That pep talk was really helpful, honestly most of those girls were jealous of you. Maybe you've seen the movie malena? It could be the malena effect, but I'm glad you got rid of those friends. Unfortunately girls are taught to see eachother as competition from an early age, and some people just can't grow out of it or at least not show it. Tbh, I realized that I'm happier having fewer friends, a few good friends is so much better than fake friends. If you have your family, your bf, and literally like 1 friend, then you'll be fine, you just need to surround yourself with positive people
Yes it does all stem from a young age, I'm not perfect either but it's one thing to grow up & another to keep being the same way and not grow to embrace your friends but rather still keep competing with them :/ I'v also realized the same thing, even though I have less friends now, I have more security & don't have anxiety about fakeness around me. Yes! all about positive people
Omg! I remember Formspring 😂 In middle school the group of girls that were my friends (or so I thought) all decided to have a sleepover and not invite me. Where they all talked shit about me and wrote nasty things on my Formspring. I dropped them after that and in high school they tried to be my friend again 🙃 since then I’ve also had a hard time making girl friends.
Those were some crazy times! Formspring was literally made for the mean girls! Same, since it’s shaped such a young version of me it’s carried onto trusting people even now. But I think there’s plenty of amazing people out there that aren’t all terrible, it’s just a matter of filtering the bad ones out and finding the true friends ❤
