically paid to play it - the bonus was …. My missus was still in work so I got some peace and could grind it out 😂
I got the first game on a whim one day because it was on sale with all dlc for like 5 bucks. I didn’t think I would like the combat because of what people had said about it and I was also aware that it was buggy. It quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. I am so excited for the next game!
The first 10 hours of the original drove me crazy. The most frustrating game I’ve ever played, but I couldn’t stop playing it and I eventually loved it. This looks great as well.
People said the combat was too difficult and the game is too slow. But what makes this game so great is the slower pacing. You are a commoner in the medieval period, no one of importance. Once you learn the combat its easier but very rewarding.
@@JoshR842 you were the worst in the beginning, which was realistic, but so unlike most modern games and frustrating. But eventually you can easily become overpowered.
I think the amount of clunkiness in the first one is so much more passable than many of the games we are getting today, where they barely even function. All of this considering the ambition and the size of warhorse at the time they made KCD1. Definitely my favorite game and the most immersive for me for sure
I remember seeing KCD 1 before release thinking man this game looks freakin’ awesome , then it dropped and actually was great ! Now we’re seeing KCD 2 and it looks amazing !
Saviour schnaps is also alcohol, so even if you have a lot of them, saving often makes your Henry drunk, which can be a big problem, if you like to play with bow for example...
kingdom come and RDR2 set a bar living open worlds for me. Looking at the likes of starwars outlaws and so there many lack luster open worlds. KCD2 and GTA6 have me looking forward to their open worlds.
Massive thanks Luke for bringing this game up. Completely up my street. Brought the first Kingdom Come game this evening plus all DLCs for £3.75. I’m not sure how I didn’t know this franchise existed. It’s incredible game so far!
Also if you’re really stuck early game with no saviour schnapps you can quickly make an exit save. Pain in the butt technique I used twice in very early game where I wanted a specific result like saving Theresa from the Cumans.
On the Saviour Schnapps thing, it wasn't like you couldn't save ever, you could always save sleeping in a bed.
As we've still got 6 months until release I thought I'd play the first one, and its actually amazing, I can't put it down. Its like that anything goes kind-of-janky oblivion vibe but with really good writing, environments and pure artistic vision.
I just hope this game has all the latest tech used for it. Frame gen, ray tracing, hdr ........... just all the latest stuff........ all NVIDIA. Let our 4090's ROCK THIS GAME!!!!!
Given the console performance for the first game I'll probably only pick this game up later when all the bugs have been ironed out. New games these days have taught me to always wait at least a few months after release to get the game. Anyone remember the terrible data streaming on the OG PS4 for the first game? Took like 30 seconds sometimes for the assets to fully load after fast-travelling. Was janky as heck, still a fun game though.
My issue with the game is performance on console. Unstable 30fps on the original & the Devs lack of support for future consoles makes me not want to buy KCD2. I understand they are still heavily in development on KCD2 but that shouldn't be a excuse, a lot of other Devs do it AND support their older games. Just makes me have no faith in warhorse
They did the same for the cumans in part 1 (they skipped the translation of the dialogs.. missed chance would be good if the subtitles would have become more and more clearer the more henry leveled up the language skill)
"Turn that horse around....." A note on the attention to detail in AI programming. The guard registers that Henry is mounted; if you had come on foot he would have said a different line.
I'm not an RPG guy other than Skyrim and starfield. Never really gave the first game a thought but it was 4 dollars on Xbox this weekend. I can't put it down. They really hit that living world thing that makes most RPG don't have and make them so boring to me.
Lmao I wasn't looking at the screen and I'm like did I click on the wrong video? I heard the guy and I'm like I know what he's saying why is he so mad to look at the screen again and was like oh okay checks out
Its a massive shame the dev has said they will not be updating the original to take advantage of the series x & ps5. Its nearly unplayable regarding performance. A lot of people would like to play KCD before KCD2 or just to try it out to see if they will enjoy it before deciding to buy the sequel but will be put off with the performance, dips into the low 20s at times. I'm one of them & wont be buying KCD2
this game is less clunky than most games. idk what luke is on about. combat looks clunky because its based on realism and spoiler you dont do crazy fluid attack animation in actual sword combat wearing 60kg armor 20kg shield
Well, clunky likes to be thrown around a lot for kcd but I feel like it’s just slightly overused In the first game however there were some aspects of clunk to it For example, a lot of times with the combat you’d just end up walking backwards while 5 guys run at you and you’d just master strike them until they’re all dead Now, I don’t think that they should lower the difficulty of the combat, far from it. But I do think that the first games combat needed a little bit more polish to it
This is one of the only new games that makes me really itch to preorder. I'm holding my hands till a couple days after release though still, fingers crossed.
I would preorder the night before because you do get in some stuff if you preorder at no cost. You will probably be able to get later. But it probably won’t be free
I dunno if I agree with your take that gamers are just looking for something fun with good fundamentals. I'm sure that plays a big part, but if I was describing KCD those things wouldn't be the first words that came to mind. It's a game that's immersive without being bloated with exposition, it treats you like a grown up and doesn't hold your hand all the way through. Contrast this with the climbing button prompts and yellow edges that exist deep into Outlaws et al and I think you get closer to your answer for why something like this is getting the interest it is.
I disagree that the fighting looks clunky in this game. In the first game it was definitely super clunky and felt like you were fighting in quick sand lol (although I still absolutely loved it.) and while in this game you still want to always move and avoid being surrounded, it looks like they added a lot more fight scene cinematics. Like when Henry grabbed that guy by the back of the head and thrust his sword through his throat lol. That was definitely not in the first game. Overall this is my most hyped game of the whole year. Even over GTA6. That’s just me though.

I remember seeing KCD 1 before release thinking man this game looks freakin’ awesome , then it dropped and actually was great ! Now we’re seeing KCD 2 and it looks amazing !
Can't wait for this!
So glad people are coming around with this sequel. My friends thought I was crazy for enjoying the original when it came out
Appreciate the overview. I wish the game (& developers) on a successful launch ❤.
That Polish guy rant who was being hang at beginning is the best.
I need to replay the original to get up to speed with the story
Kingdom come deliverance was a brilliant underrated genius of a game. The sequel is shaping up to be even better. Can't wait!
"What other game has a quest like this?" The beginning of "Eric the Unready" (1993) :P
They embraced the hungry meme so hard and I love it.
Saviour schnaps is also alcohol, so even if you have a lot of them, saving often makes your Henry drunk, which can be a big problem, if you like to play with bow for example...
It's a good thing you can play as a drunkard and benefit form being drunk and have steady hands :D
This game needs a proper gore system
Henry smashing heads violently with mace, and them saying "I feel quite hungry" will be always gold
Americans need to shush.
@@MundusMeus974 Nah, gore is fun. Team Ninja games benefit from having gore, for example.
@@MundusMeus974 i agree with that comment but also believe that gore has to be implemented, since this game focuses on realism
Some realistic gore would be a cool addition, you disagree?@@MundusMeus974
kingdom come and RDR2 set a bar living open worlds for me. Looking at the likes of starwars outlaws and so there many lack luster open worlds. KCD2 and GTA6 have me looking forward to their open worlds.
Here too soon. Comment section is still weird.
Lol, they didn't translate the Polish guy, but he's freaking hilarious, and I'm sure he's going to be fan favourite 😂
They did the same for the cumans in part 1 (they skipped the translation of the dialogs.. missed chance would be good if the subtitles would have become more and more clearer the more henry leveled up the language skill)
this game is so clungky, it put a smile in my face everytime hendry interacting with anything.. lol love it 😅
Combat looks okay? Hoping for the best. God be with this game.
Looks the same. I'm fine with that, as it was part of what I loved about the game
I hope it works on steam deck
"Turn that horse around....." A note on the attention to detail in AI programming. The guard registers that Henry is mounted; if you had come on foot he would have said a different line.
I really hope warhorse makes a game like this in the holy land.
The literal only game I'm excited about in the next year.
GTA 6; drops
@@ebubeugochukwu846GTA is way overrated
I'm not an RPG guy other than Skyrim and starfield. Never really gave the first game a thought but it was 4 dollars on Xbox this weekend. I can't put it down. They really hit that living world thing that makes most RPG don't have and make them so boring to me.
KCD2 has me far more excited than any other game coming out. Star Wars Outlaws has nothing on this.
Lmao I wasn't looking at the screen and I'm like did I click on the wrong video? I heard the guy and I'm like I know what he's saying why is he so mad to look at the screen again and was like oh okay checks out
The first game is impressive being the studios first game
The poles watching the beginning of this video 👀 0:19
No dragon age. Only Chad Henry in medieval Europe.
Let bioware cook
@@ebubeugochukwu846 more like burn
This game looks like Oblivion, if Oblivion were made in 2014 by a competent dev on any engine other than Creation.
Can't wait
Kkd1 is world class it is a shame that it wasn’t fully baked even by the end but more funding and more time should equal a better game with part 2.
this game is less clunky than most games. idk what luke is on about. combat looks clunky because its based on realism and spoiler you dont do crazy fluid attack animation in actual sword combat wearing 60kg armor 20kg shield
Well, clunky likes to be thrown around a lot for kcd but I feel like it’s just slightly overused
In the first game however there were some aspects of clunk to it
For example, a lot of times with the combat you’d just end up walking backwards while 5 guys run at you and you’d just master strike them until they’re all dead
Now, I don’t think that they should lower the difficulty of the combat, far from it.
Please dont fuck up the launch like first one 🙏🙏🙏
I would like to have the option to hide the crosshair while exploring. 🤔
The dialogue reminds me of the original Fable
0:45 isn't this the same guy that had the frozen face early in Dragon's Dogma 2?
I am happy to pay twice for?
KCD 2 VR!!!!!!
Already Gold Edition bought mine on Steam.
I heard GTA 6 will have really good A.I being one step ahead of the industry once more.
I got a feeling gta gonna suck
I like the clunkiness though, its part of the character. Same with fallout and skyrim
The only thing you need to learn from the Pole on this video is, that "kurwa" means "fuck". 😅
