Sometimes the only way we become aware of the sheer quantity is when we start investing in storage. 😄 Unless it's a business or legit investment, there's always a root psychological cause for the superficial impulse. But I suppose that part of the journey toward simplicity is to experience wading through the mires of excess. How else would we gain the wisdom eh? 😉 Appreciate your thoughts!
Brilliant insights, I agree investing in more storage has also made me realise my move towards minimalism is failing! (I’m also not a minimalist at heart, oh the irony!). I’ve realised reading so many interesting comments and videos on this topic it’s a personal journey and conviction for each individual in question. We live and learn! Oh how I love this hobby but it doesn’t come without it’s limitations. Thank you for sharing your insights my friend! 😊
Obsession with fragrances isn't merely a hobby; it manifests as impulsive consumer behavior. It mirrors habits seen in impulsive shopping for clothes, makeup, shoes, and more. Often, the purchase isn't about enjoying or using the fragrance but rather acquiring it, experiencing its scent briefly, and then letting it sit unused on furniture indefinitely.
Exactly, a great point. It goes deeper than just simply buying as a hobby and can become incredibly unhealthy! It is as you said about briefly experiencing that sent then moving on! A shame, as when you really take your time to appreciate a fragrance you can always discover something new and special about it each time you wear it. Thank you for sharing 😊
After years of wanting and collecting more and more. Chasing the next new thing ...even though i have a good knowledge of what is perfumery behind the finished over the counter product ...i came to the conclusion that its seven. Yes 7. For each day of the week, that i can call a Need...the rest is just a Want, and i do not want it ( the Want part ) anymore. Once you have spent a few thousand $ on these perfumes left and right , you get that not very many will give you " that feeling " , its actually easy to come up with 5 or 10 that are the special ones. Im sick of the collecting era. Shoes, make up , perfumes , wigs, lovers, watches, cars ...its like can we slow down a minute ? 😂
Very wise, 7 is a great number, you can then finish them and rotate and replace accordingly. Perhaps it’s a rabbit hole for those of us who enjoy collecting various items/have a certain personality type! Thank you for your insights 😊
I find fragrances extremely therapeutic, candles, food, perfumes, incense etc.
I saw myself going down a rabbit hole a few years ago and didn’t like most of them. I hate having things I don’t use. I sold most of them and kept the ones that I “truly” love.
I have 24 and I love and enjoy them all.
I’m not addicted and not interested in the next fragrance but I do enjoy sampling from time to time and every now and then I discover a new “love”.
That’s a very healthy approach, 24 is a perfect number and doesn’t mean you can’t add a fragrance here or there that you love as you finish others. As you wisely said there’s also a frustration that come from not using things you own! Thanks for sharing 😊❤️
Absolutely spot on about the more you have the less you can enjoy them.
Yes it’s the reality 😊
I'm a former collector trying to sell my last handful... THANK YOU for saying "You don't need to buy it..." . I'm always thinking about this topic and how it's such an incredible luxury to even be able to discuss owning a fragrance. It is a luxury. Not a need. Cheers!
Your absolutely right, it’s a luxury to be in the position we’re in! Slowing down and reminding ourselves it’s not necessary to buy everything we “love” is a healthy realisation. Thanks for sharing 😊
I have just over 80 though I’m at crossroads in this predicament - I feel overwhelmed by the amount but I love them too much to de clutter and give away 😩😅
I get where your coming from…. I’m about 120 and counting 🙈 I am feeling overwhelmed too. I’m trying to use up and slow down otherwise I won’t have anymore space lol! 😂😊
I think 120 is a lot. I get it we sometimes think that we need them all. With most things, what you have not used in a year or two you don't really need. Try to reduce to to say firstly 100 by giving to friend as family. Wait maybe I am talking to myself. I have a lot of perfumes but really some I don't need. I will start by counting how many I have then start reducing. It is a wake up call for me to question myself before buying, if it is necessary and if I do really need. Blind buying is a no from now on.
I agree, always best to start with what we’re not reaching for. Our tastes naturally do change over which is normal. I’ve given quite a few fragrances away in the past to family. Currently I’m enjoying finishing off bottles which makes me happy. I’m definitely not buying at the same rate anymore. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😊
It’s definitely hard to stop yourself. Best thing I did was got me a stand that’ll hold limited amount of fragrances. Once it’s full I stop myself from getting anything new. It also helps me with only getting fragrances I love and not just getting fragrances just to them.
Clever idea, I think for me as a fragrance lover I’ll always enjoy testing new fragrances and seeing what’s available but I don’t necessarily need to own everything I love and that’s ok. I may still pick something up now and again if I really really love something but I definitely won’t be purchasing in the same way I once was. Thanks for sharing 😊
I see a lot of people talk about perfumes, own a large collection with a full bottles that has never been used, that is bizarre to me!
I would love to see a declutter video, I may join you because I want to half my collection because it's getting overwhelming😅Thank you for sharing your perspective bro, I enjoyed the video💛💛💛💛💛
Yes sis, very bizarre! But to each their own! I’ll definitely do a declutter type video/fragrances I’m over type of video and explain my reasons! Always healthy to let go of what we don’t need or use. I’d love to see an updated declutter from you also sis! Thanks for watching 😊❤️❤️
I don’t judged people that have huge collections but I am sorry to say this but I think influencers have a lot to answer for on this, people see haul videos and feel inadequate, I need this I need that and it’s a downward spiral into full addiction, if your that way inclined…I do not always think haul videos are good things to watch, especially in this current climate when a lots of people are struggling to buy food and heating….I am not criticising you of course I think this video is a good one, and I do think three is a good number, if you can afford it..
I agree, needless overconsumption is often pushed and encouraged by a lot of influencers. Also a lack of honesty and transparency hasn’t helped either in this regard. Influencers are often sent a lot of free fragrance PR to review regardless of how they feel about a particular brand. I think the sheer amount of releases and hype within fragcomm definitely adds to this, but some personal accountability needs to also be held by those of us whom lack some self control, myself included 🙈! But you make some very valid points.
How many bottles do you currently own out of interest? 😊
@@I_am_gids ohh how many p, not many at all and they were presents, but thank you so much, I really wasn’t getting at you….And I really do love your videos by the way.xx
Oh no offence taken Karen, all opinions are valid and welcome. Thank for commenting as I do agree with your points, it’s a balance, getting excited for new and existing releases but not over consuming at such an alarming rate you can’t enjoy your acquisitions! Thanks for your kind words xxx
Dialling it back from oversumption, do you have a view on collecting vintage bottles left idle? I digress. I would encourage beginners to start with 5ml and 10ml decants and once they finish a sample then consider if they want a full bottle. Slow it down, rotate frags, savour what you have and adhere to a fixed number with 1 in 1 out. Fragrance (insert any hobby) can be an addiction tied to the hedonic treadmill.
I find collecting vintage bottles left idle to be in a special category, they’re often very hard to find but perhaps overconsumption can also become overwhelming?
Great tips regarding starting with 5/10ml and samples etc. That helped me discover and figure out what might/might not work for me.
A bit of discipline like you said in actually finishing full bottles first is a great idea for a beginner/average collector! It can definitely be a constant hedonic treadmill like you said! Thanks for your input! 😊
This is a subjective topic. For me I have many fragrances. I wear multiple fragrances layered at 1 time. I not only wear spray fragrances but also oils and scented shea butters. Not 1 time do I ever smell like a single fragrance.
I don't ever pay full retail for anything. I get them heavily discounted. I never feel the need to get the newest/latest thing. I just get what I like that is at the price point I am willing to pay.
Interesting, I think that’s great if your able to wear and rotate through what you have. Not paying full retail is definitely smart, and taking a slow measure approach is the way forward. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙌🏽
You forgot oxygen and Givenchy Gentleman needed to survive...
🤣🤣🤣 thanks for making me laugh! 😊
How many fragrances do you need? I mean, well, none, lol. I have fallen into the obsessive fragrance buying loop on and off over the years. I don't have a huge amount of bottles, about 40. That might seem like a lot to some, but compared to other collections, it's a baby amount, lol. I have been in this recent loop since beginning of April. It started with purchases for my bday, than mothers day. Probably spent about 600 in one month and now I'm just like "ok crazy, time to simmer down." lol. Financially, it's kind of ok. My bills are paid and that's all good but I'm like damn...really should be saving that. (sigh) I'm putting a pause on my fragrance purchases for now. They're just so much damn fun to research, buy, and experience.
Yes, it is a lot of fun to research and buy new fragrances, but many of us myself included are guilty of doing this at such a fast rate we don’t even realise how much we even own!
Then it becomes a bit overwhelming and we begin to forget what we even have! I did recently but two fragrances as a belated birthday present to myself. But that will be it for me for a long while, as like you I acquired so much in such a short space of time, it’s more than enough. I’ll still play around with samples and may buy one here and there but I certainly won’t be purchasing in the same manner. 😊
Do your self a favour. Choose 10 you love. Take ur time to choose. Don’t buy Armani Profumo and then buy another freshi. Buy one or two freshis, don’t go oh yah that’s awesome n so is this. When u run out of those then u can try the other one be smart
Thing is I’m naturally always so curious to know what’s coming out, what different types of rose fragrances smell like from brands I love.
Good thing is I’m really slowly doing on my purchases and that way rediscovering what I have use and love and letting the rest go. Have even finished a couple of bottles! Hurrah! 😊
I believe fragrance addiction is real. I have cut back significantly on buying perfume. Initially due to my $ being funny lol. But I learned to enjoy what I have & not buy so quickly i.e. because of the hype. I take my time & sample. I want my fragrances to all be loves lol. Tfs Gids 😊
Hi Nikki, thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend and hope your well. I agree fragrance addiction is definitely a thing, overconsumption is never healthy. Glad your taking your time to enjoy what you currently have and sampling. I agree when you slow down and take your time, you can be more considered and are more likely to buy what you really love rather than just hype! ❤️😊
@@I_am_gids💛
Man, I’ve got so many things I’m not wearing it’s crazy. Dope video.
Thank you sir, I can relate, trying to rotate through everything can be a task. Glad you can relate 🙈
I'm at 165 fragrances. If it wasn't for multiple rounds of gifting and decluttering, the number would be at least double that 😅My goal is to further reduce the collection because as you mentioned, I don't wear the ones I truly love enough since there are so many and choosing what to wear becomes a chore.
I’m in the same boat! I’ve got far too many fragrances for my personal liking and space capacity. I have fragrances everywhere and it’s getting a bit overwhelming.
Like you I just want to wear what I truly love, happy to let some go. It doesn’t mean I won’t be buying anything in the near future but not nearly in the same quantity or short space of time! Also I’ve rediscovered so many gems that I’m excited to wear! Thanks for commenting! 😊
Fragrance addiction is definitely a real thing, I know I'm addicted that's why I don't just buy to add to my collection, I am very mindful and I check my collection to make sure I don't have something similar. However if Penhaligon's release a fragrance tomorrow, my first thought is to buy it🙈😃
Welp Penhaligons have a new release coming I’ve heard! So I’ll be waiting on your review 😆
I appreciate your honestly sis but I also know how much you love Penhaligons and are not just a “collector “. It’s important to check in, many of us into this hobby have addictive personality traits/tendencies or an aversion to “collect” so nothing wrong with keeping it in check! I don’t believe in no buys either because you’ll may over indulge when it ends. Just wanted to share my thoughts and hear from you lovely lot! ❤️❤️
Agreed with everything you said.... I feel guilty for having things I didn't use and knew I wasn't a collector but enjoyed the artistry of fragrances.
Bit depressing lol but weirdly I once thought how many years I have too live to wear all these fragrances, so often humbles me to stop buying. Good content as usual Gids take care x
That was one of the motivations for this video so thank you for sharing that. Most of us “frag heads” wouldn’t be able to wear half of what we own in this lifetime.
I’m no different and will most likely buy more this year being totally honest, but at a much slower and more considered rate! Thanks for your insights! Btw sensational biscuit is the best name ever! 😂❤️❤️
I agree. I stopped at 5. Once I got a "memento mori" from thinking that I will die and most of the bottles will still be full.
And because of that. I wear them daily, I no longer save them for "special occasions".
Yes please always wear what you have! Every day we’re blessed to be here is cause for celebration!
if you really like something you should buy it even if it is a 'bad financial investment'. the spiritual reward of knowing that you earned something you appreciate is worth it. that being said it makes a lot more sense to purchase samples initially and make your decision after careful analysis of at least a few mls. it would probably take 5 years just to get through all the samples of every fragrance that's out there.
I agree, I say the same on a lot of things “get it out of your system” then move on, within reason of course! Especially for those of us who like you said work hard and enjoy small rewards 😊
I agree to an extent. This whole "if you love it just buy it, even if it's a bad financial investment" can do more damage than good to others. Most people don't have good spending habits, and this only encourages more unnecessary spending.
Sure, if you have that much dough that spending between $250-$1000 on a month only on fragrances is pocket change for you, then by all means, knock yourself out. But let's be honest here... *that* most likely isn't the case for most people in stores now at days.
I think exercising financial responsibility is important but sadly most people don’t have good spending habits in general. I’ve seen this across the board. Fortunately I’ve always been able to find good deals on the large majority of fragrances I’ve purchased but I still have to be wise, budget accordingly and manage my spending wisely. Good points, thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
A good video for thought! I say 3-10 is a healthy number. Not too long ago I realized I could have my Birkin already if I didn’t have all these fragrances 😂😂 but this year, my main focus will be fragrances that I really love and have wanted for a while (mainly Roja and Clive). Great video! Thanks for sharing 😊
I think that is healthy and you can definitely use them up and add accordingly. The birkin is on its way J, I have been bitten by the Hermes bug, I got a small decorative piece and now want more, including the avalon blanket and other homeware items! Basically I need to stop buying fragrances too! 🙈😩
@@I_am_gids omg!! I think the blanket will be great! I love the mugs they have. Yes, we will have our thing!!
I love the brand, the homeware is so elegant and classic, the mugs are beautiful. I love the mosaic collection. Also looked at some sneakers which are so well made…. 😊
I agree fragrance addiction is very real, just like having a handbag or shoe addiction
Absolutely! Overconsumption of any kind isn’t healthy! ❤️
909...only bought one this year though. Never gone into debt for this hobby but I am totally overwhelmed. Like yourself, I'm not a seller and I know very few people who wear fragrances.
I think, like with clothes and shoes, it's replacing whatever is missing, but it's become an unhealthy hobby rather than an enjoyable one, but just one purchase this year, which was stupid cheap upon recommendation (and disappointing) is a vast improvement. Sadly I've lost interest in everything the past two years and people want to know what I want for my birthday (apparently donate to charity isn't an option!).
Need to start trimming collection as I'm not getting any younger.
Fragrance, like anything, can be addictive.
909! Wow, Now that is a collection I want to see. (yes, I know, not the point of this comment or the video, lol.) Sometimes the purchasing, although it is in reality- out of control, is a strange way of having a sense of control (over something)...at least for me.
That’s a huge collection, and I’m sure you have so many beautiful gems.
It’s great you never went into dept for this hobby like you said, some sadly have.
I think once we begin to feel overwhelmed it’s the beginning of the realisation we have too much.
Perhaps you can start by giving some away through FB groups? The ones you know you simply haven’t reached for in years?
I wish there were more meet ups where we could swap and gift others what we don’t need anymore.
May I ask your current favourites/most worn? I’m so intrigued.
Thanks for sharing 😊
I’m intrigued to know more too….. 😊
And somehow I ended up with over 1500 bottles in 3.5 years of collecting 😮
Wow! How do you manage to keep track and store them where you can see? I’m interested. Sure you have some beautiful gems! 😊
@@I_am_gids Metal racks in a closet. I organized them alphabetically by house. That helps me sort of get to the right area. Then I have the expensive niche ones on acrylic risers on the top shelf so they are nicely displayed instead of crammed together in rows on the racks. The backup bottles in bins and they are labeled with the house name on the outside so I can find them easier
Clever organisation system, brilliant you’ve got a good system in place! It’s not easy so well done 😊
i have about 50 bottles.. itried going down on 10 but i think 20 is the least i could go for my needs LOL
50 is manageable! Some have 10 times that, as long as you genuinely enjoy and love what you own that’s all that matters!
I have Niche, designer, & cheapies. Don’t waste your money on cheapies. Be careful with the Niche. Once you buy the Creed, PDM, etc. you won’t want anything else. & your wallet will take a hit!! I have some great designer fragrances, but I hardly reach for them anymore. You get what you pay for, & the high dollar scents are on their own level. Fragrances are like an outfit. It’s exciting to decide which to wear, & what you want to smell like on that particular day.
I agree, you definitely do get what you pay for in a lot of cases, going down the “cheapie” route often drains the bank account. I’m enjoying what I have and definitely feel better for saving more money as a result! Thank you for your input 😊
I just buy samples now, ha i only buy a bottle of one pefume that speaks to me
Smart decision! I agree sampling saves so much headache disappointment in the long term!
Sampling is the way to go (can also be surprisingly expensive...if you also have a large sample wishlist, lol). I learned this with my first blind buy. It was Ballerina N1 from Rosine and I absolutely hated it. Sold it eventually. Vowed to never buy another expensive fragrance without sampling first.
That’s true, sampling will save so much headache and money in the long run!
I think 3 fragrances is the least amount you could have while still have a bit of variety:
1) a versatile, year round, signature scent.
2) one for hotter weather/daytime.
3) and one for colder weather/evenings.
I think for a true fragrance lover owning just three is a challenge, but your absolutely right, that’s all you need! And once you finish one you can get something new at a more slow and steady pace. Thanks for sharing! 😁
have also spend thousands of dollars and i am asking myself why. i mostly work from home and do not go outside as often as pre COVID , so fragrances mostly sit or i can use them while working from home. if i would work from office all week , that is another thing , but i got too many even for that
Do you plan to let some go? It seems once we know and understand we have too many it’s the beginning of having a collection which we can use and love…. No judgement! 😊
You're in denial. One the one hand you say fragrance addiction is a real thing. On the other hand you say moving forward you're going to continue buying fragrances but at a "slower pace". That's like an alcoholic saying i have a drinking problem but I'll just cut back on the number of drinks i have a day. Jeeez.
Not in denial, please don’t try to “diagnose” me respectfully. I appreciate fragrances, I’m not an “addict” and saying I’m not ever going to buy fragrances isn’t realistic. Thanks for watching and commenting. Best wishes.
It ain't that deep
Here's how you stop buying unnecessary fragrances , think of the damage they are doing to your body with all the synthetic chemicals, I have collected too many and spent unnecessary amounts of money, your health comes first
Don't spray on skin , spray on clothes
That’s a fair point, I’ve stopped spraying directly on my neck area for some time. I do love scent in general, be it from candles, nature, food so I’ll always be intrigued and enjoying sampling new and existing fragrances but I don’t need to buy it like you said! Thanks for commenting 😁
I love fragrances but I know I don’t need 500, I just get my staples and the things I want to try or have for a certain amount of time I get as samples. That’s the way I get to try multiple fragrances without over collecting and wasting money. I just hate purchasing a full bottle and it never gets used.
That’s very smart, it’s always fun to sample different things and see what’s around especially with new brands. I don’t also feel every fragrance we like we necessarily need to “own!” 😊
At the moment i have 24- 25 bottles, I casually wear them around the house after a shower or whenever I go out. My biggest regret is buying so many because my taste has changed over the years, but I still wear them for the sake of not letting them go to waste
Well, I think you can wear them and apply them liberally. Regrets are normal when you own a large quantity of anything. 24-25 is reasonable, as you can finish them off and focus on what you love and stick to that for the time being! Thanks for sharing…. 😁
I need them all 😂
🙈😂
About 30 in my collection and already feel it's in excess. Started pulling out the old ones to finish them and trim my stock of fragrances. Thank you for admitting it's an addiction.
That’s wise, 30 is still plenty to choose from. It can be an addiction when aimlessly buying and buying and never feeling satisfied. It’s a great feeling to finish a fragrance! 😅
How good is the Aqua Di Parma??
Wonderful, classy and timeless!

Hey hey bro 🤗🤗
Hey dearest sis! How are you? ❤️❤️
Hello my dear friend! 🤩It's so nice to see you here!. I absolutely loved your video and I couldn't agree more in so many of your points, especially regarding your main topic. Love these chit chat kinda videos keep them coming 😍😍😍😍
Aww thank you so much my lovely friend! That’s so kind, I’ll definitely do more soon! 😊❤️❤️❤️
Hi! New sub here 😃
Hello 😊
For me the right number is when every perfume has a purpose. Some of mine are for memories of people that are no longer here, some for winter, some for warmer days… but nowadays I think I need to create real categories and curate my collection. I collect for a long time and must say I regret to sell some, but that is the small part. Anyway, it is fun to revisit your collection, curate and clean the excess (and maybe find the gaps).
Yes exactly, when a fragrance has a purpose it’s like a perfect fit to a massive jigsaw, and you’ll actually wear and enjoy it. What’s great is when you stop buying and consuming so much you rediscover what you have, enjoy and love, so many fragrances will remain forgotten and unused which is such a shame. Interesting points and thanks for sharing 😊
I stopped whit this addiction after buying 20 Arabic fragrances (BIG MISTAKE, NOT GOOD AT ALL) now I just keep my collection small, smart and only original fragrances (around 35 bottles of my favorites ones).
Interesting, those Middle Eastern fragrances are so popular, that’s very clever you got it down to a sensible number. Do you have any tips? 😊
What's wrong with Arabic fragrances? That's all I buy now. This is depressing but true video.
Hope you’re doing well Gids, it’s been a little while! I remembered a while ago you promised a q&a when you reached 1k subs, and I’d love to see you do one when you’re back 🤗 Hope I’m not too cheeky asking 💜
Hello Felicity!
Yes yes it’s coming! I’ll announce in a video to ask me anything, hope your well. Just been so bogged down with work 😩❤️
I came across your video searching for "fragrance addiction"
I have over 100 bottles myself + samples + decants (don't even want to count how many that would be in total)...
The thing is that there are not any fragrances I dislike in my collection... I love some more than others, but I wore and can still see myself wearing all of them depending on occasion...
I can relate to that feeling of shame and the fact that I wear some fragrances way too little and they are collecting dust, even though they smell awesome...
I thought to myself that I could wear Zino by Davidoff for a few years and I would not go through that 125ml bottle soon because that is quite strong and it is also a versatile, old-school scent... It also is the least expensive one in my collection.. So needless to say that I have mixed feelings about owning so many and having spent so much on them...
Thanks for your video!... Does help!
Cheers!
Don’t feel a sense of “shame” about your collection. You have amassed some gorgeous fragrances I’m sure which bring you great joy. The key now is really enjoying what you currently have, rediscovering what you haven’t worn in a while and thinking about what you might be able to possibly sell/giveaway and take it from there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😊
You need 5-6 fragrances.
I have:
1. Afnan 9PM (Le Male); Sweet, fresh, vanillic.
2. Afan 9AM Deep Dive (Bleu de Chanel/YSL Y); Fresh, sweet, incense.
3. Afnan Modest Une (Sauvage EDP); Fresh, and spicy.
4. Cremo Black Vanilla and Spice (Spicebomb Extreme); fresh, warm, soothing.
5. Cremo Hemp and Golden Amber (Bad Boy Le Parfum); wild card, fresh, and different.
6. Ambroxan or ISO e Super; minimalistic, break, different, for layering. Or to be worn by themselves.
Anything more than 6... Is wasting money.
And the fragrances I listed they have the perfect balance of sweetness and darkness.
I do have designer fragrances; but I rarely use them, and I don't know if my taste changed, but I can no longer tolerate them.
For example, The One by D&G it reaches the bottom notes rather quickly to a cedarwood, leaf tobacco, and amber. The scent is extremely light, yet sickeningly sweet and linear.
I loved The One when it came out, and since I didn't know about balances, and later learning about them with Aaron Terrence Hughes. I can't tolerate it. I get a headache after awhile from smelling the linear sweetness.
With the fragrances I listed. You have the sweetness either balanced with white musk, incense, or Ambroxan giving you a ying and yang effect. You smell the sweetness and later you get wafts of musk, incense, or Ambroxan keeping your nose from getting tired.
Those 6 fragrances cover every day, every occasion, and every situation.
Everything else, you will find out how they smell similar or share similar notes; the dry down of The One smells just like the dry down of Banana Republic Black Walnut; Cedarwood and leaf tobacco.
That’s a clever way of categorising your scents to be used and serve the function they were intended for. Six is a healthy number and you can keep track of what you have and perhaps what isn’t working for you. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Well for me i like vintage which can be a little pricey but you cant just run Kohls or Macys and buy them.
Vintage fragrances are beautiful and have a special charm. I’m sure they bring you great joy which is a treasure, it’s also sustainable. Do you have a favourite vintage fragrance? 😊
I owe around 150 bottles, 70% niche and 30% designer. I honestly really really love 15 -20 bottles out of my collection that I use more regularly than the rest. So I'll say 20 bottles is my number. I can live with those.
That’s very interesting, I appreciate your honesty. Seems a similar story for a lot of us myself included. The more you have the more overwhelmed it can all become. Thanks for commenting. 😊
I knew I had an addiction when I started giving away just to justify adding another.
It can be tough to control once your deep into this hobby and no buys don’t always work because you end up going crazy when they end! The realisation of an addiction is a great start!
Wish you the best in getting it under control! 😊
from 3 to 6 fragrances and it's enough, do not spend more money on something that is not necessary for living, once you realize this, you free yourself of this useless and worthless hobby, that takes you to nowhere ........... get 3, 4, 5 or maybe 6 and you are done.
Wow! A strong opinion but I understand your reasons. I think for a lot of people it brings a lot of joy, life can be tough and hard going. I think the issue I’ve had when buying too much especially in a short space of time is you can’t really enjoy your current offerings and forget what you even have. But yes an expensive hobby….. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😁

Please don't misunderstand me, I love fragrances, especially aftershaves over colognes as I must use something on my face after my daily morning shaving rituals, and I have had a lot of different fragrances back in the day, now I'm almost 62 years old and I still love to smell great, but in real life "it doesn't matter if we wear fragrance or not ", if it a personal pleasure it's ok, to please the crowd it ain't necessary as nobody really cares how you smell, then as I stated before "it isn't vital or indispensable to life" personally I think and believe satisfaction and happiness must be achieved by enjoying simple things that don't hurt others and that leave your good memories in other people's lives and not something as superfluous and shallow as how good I smell when I was alive. But you do as you feel it gives you what you are looking for.
Happy day for all. 🚵♀️
I used to feel bad about my fragrance purchases because I feel like I was spending way too much money, and I have a household and several children. now that I got introduced to clones and cheaper alternatives, that's really, really good, by the way. It doesn't feel as bad now.
That’s very true, cheaper alternatives are a way to monitor our spending when we have other financial priorities, however it can also add up. Once we recognise and monitor our spending habits we can make wise financial decisions that will hopefully not impact on our families and other responsibilities. Appreciate your honesty.
Great video ❤. For me I need 31 (1 for each day). Emotionally, I'd struggle if it was less as I just can't let go of my old school vintage and my modern loves. It is definitely an addiction. I used to justify it by saying some people spend lots on designer shoes, clothes, handbags, makeup, nails, and cars etc, whereas my splurges are massages for my back pain and perfumes 😂. I did a 14 months no buy and the 1st few months were definitely a struggle
That’s very interesting that you came to the number of 31. Still a good number but you can definitely rotate and keep track! We all justify things differently, but honesty is with ourselves is also important. Thank you for your honestly Kathy ❤️
Will said ………👍🙋 it’s me
It’s many of us! 😅

Hmmm I find this videos rather pointless. People watching your content are into fragrances, and everyone who is into fragrances knows everything you say here....
I’m sorry you feel that way. We can’t assume everyone shares the same viewpoint and agrees on this matter. The video was designed to create healthy discourse over issues surrounding overconsumption and possible fragrance addiction. I’m also not judging anyone’s choices all opinions are welcome. If you disagree feel free to say why and with which points, I welcome your input. Thank you for watching.
