I bought it for band practice and also use in a small chapel. Sounds great if tuned properly and some mods to the kick. Mic it up and it actually sound pretty good even in some small halls (200 seaters). With good cymbals. I use a Tama hi-hat stand, the original is crap. The only reason I bought it because it can all all fit in the boot.
One of these popped up on craigslist and I seriously thought about buying it. If I could play like this guy I'd drum professionally. As a guitar player who just bangs on drums for stress relief purposes and considers AC/DC tunes at the highest level of his drumming, it really doesn't matter what kit I get. I just have a low end Roland V-Drums so my bad drumming doesn't annoy the neighbors.
As you will see micing is kept to a minimum, there are no mics mounted directly on the kit. Of course a mic is needed to make a video though All our videos are kept as 'real' as possible in an attempt to show what these kits sound like in reality.
@Michael55443 My speakers are jsut fine (2+1 Creative set) and I also have fullsize Philips headphones that I used to listen. Still I was pretty much able to discern the three toms perfectly
Hey I know this is so long after this video been posted 10 years later lol but how was this recorded the audio is so good but I don’t see any drum mics so I’m super curious how this was recorded for the sake of doing similar recordings myself
I've this drum. Snare is a march band snare sound, not bad. Tom are good for latin & fusion. Can't expect the same punch of a real kick from this kick. The standard skins are no good, better to get replacement. Useful for small venues, very fast to setup if you want to compromise on sound and can accept to miss some low frequencies on floor tom and kick.
WHY HAS NO-ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THESE BEFORE????? I could have save sssssooooo much time and hassle with these rather than a regular kit. I want a set of these. In fact going to ebay now
+Craig Simpson I put remo silent stroke heads on it and l80 cymbals and it works great as a practice kit me being 14 and just started drumming I don't need a huge kit for gigs as long as I can play the pieces of music and when I go to school keep a good beat for my band (we just play for fun but are all very talented)
Man this guy's syncopation is spotless. Great kit too.
this proves that a good drummer and the right mics can make almost any set sound good
No mics....ruclips.net/video/0ilO8ZUpqXI/видео.htmlsi=9V6OKLUcB1oIPDYp
When someone play like this then, wow! All you can say is WOOOW!
Great demo.... This kit sounds really nice. Playing is so fluid too.
That rhythm at 3:09 was insane!
Wow. Exquisite drumming. Nice sounding kit, too.
Very nice work indeed! It put me in mind of Steve McQueen's Bullitt... I'm still smiling!
Came for the set - saw an outstanding drummer!
The consistency of his left foot on the block is crazy good!
I have the same kit, and the actual sound is just gorgeous. I'd love my Traps kit.
Drums sounds great but this guy is fenomenal player! fenomenal!!!!!
Nice drummin', Dude! The kit sounds also fine....
Wow, this guy has chops.

ur's isn't mic'd up
Maybe yours was broken, i sound as good if not better on mine🤣
I'm sure they use better heads and a good tune

Holy mother of Jesus. This Guy!
Is that a young Carlos Mendoza ripping it up there. He could could make any kit sound good!
che bravo !!!
Daaaaamn!
Thanks for the mail, they are portable drums with portability in mind, the intention is to be a practical alternative when you need a portable kit.

this guy is a guitar centre finalist!!!
Kushagra Actually he won it a couple of years
ago!!
@JasonDTube The Traps A400 kit is available with out cymbals so you can add your own.
@Michael55443 What? Although these don't sound like a full set the toms DO have perfectly discernible pitches
ICE
WOW
just wondering, do the skills come with the kit or not? I would pay a lot of money to play like him
1 mic only?Where did u guys place the mic? Sounds good.
do they make less noise compared to a normal kit when played in "real" situations? or the dynamics are the same?
Hey man can you let us know what cymbals your using in this video? kit sounds amazing by the way,
HOLY GOD
was this video taped using one sole microphone?
Hey I know this is so long after this video been posted 10 years later lol but how was this recorded the audio is so good but I don’t see any drum mics so I’m super curious how this was recorded for the sake of doing similar recordings myself
Just a thought- shouldn't the floor tom be tuned up a little?

Would these drums sounds carry an 18 pc big band?
Is this as loud as a regular acoustic drum kit?
@Michael55443 whatre you talking about?? you can clearly hear the 3 different tom pitches...
hello how about this kit's quality and durability?
They must be running this though software, as it sounds way too good!
nope, just really well tuned, in a nice room, played well.
Nop....I have one. Fine tuning will grant u that sound
I want to hear Bernard Purdie playing on these
WHY HAS NO-ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THESE BEFORE????? I could have save sssssooooo much time and hassle with these rather than a regular kit. I want a set of these. In fact going to ebay now
what time signature is he hold on the left foot?
2-3 clave
Definitely 3-2 Rumba Clave
@Michael55443 even listening to them on laptop speakers i can tell...
@Michael55443 oops, I get it now. Sorry
Can someone explain what's going on at 3:14?
Druffle @3:30
JÁ PROCUREI NOS SITES BRAZILEIRO EU NÃO TEM ESSA BATERIA PRA COMPRAR
I was feeling cool and thought that I got good at drumming... then I saw this video and realise I'm a noob
Doubtful, since the only mic you can see is the kick drum mic, which definitely wouldn't pick up much of anything else but the kick.
1:24 - a little rushed are we?
hey, he was skinnier!!!
make less noise?
I bought one, this kit is NOT not for professional use, sorry!
yea i bought mine and i only use it for practice when I visit my hometown....
+Craig Simpson I put remo silent stroke heads on it and l80 cymbals and it works great as a practice kit me being 14 and just started drumming I don't need a huge kit for gigs as long as I can play the pieces of music and when I go to school keep a good beat for my band (we just play for fun but are all very talented)
lexdexus I would second that.... RUBBISH in my opinion
toms sound a little flappy
They sound terrible.
Agreed. like garbage cans
