Very telling; Trump's conflict management style, and the early departure of the more moderate perspectives, aptly explains the events at the end of his administration. "Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.(Proverbs 15:22)."

History will not look upon Mick Mulvaney positively.

Arguments not really coherent - thin justifications - fine example of a snake oil salesman.

My electricity bill for July was 38,000 yen, an astronomical amount just as I had feared. First of all, it is summer, so the price hike due to air conditioning being on is possible as a seasonal fluctuation, but that alone would not amount to such an amount. There are three factors. 1) Air conditioners need to be operated due to seasonal fluctuations, 2) we have been blackmailed by someone to switch our neighbors' electricity bills to ours, which is not possible under the contract, so arguments inevitably follow, and 3) the rising unit price of imported energy and the weak yen. Even if we roughly calculate it by cube of 2, the electricity bill would be 8 times higher, right? If we divide it by 8, it comes to about 8,000 yen, which is the same amount as what former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Seko said in his presentation. What an impossible thing to do. The deadline is mid-August, so they need to extend it until the last minute to cut expenses and build up cash. There will also be more threats and extortion aimed at the accumulated cash. If it's a business-like temptation, it's still common sense, but a cornered person will always be criminal. If you don't pay for three months, a Tokyo Electric Power Company affiliate will come to collect. It's better if you can pay politely. ② in particular is undesirable, and of course our economy cannot tolerate such a thing. When it comes to health insurance, option ② is fatal. There have recently been so many financial troubles involving health insurance that it has been suggested that the use of health insurance itself should be "prohibited." This has only been confirmed through two official reports from the Digital Agency and others, but it appears that after December 2nd of this year, new issuance of health insurance cards and renewal of cards will no longer be possible. It is clear that continuing to push through the Digital Agency's heavy-handed but financially unreasonable methods will only lead to more brutal results. I have no intention of finding out whether the announcement of the Digital Agency was made by the Prime Minister's Office. I will not be ripped off. I will not be threatened. Unacceptable.

I'm a little disappointed at how that the politicians responded to this estimation of a "sickness", if you will.

I no longer have any ongoing conversations with the owner of a nearby izakaya restaurant, which is run by an American foreigner. I am always at odds with foreigners in Japan who are related to the US military. Even if it is the Japanese police who are doing something bad, it is the US military's fault. I don't think it's a misunderstanding at all, but even if it was a misunderstanding that the US military was bad, unless the US military in Japan willingly agrees to the termination of SOFA (US-Japan Status of Forces Agreement), it is only natural that the US military in Japan would be suspected, and it is the US military in Japan that is at fault. The US military is to blame, both soldiers and officers. I have heard from the Vice President of the United States that this is based on the traditional policies of Democratic administrations in the United States. As a certain British person confirmed, President Biden called the Oxford University Press and conveyed his intention to resign as president to Mickey. That's what I heard, so the vice president's dislike of the US military is well known, and it's based on the Democratic Party's policy, so if I hadn't received so much of the White House's will, I wouldn't have openly rejected the US military. However, it is true that both Kamala and I dislike the U.S. military, and even if the bad behavior of the Self-Defense Forces in Japan is ingrained and can never be corrected, it is still the responsibility of the U.S. military, and unless SOFA is scrapped, the U.S. military will always be at fault. So even if an American officer is smiling, we will never be fooled. He seems to have some kind of misunderstanding. 2024JULY30th Tue 1417JST

He talks far too much, speaking out every thought and "tangent off" in his mind which means you can not follow him well. It's very incoherent. I just can't fathom how he was interim White House Chief of Staff. The traffic that goes through that office from the military brass, to congress votes, to school budgets in the District of Columbia, you need someone who is quick (he is) and concise and decisive (doesn't seem he is).

Fascinating, I totally disagree. I think his tangents were artful and added a lot of dimension to the former president. What did you find incoherent? I followed him completely.

The domestic defense minister is supposed to be a civilian, but even as the Asahi Shimbun headline this morning is correct, there is no sign of remorse in the Ministry of Defense. Unless they accept the cancellation of SOFA, the US military is always at fault, but the problem is the same, except that it is on a global scale rather than an island nation. The US military is at fault. After all, if they do something so cruel to Biden and Kamala, there is no one in charge in the White House anymore, right? The civilian control in the United States, which has traditionally been the model, has already collapsed. They can't put up a good face. Unacceptable. Wednesday, July 31, 2024 0921JST.

Poor decision by the union to make this an interview. It allowed Mulvaney to cherrypick his answers without being challenged on his decisions, motivations, morality etc which directly impacted other human beings.

so they just shouldn’t have interviewed him at all, or they should’ve asked him different questions?
