Ronnie, you are very, very talented and amazing at freerunning/parkour, but I'd like to see a bit of training methods to help us with our core and the flexibility needed to split and side flip and to strengthen our feet so we are able to run better, faster, and longer. Thanks :D
Hey Ronnie, I love all your videos and tutorials. How many frames per second does your camera record? Cause it would be really cool to see your move break-downs and slo-mo parts in 60 or 120 FPS. Keep it up man!
I have Them down but I see experienced trickers such as you and epic have a nice roundhouse swing through and a rather effortless horizontal spin. When I do it I land two feet at the same time and it is slightly off axis and not very high. I need Help!!
I get that I may be in a minority here, but I really dislike flashy tricks like this. Ronnie does an excellent job at it, and I think he is very talented and I love the videos he puts up. I've always admired parkour / freerunning for the elegant way that it efficiently overcomes obstacles. Doing tricks like these, while probably great for developing kinesthesia and body conditioning, are kind of counter-productive for that efficient elegance -- why run at a wall, run up it flip and then run in the other direction? What did that accomplish? Go look for that classic video "Run Jump Escape" -- there's no room for flashy wall kicks or unnecessary flips. The beauty is in the simplicity... I mean.. as simple as you can be when you're gapping rooftops and diving out of windows.
I appreciate your thoughts. I love simple movements but I also find joy in seeing what kind of movement my body is capable of. In the end It doesn't matter what I am doing so long as I do it safely and have fun doing it.
Ronnie Street Stunts I get that. And like I said -- I understand the desire to really explore that creative space and everything, and I did not intend it to be a criticism of you or your work. In your experience, is there a differentiating label between different parkour styles? Should there be? I see a place for the trick-heavy flashy type of parkour (ie. using an urban setting as a jungle gym for awesome acrobatics) but also one for the more simplistic utilitarian type that I was referring to earlier.
Aaron H Hey no worries I know what you were saying. I feel it's important to acknowledge the difference of mind set more so then movement. Originally parkour was based on efficient movement, and free running based more on creative movement. But there is a lot of overlapping in movements, so I don't feel the terms are as important as the individuals mindset when performing or training. What is the person thinking when doing the movement? Are they training for efficiency? Or for style? Or just developing body control and self awareness? You wouldn't always know unless you asked the person doing the movement.
+Aaron H No opinion is inferior or wrong, but this is where I'm going to point yours as an outlier of this. That is the LITERAL definitive difference between PARKOUR and FREERUNNING. Two different styles of movement. You prefer the artistic useful sport known as parkour, whereas other people, including me, prefer the expressive style of tricking and freerunning. Put differently, do you tell a tennis player that you dislike their style because you are a basketball player?
Awesome tutorial! I learned it in about 30 - 45 minutes and i didnt even know how ro butterfly kick before i saw this (i saw the butterfly tutorial after watching this so i could learn this)
Hello ronnie I've learned the butterfly kick and im trying to do the butterfly b Twist but im afraid of rotating while in mid air do u have any suggestions or practice that i can take over the fear??
I practice on carpet. If I'm too scared to do something on carpet, I can't do it at all. I'm just having trouble getting the twist. All I end up doing is just a butterfly kick, but over rotating and landing facing the way I started XD
ronnie i request uu to make a very advanced and easy tutorial on the btwist so i can learn it very fast and for others also it will be easy so make a very easy tutorial
impossible awesome just really work on the punch and rotation and also make sure to spot your landing because unlike other tricks the btwist is a lot of trial and error and the actual landing is different from other tricks
hey, ronnie, how did you get over the fear of flipping? I myself am pretty good at parkour basics, but I just can't get over the fear of falling on my neck. pls help.
Thanks for the tutorial I was practicing in the livening room and I landed it but I landed low and stubble and went face first in a stand and no the living room is not small so the moral of the story is I btwisted into a stand(table type thing)
Ronnie does more of an A twist
agreed
Ya

+Ronnie Street Stunts i think doing tricking makes my mind more creative and so i can think fast for flow

Use sand mate, when I'm practicing this I usually try to do it on sand. It doesn't hurt that much if you fall
I practice on carpet. If I'm too scared to do something on carpet, I can't do it at all.
I'm just having trouble getting the twist. All I end up doing is just a butterfly kick, but over rotating and landing facing the way I started XD

Find a gymnastics centre with foam pits and progress to mats then outside from there =]
thanks :3
Ronnie and others my friend says parkour is just about running on people roofs and causing destruction what should I do
So I've got the butterfly kick down but this one is hard because I can't seem to get the twist and I don't have a gym to train at any advice?
Use sand mate, it doesn't hurt as much if you fall.
I don't know why, but when I do the butterfly kick, I don't get enough height and find myself not getting my body horizontal enough. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the tutorial I was practicing in the livening room and I landed it but I landed low and stubble and went face first in a stand and no the living room is not small so the moral of the story is I btwisted into a stand(table type thing)
Does it matter if your left foot touches the ground first instead of your right?
After I jump, I can't seem to get my right leg to go around my body.

How do you learn these tricks
Ronnie I can do the motion of the b twist but something does not feel right
Alim Pamir Gurler you might just be worrying dont worry about it just think about it like i can do it its ok if you fall

Yep. Butterfly twist. Sometimes a butterfly kick is also called a B Kick.
