- In this video I am at Lake Lanier in July doing some topwater fishing for big bass. Watch this one until the end, the fish just kept getting bigger! I use a Spro E Pop to catch these fish. Thanks for watching! Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss future episodes!

Good fishing. Awesome cloud behind you during early morning.
Thanks! That first hour of daylight is always spectacular!
Great job catching em Dana. As always appreciate the content.
Thanks! The topwater fishing has been great and is only getting better!
As always I appreciate you sharing your fishing success, especially on limited sleep! That was a nice spotted bass at the end. I just purchased some Spro e pops to try on Lanier. Hopefully I’ll have some success. Can’t wait for your next outing!
Thanks for watching! If you take the time to learn how to use them, you will be amazed. I appreciate you watching until the end. It helps my channel.
I like that you don't look for big fish. You are happy just catching them.
I catch plenty of big fish. The whole point of fishing is catching fish, so I am thankful for each and every one I catch.
You had a great morning of fishing!
Yes it was!
Excellent video Dana and great advice about the electronics being off , not making your presence known to the fish . Very basic fishing technique and very intelligent fishing skills on your part . Tight lines !
Thanks for watching! Sometimes it's the small little details that will help catch more fish.
Great vid Dana, you caught some good fish, get ya some rest now, GREAT JOB 🎣
Thanks!

Yea for the top water! Got some good ones,
Thanks!
The ones that just slurp it in are the smart ones that will be 5lbers, while the other ones sometimes like making a big show of it, Haha.
I’ll take them all!
Great video and information. I will try this Sunday not to use my fish finders I have been using the spro epop nothing on it yet. I normally use the berkly choppo
Good luck! Once the sun gets up and boats are around I turn my fish finders on, but first thing when it's quiet and still I leave them off. I'm convinced it makes a difference. The Spro is about the only topwater I use these days. We have tested it where my brother uses a Choppo and I use the Spro and the Spro catches twice as many. I need to do a video showing that.
I may have asked you this before, but, I know you use fluoro on the popper but what knot are you using? A lot of guys say a loop knot to help with the walking action. I use an oversized Spro swivel clip that acts as the same as a loop and the added weight helps with the popping similar to why you like the sinking line. Enjoy your day off. Catch up on that sleep during the rain.
I tie directly to the split ring that's on the front of the bait. I just can't bring myself to use a snap or a clip. I don't trust them. I actually don't really want any walking action on this bait. It is the sound of the deep popping that attracts the fish. I replace the split ring with a heavier duty one. We have huge Stripers and the Spots are vicious, so a regular split ring gets bent out. I believe the knot I use is called an improved clinch knot.

I fish up north at lake Nottely but want to try Lanier. What boat ramps do you recommend?
It depends on how you like to fish. If you're a live scope guy, I would recommend any ramp on the south end of the lake. Otherwise, coming from up there I would try Thompson Creek. It's probably the closest to you and we always catch plenty of fish over there. If you want to try the Gainesville side of the lake, Laurel Park is right at the mouth of the Chattahoochee and there is good fishing all around it.
Dana do you knock down the barbs on your lures ...
I do when I fish a Texas rig, because they sometimes swallow it. I usually don't with any treble hooked lure. Too time consuming.
good vid! what boat ramp do you put in at if you don’t mind me asking? going to lanier tomorrow morning, haven’t had much luck on the south part of the lake
I cover a lot of territory up here on the north end, so I use several different ramps. Laurel Park is a good one on the Gainesville side. Over on the Chestatee side I use Thompson Creek. There is good fishing at either place.
@@FCPFishing thanks brother!
Can't catch anything on the south side lol I've been getting skunked
@@tomhwang32 Location is everything.
What color epop when cloud cover?
I show the exact bait I was using in the video.
Dana what kind of rod is that Your using?
It's an older model Ark rod, I'm don't remember what it's called.
