I love that contrast. I used to live in a small town which is very similar in that there are residential areas next to bustling roads. Now I live in the suburbs where it feels like I live in a ghost town. 😭 Sort of sad to not see busy roads.
Well, in the midst of lockdown and quarantine, it's a good thing we have your videos to remind us what it felt like walking just for the sake of it. I miss doing that... Thank you Rambalac!!!!
I'm watching this in the morning right now while eating breakfast to relax before virtual school. i hate loud videos too early in the morning. this is great relaxing stuff for some reason
That is so cool and brings back memories. I went to Tokyo in November last year, what a wonderful time. That place on the left at 48:20, I remember I sat there for about an hour, simply chilling, eating my sandwich and staring at the Skytree illuminated white and green, it got dark pretty quickly but I didn't mind, it was mesmerising. And earlier that day I went to the Sensoji Temple, you guys can imagine it was packed with tourists. That empty place you see around 1:02:00, o man, it was filled with children and laughter, the atmosphere was magical. It was a different world, just months before the darkness...
There’s a saying from a little birdie I know. “Even after the darkest of nights, morning always comes.” One day soon, we’ll all be able to fellowship and laugh with people in person again. Young and old.

My mother is a Japanese. I've been to Japan a lot of times. But I still wanna go there when I'm now living in a total lockdown in Sydney. Your Tokyo walking video is a huge entertainment and solace to all of my family. Thank you. :)
I want to go back to Japan. Been there twice, can't get enough of it. Amazing country. Thanks for these videos. I'm looking forward to going back once this situation is over.
I do love how Japan has this contrasting juxtaposition of old and new. A large, decaying wooden house that was probably once a rich estate next to modern apartment buildings, shrines next to vending machines, etc. That area does look pretty poor, though. Lots of shuttered business that appear to have been closed for many years. But the public areas have been painstakingly maintained with how new the sidewalks look. Really like the little jungle gym areas that are just in the middle of the walkways. Under normal circumstances I wonder if their would be a lot of little kids playing on them.
Not all those businesses are permanently shuttered. It looks like a lot of place (especially near asakusa) are closed due to the national emergency situation
OOOOH wow this really takes me back!!! Last year i went to japan and our stay was actually in the minami senju stop! We walked through this road everyday. I miss japan so much i really did enjoy my time roaming around the street and walking there ;_;
same here, last year I stayed in a hotel a few minutes away of Minami Senjyu, and got the chance to watch the Sumida river fireworks festival, it was really cool :)
I am legit going to plan a trip to Tokyo just because of that Rickshaw Driver, I hope he gets a pay raise and lots of customers from the video! You are so kind to let him advertise, that whole moment MADE MY DAY and was just as relaxing as the rest of the video :)
That man with the map did an excellent job! It's great that you capture real daily life for potential travelers and future documentation. That man with the map gave the video even more quality with his information. Now we know where people typically go in this era and how old that temple is. He is also very charismatic. Thanks for being patient and stopping for him.
I love this kind of video. Unfortunately it's rare on youtube. I wish someone would do this kind of content so i can see the world. Keep up the good work
There are thousands of movies like that from every part of the world here, just look for them. "Berlin walk" "New York walk" "Sydney walk" just pick a place, any place.
Loving this. Reminds me so much of my short time there. Thank you very, very much. As a suggestion, how about visiting the old districts in Kanazawa? I can highly recommend :)
I love your videos so much. Ever since I was little I have wanted to visit Japan, and I feel as if I am doing that with your channel. But it also reminds me of how lonely I feel when I travel, and how hard it is to have a genuine conversation with someone in a new city. Bittersweet :)
Thank you for this new video, each time it is a real pleasure to watch it. Right now everyone is confined and I must admit that it's a real breath of fresh air to come see your videos, I already loved Japan, but I think I like it even more thanks to your youtube channel . Really thank you!
I like to play "spot the bike lock." There's so little bike security in Japan, it's pretty amazing. Even people with those heavy ulocks get their bikes stole in America. I would love to live in a society where I could just leave my bike outside the grocery store then come back to it just being there, without having spend time locking it up.
All of those bikes generally have small locks included on the back tire when you buy the bike. Not really much of a deterrent for a thief, but they are usually locked up.
I went to Japan two years ago around this time and stayed in Asakusa. This video made me smile because I remembered all the fun times I had there. Your videos are wonderful, they bring me back to that trip. Thank you.
Your videos makes me feel like I'm walking/traveling in Japan. One day I will go in Japan too and live there. Thank you so much for this! it's kinda cool that i can also experience the places in Japan through my phone's screen haha!
A fresh start of the morning walk with a feel of calmness. I presume that not the pandemic that caused the quietness, cuz various parts of Japan is far from the maddening crowd.A marvel look of machiya style houses that was a nostalgia of old and new.Sightings of Sakura and potted flowers that blossom along the scenic view was such a blooming stroll.Ram, safeguard urself to the best of ur health."Happy EASTER"!!!🐣💐🌺🌻✌😉🤗
Thank you for this! Minami-Senju reminds me of my first night in Tokyo during my 2019 hols. I arrived just in time for the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival so a friend asked me to meet there to watch the fireworks from the park close to Suijino bridge.
thank you for this, This was the first place i saw from tokyo when i visited was this place because my hotel was in there and i used to walk from there to asakusa, you bring me so many memories thank you so much for this
Thank you so much for these videos which I find truly precious! It's immersive and meditative and eventually, transcendental. I did this same thing with my home videos years ago when I had my video camera and if I had my own way in life I would travel around the world in different countries doing this. The Amazon rainforest even. Lol But Japan is one country I long to visit for the first time so these videos like I said are special to me. Keep at it! Thanks again!
Great walking tour! My favourite was the guy trying to sell you on the tour -- that was the best / funniest thing! I was screaming at the TV, like, Rambalac can give HIM the tour!! Good stuff!
Awesome video! I enjoyed it from the treadmill! Felt like i was back! Very nostalgic! Love the green tea you bought! Delicious video! From winnipeg Canada!
i do remember this well.usaly stay in that area. minami senju is a slighty more poverty area, but has its charms though. have good memories about the area. would have come there this year also for the narita drum festival and such, but dont think that will heapen this year.corona and such :( well, atleast there is this vid :)
A walk around the Kanda river, near the Shin-Edogawa garden must be amazing at this period. I remember seing so many sakura trees there, back in winter but I couldn't get the chance to stay longer until Hanami. Thanks for your videos bringing back nice memories :)
Thank you for the video, it is very nice in this coronavirus situation, as there is a travel ban in my country. I've been to Tokyo a few times, usually in spring, and I always stayed in Minami-Senju, as there are the cheapest hotels there, and I know the surroundings of the Minami-Senju station very well, I went through there many times. Brings back the best memories.
I spent a week in Tokyo with one of my friend, and we stayed at a hotel about 10 min from Minami-Senju station, in one of the smaller streets. I loved that part, so relaxing, calm, plants everywhere. Love at first sight. :)
I love Minami Senju. We was last month the first time in Japan and live many weeks in this Part of Tokyo. I know every street in the Video. We went to asakusa too or to tokio tower. I missed Tokyo. 💞🌼💙Best wishes from Austria
I was around that part of the river at 48:00 just a month ago (the port where you buy tickets for the ferry ride to Odaiba). My family and I almost ate at the Ichiran neabry, but the long lines made us eat at another Japanese restaurant instead. Sad how things turned out since.
When my husband finishes his deployment, we are going to do everything we can to get him (and I) sent to the US Naval base in Asakusa. So happy that you don't limit yourself to just Tokyo - continue to visit different cities please!
56:00 Somebody give this guy a pay raise!
I agree, and he is so handsome!
Isn't Japan still banning foreign visitors? These guys must be getting no business. Sucks!
go to his patrion side and donate him he can need this even it 5 $ its still good cause
"You will get lots of viewers" little did he know rembalac already has quite the views 😅
He has the most subscribers of all japam pov walking channels
The person that is working the camera right now, is doing a wonderful job. I saw sights that where wonderful, thank you.
It's so relaxing walking around the empty streets of Tokyo. That old wooden house @ 29:39 is just breathtaking..
love how there is such a mix of old and new in japan! ♥️
It's always interesting to see Tokyo's residential districts. One street is as quiet as can be and three streets over you basically have a high way.
I love that contrast. I used to live in a small town which is very similar in that there are residential areas next to bustling roads. Now I live in the suburbs where it feels like I live in a ghost town. 😭 Sort of sad to not see busy roads.
this is what i LOVE about japan too!
Well, in the midst of lockdown and quarantine, it's a good thing we have your videos to remind us what it felt like walking just for the sake of it. I miss doing that... Thank you Rambalac!!!!

so glad to have him out there!

That's exactly me. Been there twice, can't get enough of the place, that's why keep coming back to Rambalac's videos.
56:00 I will be your client some day

i visited tokyo in 2015 and my stop was near Minami Senju too , i still remember the place... I wish I could go back to Japan ;w;
same for me i remember that minami senju station was my everyday view. it was so nice to watch it again i went to japan in November 2019
I miss japan so bad :( i was supposed to visit this year but due to current situation it got cancel. Please stay safe and thanks for this video.
Hmm what it like on your first trip to Japan? ....I am planning to go thier next year .
I’m supposed to go next year but that’s very doubtful now. I miss it too.
@@whitecatcosplay722 why? It'll be better next year
@@notreals.c5711 Japan is to much to describe in one comment :D Just go

Your videos remind me on the time I lived in Japan. It has a very nostalgic feeling. I hope to be able to experience it again!
It's refreshing to see so many bicycles that don't have locks. Good luck with having that in Los Angeles.
