The Blasters are roof of men who love their music & are skilled craftsmen with their instruments, able to capture & bend a moment, every moment, of making that music & tame it like a bucking bronco. Amazing!
When I accidentally overheard this song, I was so sure it was CCR. How would I be surprised later when I realised it was completely another band, just as great as CCR are.
That’s a great description of that thing Phil does. First time I saw them in SF in the early 80’s, I couldn’t believe how good they were. Dave’s guitar tone and Phil’s phrasing followed by that funhouse grin…was blown away.
I love these guy so I mean no disrespect and love the smile, I've always wondered was it a type of uncontrollable tic or something he did for fun or a type of gimmick?
Just discovered these guys (living under a rock obviously) and blown away.
hi , have you found the original band with his brother ? also , X , Los Lobos
Check out the records by the originals 👍

Hail Blasters!
God bless Phil Alvin. And brother Dave, too!
Love the way Bateman holds his drum sticks...very groovy
As relevant today as ever. Oh, BTW, bought the album, yes vinyl, because of the cover. One, if not, the best snap decisions I’ve ever made.
That was perfect, must have been pretty incredible being there, great band🤘
Never thought I’d get to see them in the U.K. - was a really special night!
I saw them at Slim’s in San Francisco in 1985. Best concert ever.

This is music.
I remember hearing them in the late 80,"
He still does his broad, almost funhouse horror smile every now again in this performance. Guy always had a brilliant ironic sense of humour.

музыка их тех времен, когда мужики были мужиками, а женщины женщинами. такого больше не будет.
You need to get old to sing this song.
Different singer? Just saw a 2011 video from PA alter bar, singer looked different. Either 7 years really aged him or it's a different guy?
It’s still lead singer Phil Alvin... he’s had a lot of bad health over the last few years. Still sounding great though.
Do he got old they got old

Ah Phil not even tryin any longer. The 80's have receded from whence we once knew ye. Johnny Winter leads the way.
