Incredible fix mate! I used three M5 washers with roomba 980. Works gorgeously, small to none impact to suction power, robot can still make it to base, and now has no problems in transitioning to high rugs. I owe you a beer.
That's genius. I had the same problem and I knew it was about increasing the height of the wheel a little bit, but I had no idea how to do it. And within 3 min of watching your video, I went to my toolbox and fixed my roomba. You just saved me from returning my roomba (because getting rid of my beautiful large white rug was out of question). Thanks a lot!!!
A lift kit for the Roomba, I have done it for the truck so it could get over the obstacles, so why not, I just spent a minute or two at the most, and I don't have a problem with my new Roomba anymore, but you have to get it to work on the charging contacts, and I have a little bit of a simple fix for that, I removed the rubber pads on the back edge of the bottom of the dock, and I have placed them on the front edge and glued them, and it's a non issue for me, thanks for sharing your brilliant fix
THANKYOU!!!!! This is why I love the internet. This worked perfectly first time for the cost of 2 tiny washers! I would never have worked this out on my own.
Yep, this worked for me too! I ended up putting on two washers to get it to work. So happy for this fix because the roomba was awesome otherwise and we were sad about this issue. Problem is fixed though and our roomba is kickin butt! Thank you!!
Great fix. I have a 692 with a different kind of front wheel so had to put the washers under the screws, and use longer screws to hold the entire assembly in, but same concept. Had watched a lot of videos looking for a fix but this one was finally it. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I just got a new area rug and started having this issue. I tried your hack and I'm having some success. There are spots where it will climb onto the rug now but sometimes still gets turned around on others. Some success is better than no success so this is a win for me. I got a 50% chance of it getting up there. Better than 0%. Thanks man. Just a note I used 2 washers. Maybe as the rug gets older it will get on there all the time.
This was perfect, thank you! For anyone else looking for what to use - I used two M6x30 flat washers and it worked great going from hardwood to an area rug that it was not able to get on before. Any more than two washers and I found the Roomba cannot connect to the pins on the charging station and won't dock correctly.
Thanks this works really well. I was really worried after my roomba got stuck below the couch, unable (or rather unwilling) to get back onto the carpet to escape.
This is GREAT! We have the same problem, thick carpet that the Roomba just turns around at, defeating the purpose! Thank you so much! Do you mind sharing what thickness washer you used if you know?
My Roomba 960 couldn’t make the transition from hardwood to rugs. This helped a lot but I wonder if the suction power/cleaning ability is lessened with the blades being further from the surface.
Brilliant solutions :-). Just a quick question though. Is there really no impact on cleaning? Brushes would be more elevated from the ground I guess...
This is great for cleaning my ceramic and hardwood floorsBISSELL PowerFresh Steam Mop Cleans areas I could never get to. Cleans all our dog’s pet hair. It takes a good hour to sweep the first level of our house, but it gets everything. My floors have never been cleaner. Not as excited about it on carpet, prefer to use the days on there. But for hard surfaces it’s amazing.
Remove the rubber pads on the bottom of the dock, they're only in the back edge, but peal them up and glue on the front edge for a little bit of a tilt, and the wheel will go up the the ramp and drop down enough to make contact with the charging contacts

Worked like a champ after I stacked 3 washer on each other. Great simple video that actually does the trick!

I have been struggling with mine. Never wanted to go onto a rug. This did the trick! Thanks for the tip!!
Just got a roomba 670 this fixed the issue. Thank you!
What is the thickness of the washer you used?
You are life saver sir, will be doing this to my roomba tonight. Thank you.
Thanks this works really well. I was really worried after my roomba got stuck below the couch, unable (or rather unwilling) to get back onto the carpet to escape.

Omg! Yes been searching forever! It works! Thank you 😊

I did exactly as you did, with the washer, and this is the PERFECT fix! Now, no problem transitioning from hardwoods to carpet!
For the people with the 600 series, On little thing would be to also add a wash of the same size or a bit smaller to jack the little swiper as well!
Mine just started doing this suddenly. Definitely going to check out that front caster wheel. Thank you!!
Thank you man ,I had the same problem now my wife is happy,,thank you
Thank you so much for posting this up!

this worked for us thanks! glad my boyfriend works on cars he had plenty of washers to try out 💖
Thank you so much 🥳 2 small washers and it did the trick.
Just bought a roomba and i have the same problem thank u very mutch it works well thank u
What size washer did you use? I’m a layman when it comes to tools...thanks in advance!
Brilliant solutions :-). Just a quick question though. Is there really no impact on cleaning? Brushes would be more elevated from the ground I guess...
Thank you Mr. Roomba!
Great. I will try this today. Tell me does it affect on vacuuming somehow? Or did it damaged the well in some way?
So how does wheel pop out? That part of video wasn’t seen while trying to perform one handed.
Thank you!! This solved my problem
Just don’t try to power-loop your roomba…split-S is ok though.
You the man! Fixed my problem!
You sir are a hero.
The perfect easy fix. Thank you!!
Thank you for your video!!! It fixed the problem!! :D Very clever!
how did you disarm the sensors to go on your dark rug and how did you remove the wheel
Thanks this works really well.

Brilliant!!!! Thank you!
You are a legend!
Darn it. My robot vacuum is not a Roomba and I cannot take out the wheel to put in the washer. Any other ideas?
Thank you sir!!! Worked perfect.
Thank you, Thank you.....
Perfect, life safer :) greetings from Germany
Nice little fix
tried this on a similar robot vacuum but now it cant charge because the contacts wont reach the charging dock :/
Remove the rubber pads on the bottom of the dock, they're only in the back edge, but peal them up and glue on the front edge for a little bit of a tilt, and the wheel will go up the the ramp and drop down enough to make contact with the charging contacts
What size was the washer? I had to put three to make it work with carpet, but then it was unable to dock.
Aaaaaah fucking gold mate thank you so much!!!!
Thank you!
Amazing workaround !
Awesome, sir! Thank you!
Thank you!!!!!

@@MoPotheGreat if you have black/dark rug, this could be the problem. you need to tape cliff sensors.

You are awesome
Works great
THANKSSSSSSS
I can't take my wheel off
Only lasts a while then dirt gets in then fails. I did this mod and it worked great - ruclips.net/video/MJDTyNdmMRA/видео.html
