Hi I was just wanting to ask if you’ll be reviewing the new Yamaha CX-A5200 and the MX-A5200 anytime soon as I’m saving up for these right now and I just can’t find a decent review anywhere
Hi! Not yet, but I'm not sure if they want to send it over to me. I can always ask them. I am currently working on my RX-A2080 review which should be up next week.
Hey Techno, would you use poweramp for just few channels and run others with AVR or is that bad ? Bad in a way that if you go Poweramp then all channels should be poweramp else the difference would be too much?
Sounds like this is the perfect amp for people living in condos and apartments who cant crank it through the roof. That use of class A for first 10 watts is great since even at lower volumes you will get the amp benefits. Just a matter of pulling some funds out of the air but as you said you get what you pay for. I only have a 19 inch stand top to put this on but from your review it looks like the legs are recessed a few inches from the back and front of the amp.Do you think its legs would rest on a 19 inch platform ? Thanks for your help
Really enjoyed your video! Subscribed and followed! I wonder if you can give me advice on my setup. I have a Denon AVR4300H and is going for a simple 5.2.2 setup. I have also an old Denon 3300 AVR (125 W) I believe. My LRC are Monitor Audio ( 8Ohms and 90db sensitivity), surround are SVS ultra (87 db sensitivity), Atmos are KEF Q50a (86dB). I can use my Denon 3300 as power amp for the surround and atmos speakers and just use 4300H for LRC. Is it worth to upgrade to A52+ for $3K for the extra 50W power per channel? I mean would the sound quality difference worth 3K? Should I go with Parasound A31 (250W 3 channel) about the same price for the extra power? Thank you!
Thank you for the video. Planning to buy an amp soon. I am looking at this one, Monolith 7 channel and Emotiva XPA Gen3 7 channel. I truly wonder if the law of diminishing returns applies here...
How did it do with the m&ks? I have been considering the a52+ or the older but still current a51. The a51 goes up to 400x4 in 4 ohm vs the 255x5 at 4 ohm with the 52. The mnks are rated up to 400. I am trying to decide between the two.
I hope to get the M&Ks in for this week’s episode of GOT! The A51 is a MONSTER amplifier. I would go for that if I had the money and speakers that need all that power. Contact my dealer Cory for the most updated pricing: bit.ly/TDPHTFB

Im in a condo so a lot of my listening will probably be in class A below reference level. thank so much for your help.
Hey Chana How would you compare this to the monolith 5 channel amp? Is the Parasound worth the extra $700-$1200? I’ve been wanting the monolith but since they are out of stock I’m going with the Parasound but I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra money?
How would you campare This against the Emotiva xpa-3 gen3 driving and if you now how they would do whit svs ultra L-C-R speakers..? Or any emotiva xpa amp vs this one and against the outlaw.?
@@TechnoDad I did try the Monolith 3 for my LCR but it causes the left front channel to thump. I removed the left front channel cable and turn it on for 5 mins then turn it back off then on again with cable connected and did not thump. I got the idea from one of the AV forums. It's working so far. It sounds good too. I been using an Outlaw 70000 amp for my 5.2.2 for almost a year now and I can tell the the difference between the two. The Monolith sounds fuller with deeper bass. Some of the reviewer from AV forums and RUclips said the Parasound amplifier tend to lean a bit on warm side and has better detail. Thank you for replying💎
Yo Channa D! Great Review on the Parasound A52+ but I was wondering how does this amp sound it is above neutral more rich and warm sounding right? And Is a rich warm sounding amp like the a52+ best for movies and gaming? Or is a neutral amplifier like the 7220 more ideal for movies and gaming? I wasn’t going to ask ya how it compares to the Outlaw model 5000 🤣 (not even in the same league) I am going to ask you how it compares to the Outlaws new beastly model 🦍 the 7220 which comes in at $2,800 and is almost the same price as the A52+ these 2 amps are the best amps of 2018. The 7220 is a FULLY balanced differential amp that is 7x220 watts at 8ohms and 4ohm is 330 watts per channel. The 7220 has ThermalTrak transistors that are the best available from Onsemi. It has dual toroids and signal to noise is above 125db and up to 130db! And if you use a 20a line your looking at 270 watts per channel for all 7 channels driven! Sound is neutral and is very clean using XLR’s and can handle anything you throw at its headroom is amazing. According to SpareChange this is one of the best amps that the ATI designer has designed/built that’s what Outlaws president Peter Tribeman said. The Parasound A52+ looks great for my Klipsch rf7iii ,rc64iii , rp 502s surrounds but... I not convinced that the a52+ can handle the front stage with jaw dropping authority can it?! At 5x180watts it looks kinda underpowered and seems to be more ideal for surrounds/Atmos and the value doesn’t seem to be there since it only has 5 channels and not 7 compared to the 7220. now another option is getting a Parasound A51 but it looks like a fossil it’s what 16 years old? not sure if it’s worth the $3,800-4,500 price tag 🤕 does that older amp even sound great compared to today’s amplifiers is it still worth it Techno Dad? Does the newer halos like the A52+ sound better than the A51 halo?
Hey Techno, I am using XPA-5 Gen3 5 Channel Emotiva with Marantz SR8012 - using Klipsch speakers - 440C Center, RP8000 towers and surrounds. IS it worth upgrading and trading in Emotiva for this Parasound A52+?
Thanks for the review TechnoDad! I wish there was some palpable way of conveying and justifying the sound difference between amps as there seems to be a massive price gap between Emotiva/Outlaw and the Parasound/Rotel/Other ($500-$800 vs. $4000+) and I haven’t seen a brand that actually makes a range of products that fit between the two extremes. I wonder why that is? Fair enough if you have a massive dedicated room with difficult-to-drive speakers and you need the power, but in standard living room or small room setups I find that kind of price hike difficult to justify. I own an Emotiva UPA-500 that works well and every time I see these other pricey amps I scratch my head and wonder what they would actually offer me that my UPA can’t. Wish I could do an A/B comparison. What are your thoughts?
Hi! Great questions! If you look at Emotiva’s XPA line, that does bridge the gap in price point. I just received the XPA9 which will power my 9 channel Atmos/DTSX setup and comes in at $2k. That’s not too bad!! Every amplifier has a certain tone that it imparts on speakers. There’s also noise floor, heat dissipation, low ohm stability, transformer and component size. Those are the things you look for in an amplifier, and of course power output. I personally sit about 14ft away from the front stage and an external amp is important in my setup to get the desired volume level where we sit. That’s not a normal living room situation. It really is hard to say through a video or written word what the difference is. Being in the room and being able to A/B the amplifier is truly the only way to get an idea of what’s different. And who knows, the difference might not be noticeable right away. For instance, I tried those bi-wire cables and didn’t notice a difference right away, but after about one week I noticed the speakers were performing better.
Hi JJ! I would have to ask, but I think I'm getting other brands in like Polk Audio, Focal, and maybe some Sonus Faber. That's already quite a lot of speakers, LOL! I'll contact M&K and see what's up. Most of the time these companies want to send out their newest models, so if the LCR 750s are older, it's harder for me to get them in.
@@TechnoDad Yes sir they are plenty of speakers. Appreciate the work. I looked into it, they should be at least about as old as the 150s you reviewed. Hope they'll agree if you get a chance. Looking forward to Focal and Sonos!
What's happening Techno Dad. I'm in need of some sound advice. I recently purchased a pair of Premier Acoustic PA 8.12 speakers and I'm thinking about pushing them with the Onkyo TX-RZ 820. The speakers are rated at 4 ohms and the power output is 200-400 watts. Do you think that this reciever is enough to power my speakers in a bi-amp configuration ? Thanks in advance for your advice.😇👍👍👍
Hi Clarence! I think you should be fine, but I wouldn't expect to be coming close to that 200 - 400 watts the speakers can handle. For that, you would need a dedicated power amp. Not to say that the Onkyo 820 will not power they speakers, they will.
there are definitely diminishing returns though when it comes to sound quality, when I worked for magnolia the margins on audio equipment were crazy, i got basically a 60% employee discount because the discount is 5% over cost, so i was able to compare many models. thanks again techno dad
Did u buy a amp yet Cal D? I’m upgrading rp280fs to the rf7iii because I have the rc64iii Center I’m looking at the Outlaw 7220 amplifier Audioholics and Spare change did a review on it. For $2800 I think it may be better than the Parasound amps because it is a FULLY BALANCED differential amp with XLR and RCA inputs and puts out 7x220 watts of power and it is made by ATI according to outlaw they said that ATI who made it for them made one of the best amps ever. It runs very cool and for the price point it can’t be beat. it is a more neutral amp
Straight6supra ah I did not know it was fully balanced/differential. No I haven’t purchased another amp yet. I’m debating on which one. Even considering a 2Ch amp since I have a 7ch Outlaw 7000x now powering my 5.1.4 set up
I’m trying to figure more out on the Parasound a52+ amp I don’t know if it is fully balanced? I think it might be A lot of people seem to speak highly of it. I’m wondering if it’s worth the $200 extra compared to the Outlaw 7220? So with the 7220 it is fully balanced and it has 40 extra watts per channel compared to the Parasound A52+ and has 7 channels vs the 5 with the Parasound. I’m not sure if those extra 40 watts will make a huge difference probably some extra punch but having 2 extra channels is a bonus. Cal D what kinda receiver are you using and how many speakers are you hooking up to your system? I have been on the fence myself about which amps to get Outlaw,Parasound,Rotel I plan on upgrading my current 7.1.2 system to separates and going 9.2.6 Here is the review on the Outlaw 7220 m.ruclips.net/video/7AuLw9_J7YI/видео.html

I just want to bring the best musicality. Please, i need your professional opinion if this is a good pairing of PreAmp & Amplifier. Thank you>
I had p5 a21 combo. P5 broke twice in a year. Sold everything, a 24 year old bryston 4b st sounds much much cleaner. The a21 had this warmness to it which turned into distortion at louder levels. Never again will i go with parasound.
Monoprice probably doesn't do review loaners. I thought Audio Advisors was the only authorized dealer for new Parasound. The A52+ is not in the AA current catalog. Maybe on the website. The 5 channel Parasound amp in the catalog is the A51 at $4795.It has 8 output transistors per channel. I bet the Outlaw 5000 has only 4.
Monoprice does send out loaners, just had to find the correct person to contact. I'm not sure why AA doesn't have the A52+. I would certainly contact my dealer Cory for any Parasound gear: bit.ly/TDPHTFB

Yeah, it’s all about how much you want to spend. And yes, the mark up on this gear is super high!!
Thanks for the video.... Please make an amp classes video!!!
Will do!
How did the RF7IIIs Sound with this amp compared to the Outlaw amp? I’m curious if I should upgrade my amp
I have been on the fence myself about which amps to get Outlaw,Parasound,Rotel I plan on upgrading my current 7.1.2 system to separates and going 9.2.6
Here is the review on the Outlaw 7220

great review, well for that price you can have a 7 ch amp like you say this one is a beast but XPA from Emotiva can sure compete...
Great review of PArasound A52+. Brief but very precise. However, im in a process of getting a Emotiva XPA5 Gen3 (as my Amp) to be paired with Rotel RC1590 (as my Pre-Amp) to drive the Martin Logan Motion 60XTi (standing speaker), motion 50Xti as center channel and REL 7Ti sub. I just want to bring the best musicality. Please, i need your professional opinion if this is a good pairing of PreAmp & Amplifier. Thank you>
Good choice! I think you'll love that combo!
Techno Dad Thanks a million !
Agree, sweet unit, but that price, ouch. I have the Outlaw 5000 and love it!
Nice!
Great video, awesome amp
Thank you sir!
I had p5 a21 combo. P5 broke twice in a year. Sold everything, a 24 year old bryston 4b st sounds much much cleaner. The a21 had this warmness to it which turned into distortion at louder levels. Never again will i go with parasound.
That's lame. At least you found something you like better!
Just buy the new JC5 and then the A52+ for the surrounds
Yeah, I need to power 10 speakers so I’ll still be short. That JC5 is a beast though!
To all of those who aren’t ordering from Cory, you are overpaying!
That’s true!!
Sir a amp Vídeo please
Now compare to Monoprice Monolith 5 channel made by ATI.
Haven’t had one of those in yet
I bet the Parcel Delivery guys hate you:-)
Lol!!
