Many thanks to Kay for the Danganronpa "Argue!" animation! Kaylio64
Still waiting for him to finally reveal his 13 Sentinels figurine after the weeb’s gambit paid off, we shall never let him forget
Pretty sure that part of the gambit was “if 13 Sentinels ends well” and iirc he didn’t like the ending very much, at least compared to the rest of the game.
@@MatryoshkaNowhe will get one actually. A few streams back (I don’t remember which sadly) he talked about it, and he’s gonna get the one with natsuno because BJ is a part of it
"Unphy Bunfy" is the greatest pet name I've heard for a small creature and will absolutely be naming my inevitable next cat one day
I love how you're sure it's inevitable that you'll have a "next cat" to name that😂
I think it's supposed to be spelled "Oomfie Boomfie".
As someone who saw the story in a completely different order
It's amazing to me how different of a reaction I got vs the way Joe got because we just have different information at any given time
This game is very neat that way, even though it's technically a very linear story with no branching paths, the way the player experience the story can be so different
How'd you see it

*obv spoilers*
I did Natsuo+Miura line first, so I knew that they were in the far future and not "real" for a long time
So I came to the conclusion of "there is no time travel" very early and had a completely different perspective of the whole story from then on
@@disk3001 Same, the whole talk of "sectors" in those routes and all being 40 years apart immediately made me think there was actually no time travel. Which only made the "Miura and Natsuno on 2186" more confusing.
10:57 "You're ruining the shape of the shoe bruv. Tying your shoes is self care and self love."
I love how that little limerick sent Joe on a SHPIEL lol. This is what I tune in for!
22:51 // Factory Calculation
Not pictured: JADS turning into Wolframalphaden
thank you for including it it is absolutely incredible
2:27:52 "FOR BIRGIR?!" same level of character development for some of these characters lmao
Oh man, right at the stat with the Iori summation of "- ????? " I know this is gonna be great
idk why but i find it real funny how Gouto went through the trouble of getting a cute little kindergarten outfit for the 100+ year-old woman trapped in a little child's body to wear
This opening segment really caught me up on the story. As someone who did watch both of the previous videos I still have 0 clue whats going on and the opening segment really just encapsulates it perfectly.
I watched all the streams and I still had no idea what was going on. I was hoping these videos would make me grasp the story better but after watching the first two parts lol nope
god the joeseph anderson komaeda edit was so good, thank you for all your great work walrus!!
Oh thanks, I drew that
Great sentinels
the fact that, for like the entire game, hijiyama's entire story has been about how much he likes this like bread dish and how much he likes a girl. im surprised joe didn't pay more attention to how frequent that was. i mean it makes sense from a character POV, if you are starving for 3 days and exhausted, any food is going to taste *AMAZING.* i could see how a strong association is made and obsession is formed. but like from a writing POV, why? how is his story like 80% bread based.
funny
The dude came from an era where food just wasn't up to modern standards AND was probably living off mostly rations for the past like... 3 years or something if not more, I dunno how Japan handled their war time diets.
So yeah, all that was on top of the starving.
As for the writing... I mean, every character is like that, and Takatoshi is far from the most blatant. Honestly, good on the writers for being able to balance it all so well to where most of the time you don't even notice.
His story is 80% bread-based and still manages to be gay somehow
oh no this is incomplete? i am devastated, looking forward to next part, your edits are amazing, keep up the good work!
my exact feelings lol
Make it three
At least its more content to enjoy!
I can't believe he figured out the clothes twist.
joe's sushi take is some of the most bonkers insane shit he's ever said
He is a child that just stuck with chicken nuggets and french fries. Can't even appreciate a baked potato.
I feel like it need to be talked about how Miura was CLEARLY the favorite of the writers. IT'S EVERY FUCKIN' TIME WITH THIS KID! Massive twists and revelations EVERYWHERE.
With the Sink Pissing debacle and now the knowledge that Joe shoves his feet into his already laced sneakers like I used to do when I was 10, I'm waiting for him to admit he still bites his fingernails
Added lore: he hates canned tuna and the concept of sushi and his favorite food is hamburger
Next hes going to reveal he picks the pickles off of them and that he drinks chocolate milk
CUTE GUY
WHERE DID MY CLOTHES GO
YAKISOBA PAN
This is edited incredibly. I'm really looking forward to part 4
I like how he asks if anyone else hates tying their shoe, as though it’s not something everyone hates
Yeuup, im like Joe in that regard.
I double knot my shoes as hard as i can when i first get them, and shive my foot in every time.
I perfer Velcro or Slip-on shoes
Hemborger
so i'm like half way through and i'm placing my bet now, not a single instance of time travel occurs in this game
Clearly the sectors and barriers are clearly pointing to literal sectors with sets built to instill false hope by the robot doublegangers trough "time travel". They are sending our protagonists on wild goose chases. All this in order to make them resort to the Aegis Protocol.
Also all our 1985 pilots might be some kind of genetic project to create gifted pilots from a common base. Their childhood memories are copies of the original, they have no actual families and childhoods because they popped out of a clone chamber.
Edit: Okay this game just started cooking a full barbeque.
Wow, that idlewild thing does sound like the actual plot of this game.
Joe's 'what do you mean 'duh'!?" reads as helpless moe.
Thanks for making these! They have the perfect pace to serve as a podcast
18:27 major "draw the rest of the owl"
Everyone: Oh my God this is horrible
Hijiyama: Mmmm, yakisoba pan...
Miura: Mmmm, Hemborger...
god bless you for these edits
Man Vanillaware is just such a good company. All they do are bangers, I hope Joe goes back and plays their other titles.
Loving your edits my dude. When is the next part ?
Pay out to weebs' gambit believers
The gambit was lost from the first scene of the game XD
@@abaque24nah they win since he loves the story
i just wanna say that "lost in 1984" is kinda a rad line
It‘s honestly incredible how Joe still seems to have a grasp of the story while the random plot elements keep on stacking on top of each other.
The time travel alone already feels to me like causality has been thrown out the window, I‘ve long given up on following the plot and now I‘m just curious to see how the game keeps on riffing.
Joe: More like yukisoba pan. **heartwarming music plays**
1:24:35 atlus_west came into the chat excited to see someone streaming a game that they KNOW they borked the marketing for.😂
Someone from 40n years in the future please tell me Hypothetical Walrus made part 4, I really like these edits!
Sorry, but... Hypothetical-san didn't make it. We call them Theorical Walrus now. They're a completely different person.
Wake the fuck up samurai, we got a video to watch
Love the math bit, Hypo
Joe perfectly called Miyuki on her Minmay horseshit
I love that people make this never ending joke about how this guy is a weeb, but the first part of this video is a Shoujo manga parody where girls eat comically gourmet-esque food of increasing size and intensity, instead of going out and doing any kind of romancey stuff... and it doesn't land for him whatsoever. How can you call this man a weeb? Speaking of, does he ever pick up on how the character's are all designed to occupy different genre's of fiction that work to get back on track when otherwise derailed into completely different genre by the overarching plot? I always thought that was funny but not sure if I'll see the full streams. Video long!
Joe isn't a weeb, he plays a lot of weeb games but he has only seen very very few anime (as in, you could count on one hand), but thats what makes his playthroughs so entertaining:
A normal guy playing anime games and being confused/calling out anime tropes that he doesnt understand.
Its also nice to see him go from 0 understanding back in the Xenoblade Chronicles, P5, and Danganronpa days, to now where he does understand more of the tropes and culture
49:00
Doraemon's grumpy relative.
Man really needs to invest in a shoe horn
idk i still think you could totally fit enough factories
That's what the editor calculated, there's space for 100+ billion, and that's without stacking
Nanites are confirmed in the dialogue. When you have space magic you can essentially have factories building factories. The size of what counts as a factory hasn't been specified. You might have small specialized factories the size of a 3D printer producing one part at an extremely high efficiency feeding into a main hub of assembly.
An AI playing factorio underground, slowly converting the planet. We might have a rogue paperclip maximizer on our hands.
My favorite let's play is back WOOOOOOOO
Why does he call the child "umfy bumfy"?
1:30:03 I'm a coomer, but even my mind isn't this dirty.
There was a stupid amateur web comic I read as a kid that featured zombie-cats that puked zombie-cats and so on, infinitely reproducing.
Sounds like old Dwarf Fortress.
He does pick on it, but its not particularly interesting to him since everything is a ‘call back’ and/or trope to a certain extent. He gets that yakushiji is a salir moon themed character, with talking cat and magical tools, but its exactly ‘interesting enough’ tbh- the cat being evil/manipulative is also a trope and not a twist or anything. Everything plot related is telegraphed, and the minor character interactions are more fun than the ‘superficial’ aspects… it’s fun, but it is weeb writing, as in it is written with ‘tropes/cliches’ and expect the audience to be like ‘look a trope/cliche I know’ and be hooked. It doesnt work for everyone and it doesnt work for Joe. XD its why yakushiji is worst girl for him, while natsuno is dumbest girl, and yuki is best girl- cuz the magical girl reference is not enough, the ET reference is not enough, and the sukeban thing is superficial enough to not get in the way of the detective aspect- and why he feels NOTHING for Inaba and her song XD its great!
Just had to say this somewhere, you're the first person I found who brought it up; it's not Sailor Moon, it's a different anime called Madoka Magica where magical girls fight beings known as witches and there's a talking cat-like being called Kyubey, in fact Yakushiji looks pretty much exactly like Akemi Homura. Madoka Magica is the anime people talk about when the topic of magical girl deconstruction comes up, all the same I guess some people have never heard of it. Just had to get this out somewhere, not trying to insult your intelligence or anything :)
@@efrainsantiago2181Mega ascended weeb
@@efrainsantiago2181 Madoka Magica doesn't really deconstruct any of the elements of the genre, it just recreates them with a dark coat of paint. Thematically it fails to really say anything insightful about the genre as a whole.
@@efrainsantiago2181even voiced by the same person as Homura
burnemail I guess thats what passes for deconstruction in the World of Weebs
So Joe is one of those people who thinks the only sushi is raw fish sushi 😂
There's cooked sushi options, some of my favorites have steak. Though some may argue that such is 'not sushi' anymore but I digress.
There's also sushi without fish, just... great vegetables!
Riceless/rice paper, rice on the inside, rice on the outside, etc etc etc.
Just like to point this out anytime someone says they don't like sushi, because they think it's only one thing.
yooo we back
Wow, i cant tell if he would hate dark city
Cute Guy!
Finally
What font did you use at the beginning for the recap? I know it's from the game but what font is it and how can I find it
Looks like Albertus. Also known as Albertus MT. It should be free at any font downloading place.
Man JA really likes to have bad impression on big forehead girls
It gets annoying how paranoid Joe is about spoiling anything in some random pieces of media, to the point where he refuses to talk about topics. If it's not the popular new thing, chances are no one is interested in it anyway, and for 99 percent of media (everything that I know except Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn) spoilers just don't matter at all.
Eh, its fine, its not like it comes up all the time/ is frequent but he could just say "hey spoilers for [game/movie] mute and come back in 15 seconds if you dont want to get spoiled
Bj
Alien bj
jo don't like the characters ok but its says a lot about him when he loves the shit brained megumi compared to other characters Who deserves more love
natsuno is best girl i don't care what you think
