I just want to tell you how much your happiness shows! I know you were going through a rough time last year and were doing your best, but now you just seem to be bursting with enthusiasm. Looks good on you💕
For my mom I used a 4x6 photo album to create a password notebook. I made a 4x6 template of the information she should write down and then she would put it in the photo sleeve. She stored this book in her safe so her passwords were safe but easy for her to access.
What a good idea. I have left over baseball card storage pages from my son's Scout blue cards and rank patches. My password file is creative chaos, I think I will adapt your idea for your mom and use what I have. 😊
Noreen, you seem so happy and I am so happy for you. You have been through some dark times over the last few years and it is wonderful to see you on the other side.
Are you reading my mind? I love these ideas, especially the binder clips (we use binder clips everywhere, ha ha)--I have used binder clips to store paperwork in files like that for decades and never thought to attach a label. What a great idea. The chair storage was amazing. I have been ready to donate or toss all but a few sizes of my plastic food containers. It was encouraging to hear that you did and it is working for you. For years I have collected a stockpile of reused glass jars that I use for food storage, between those and my trusty Pyrex I think I am going to purge most of the plastic. Enough of the clutter!
I bought a set of meal containers and got rid of every other storage container except for the very large or very small ones. They hold 28 oz; if we have a lot of something left over, we just use more than one. BUT the genius here is that when there are leftovers from a dinner, we go ahead and package them up like a tv dinner. It’s shocking how much more likely the family is to eat leftovers when they are already plated up with a variety so it’s just like a meal. Don’t get rid of your bigger ones, though…mine were in the donate box and I had to retrieve one when we were taking a large salad to a potluck. 😂
Hi Norrine! You gave us some wonderful storage ideas! I really like the idea of adding storage to the side of a dresser or the end of your kitchen counter! Looking forward to seeing the sign you made for your garden! Thanks for sharing! 💜
Hello i love all these ideas. I have an old dresser drawer in my garage just sitting in there with my material, but I like the idea to add those shelves from IKEA thank you for all you do, you are super awesome Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!!!💐❤
I just enjoy your videos so much. Some people just have “it”. And you have got it. Even when you were going through hard times you were still so nice to watch. So glad life has improved for you. .. Great friends who become partners in life make life so much better.
I especially love the idea of including notes on your washer, dryer, freezer etc. I have never thought of that before. Thank you for all the great ideas you provide us! :)
So many ideas! I'm going to have to go back and replay this a few times. I can probably use each one of your ideas in this house. I wish you were here. I know you could harness my 15 room home.
Hi Norreen! Just wanted to let you know that your videos are so helpful and enjoyable, that I've been known to watch them two or three times! That's how good they are! So many great ideas! Thank you!!
Hi, Norinne! So many good ideas! I will try some I liked. I saw a tip for paper towels for when you buy in bulk. They used a garment bag for seasonal clothes which I had two of in the basement. I had turned one of my closets into my cleaners and paper products in. I brought up the garment bag and hung it in the closet and put paper towels in it. Or you could put toilet paper in it. It zips up to keep the paper products clean and dry. Love it. It also lets you know when you have to buy more. Plus it saves space. Glad to see you back! Happy Mother’s Day.🌷🌷🌷💜🥰👍
The dryer hack I use is a "non-dryer items" 3x5 card and a magnet. When I need it, I put it on the washer front. When I don't need it, I put it on the top of on the lost coins container. Love watching your videos!
Norrine, from your lips to my ears on getting rid of clutter! I always love your fantastic ideas! I have a sewing machine chair with hidden storage in seat! Why didn’t I think of that for my other chairs🤦♀️ you’re just amazing! We need you in our lives❤ binder clips with labels- oh my. We were just discussing how to make more room for our files! You rock! Will be saving this video to refer to for the other I credible ideas. Thanks for always being there for us. Happy Mother’s Day! 🌹👍❤️😊
I use tension rods in my laundry room. I use binders to keep my appliances warranty and books. I started to purge my hobby room. I’m starting with getting all the garbage and what I want to get rid of first. I keep a notebook in the kitchen and list items that I use up. This way my husband always buys what we need and doesn’t make unnecessary trips to the grocery.
Great ideas! I especially like the idea of putting labeled binder clips in file folders! I just put my papers in generic folders. Like: Med bills 2024 Then, if I don't need them 7 yes later, I can toss them without looking thru them. 😊❤
I love all these ideas. Can you show us some ideas for adding storage to lower areas. I’m in a wheelchair and I have floating shelves but can no longer reach anything. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. 💝🥰
I love your video!! ❤ I have watched off and on over the years. I was reading the comments and I am so sorry you have been through difficult times. I was not aware since I have just returned after a difficult time myself. Your videos offer such encouragement and hope! I am discovering in my late 50's and early 60's that I have ADHD and your videos are very helpful. I wish you God's best!
These are great ideas! I already use a few comparable ones. I have generations of inherited pieces of furniture so I have plenty storage. Just under utilized with clutter. I SO appreciate your videos! Blessings for a wonderful year❣️💕🙏
Thanks for all your insight. I have a challenge for you...I have inherited photos and letters, greeting cards, child drawings, school records and crafts, baby books, etc and so many other types of old family ephemera going back to late 1800s. How would you organize and store these types of items?
We used the space above our sink to hang pots and pans. We just put a sturdy rod over two cabinets on each side of the window above the sink, placed S hooks on the rod! All our pans fit perfectly! I also hang the lids on the handles and that saves a TON of space!
I love, love, love all your ideas. It is always so inspiring - Thanks Norrine! For those brushes that clean out bottle straws, I hung three small metal command hooks from Dollar Tree on the inside of my under sink cabinet. Not only is it easy to grab when I am washing them out, but they hang out of the way, don't get bent and hangs to dry. Since they are so small you can place them anywhere. I hung mine just below the command hook I use to store my rubber gloves on.
I love theses storage ideas. My craft room is so cluttered, I’ve used a lot of your ideas. I’m getting through it one day at a time. I did use your idea of using wire baskets from the dollar tree for my florals. I had about 6 bins of florals, noe they look so pretty hanging in the baskets, I and I can see what I have, and I can just go pick a flower that I need. I have flowers that I forgot I had. Now I’m on too my shelves. I’m hoping to have it all done by the end of the month. Thanks for sharing
I really like the kitchen ideas! 👍 The lid storage is genius! 💡 All of the tension rod ideas are so creative! 👏 The hanging area over the door was cool. I saw the library ladder with it, but was thinking the hooks that they use in garment stores might be safer as we get older. It would be helpful for out of season clothes! 🤗
I use deli containers for food storage container, one size lid fits multiple container sizes. I purchase them at a food service supply store. I can freeze things in these but best of all I can send food to others and not have to worry about having my containers returned.
Hi Noreen! I've. been gone for a month and am just catching up with your videos. These are amazing ideas! Usually, I've already seen most organizing tips, but 90% of these are new to me. I'll have to watch again and take notes of what I can use where! (Still struggling to get my craft room perfect - it's getting close!) Thanks so much for all you do to help us hopeless craft hoarders. Hugs.
Lots of good ideas. I like the binder clips on the file folders. I have a small, but completely full portable file box I keep music in at church and it's hard to grasp some of the folders in the hanging files. I think just adding binder clips on the folders with the most pages will help a lot and make it easier to see where each letter actually is. I purged a lot of my kitchen containers a few years ago and got square or rectangular ones and keep the lids beside or stacked on top of the mates in a drawer. I got round ones just slightly smaller than my crockpot so I can put something frozen in it to slow cook. Thanks for all of the great ideas!
I went on Amazon and ordered takeout containers like Chinese restaurants. They are great in microwave also. I bought the rectangle ( black bottom clear top). And the round. Round comes different heights, all use same size top. I have two plastic baskets one for rectangle. One for round. The difference is amazing. The rectangle take out also fit in my Alex drawers, or in the metal tool drawers for the garage. Way less expensive then most organizer baskets.bonus they stack in the refrigerator or freezer beautifully!
I loved my cubicle storage for all my scrapbooks, papers, and works in progress, so I bought new, white IKEA Kallax cubicles. I bought white photo boxes to group craft supplies. The cubicles are not the perfect size, and I wish I just had shelves. Too late. Too bad. Bins that fill the space are perfect for groups of large items. I am still trying to figure out how to make these cubicles practical for small items. In the kitchen, I maximize space by adding additional shelves. I use those white photo boxes above the cabinets for seldom used items (cookie cutters, cupcake papers, extra teabags, etc.). I am adding shelves behind (not on) doors to create pantry storage. Cans fit in boxes covered in Contac paper for a better look when the door is closed. Downsizing is HARD, so I am trying to maximize space!
Thank you for this. Brilliant ideas. I prefer to file things in lever arch files/ring binders. I prefer the tabs to be extra wide so that I can easily see them. I prefer to store plastic containers with the lids on. If you do store them with the lids off you could write underneath on each box a certain number & the same numbers on the lids, that way you know which belongs to which.
I'm so glad you mentioned numbering the container and lids. I used to do this with the cardboard puzzles my kids had. Numbered the back of the puzzle and all the pieces for that puzzle. Then they could be sure all pieces were there. Can't wait to get started with my containers and lids!!!
@@carolyorks6254 Great idea. I got this idea from 2 books by Denyse Schofield Creating an Organised Home & Creating an Organised Family & she numbered containers & puzzle pieces too. Her books really helped me to organise my kitchen etc.
Norrine, I need your help. In a previous video you mentioned a hand held vacuum cleaner that you use that has great suction (implication was that you could even pick up glitter!) but I can't find a link or any other information on it. I have one of those ladybug desk vacuums that works fine for some things but is lacking for things like glitter and other small particles that seem to follow me around. ***What vacuum is it that you love so much?*** I love your videos and enjoy finding that I have many of your tips already in place in our home. "Great minds think alike!" And yes, folding clothing and organizing them in drawers increases your storage space! We converted our master bedroom into my SECOND craft room (antique sewing machine conservation takes up a lot of room) and the small walk in closet now houses my fabric stash in file cabinets organized the same way. All my clothing except one dress and 4 skirts (those are squeezed into the end of the closet) are folded and in a 5 drawer dresser. I even have one drawer dedicated to miscellaneous storage! It has been a game changer. I sleep in one of my craft rooms, my hubby has his own bedroom, and now we both get plenty of quality rest. CPAP machines and different sleep cycles were keeping us trying to live on just a few hours of sleep a night. Life is better at 70 than it was for the past 10 years! Yes, I miss having him next to me, but I am less crabby from lack of sleep so we find other opportunities for "togetherness". Have a great day-week-life! You look amazing! Marriage agrees with you!
I got mine at Walmart - it was an open box, so it was marked down. I found it for the best price at Khols. But at least you can look at it and see if you can find it close to you. Here it is. So sorry for the long link: www.kohls.com/product/prd-4993229/tzumi-ion-vac-cordless-handheld-vacuum-cleaner.jsp?skuid=54719598&CID=shopping15&FLOOR%20CARE&CSE&CID=shopping30&SSC&CSE&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw0YGyBhByEiwAQmBEWsJyJJ6ZwvvIdWSDHWukmFo1YBbg_zR3TFBnnNYqXVSw7VAGtxB-7BoCKaYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Didn't she do great! Thanks for watching!
The chair seat storage is a great idea.
Very useful for paper plates and plastic utensils Thanks for sharing 😀
I can’t build that, so I’ll just tape the items to the underside of the chairs! 🤣

I love the binder clips idea!

Thank you! You too!
I did the exact same thing with three sizes of dollar tree storage containers. Lids on the bottom, containers above, three neat stacks. Done.
I love that!!!
I like to use the drawer front storage tray (for the kitchen sink) in the bathroom. Usually there is a false drawer front just waiting to be used.
Great suggestion!!!
My cabinet maker who built and installed all the cabinets in my kitchen and bath included these tilt out shelves.

I like the idea of numbering containers and their lids. Thanks for sharing
That's a great system for containers and lids! Thanks for sharing. :)
Whoops, I didn’t realise that I’d put prefer so many times. 😀
I love your creative, practical life solutions! Can you share a link for the bag pouches for board games? Thanks so much! 😊
Here it is.
