  • Used for determining where MvM engineer bots should/shouldn't teleport in, depending on where the bomb is relative to the bomb hatch. The values are precomputed in the nav mesh based on path distance from the nav area to the bomb hatch.

    I knew that Engineers didn't teleport in if the bomb hasn't travelled far, but I was just unaware of the specifics.

    Interesting, also can you do a video based around the pyro's airblast hammer unit wise. Because I keep getting airblasted when a pyro is BELOW spire on badlands. I was on top.

      As explained in the walls of text under those videos, it's worth noting that the range of the cone in the visualization isn't 100% accurate, and that the distance that it reaches is in reality limited to exactly the same 256x256x128 HU box as is used for airblast hit detection vs projectiles, which is shown here: ruclips.net/video/W1g2x4b_Byg/видео.html

    Speaking of "videos could you do", could you look into how lag compensation affects the spy backstab detection?

    I wish tf2 had a better bot mesh system, I've sunk hours into trying to get the bot meshes to work on custom maps, and learned a lot of tricks in doing so, however it's so basic and difficult to get it working that it takes forever, and even then it might not work correctly or intended... and once, after the mesh caused tf2 to crash, the mesh became corrupted, and I had to start over.
    Anyone know of some good guides/mods/pages on bot mesh and whatnot? I want to create tf2 maps but the guides are old or difficult to understand...

    Now I'm confused about how should I enjoy this video.
    I see squares. What does it mean though?

      The squares are things bots use to navigate. Its called nav mesh.
      Basically, when bots need to move somewhere, they look on what square they are, they look on what square their target is, and using an A*(probably) pathfinding algorithm, they find squares they need to walk on in order to reach the target.

    Hey Sigsegv, there is a bug in MvM with the building health upgrade. When bought it restores all buildings health and also restores health when sold. As you can probably guess by now this can be abused by buying and selling over and over mid-wave. I know you don't directly fix things in TF2, but I thought you might find this interesting. (I know there is no reward for this but I thought I'd give my friend some credit for helping find this bug) Credit to: steam3ID: [U:1:155219107] my friend :Finland: and to myself steam3ID: [U:1:120018782] for finding, I think we may be the only ones who know about this bug.

    i just wish that
    1. the spy didnt have 1 sapper against engi buildings in mvm, because how do you take down a nest with 1 sapper
    2. the spy didnt get knockback from the engi when he places his buildings
    "an engi bot has spawned in"
    *spots it*
    *runs over to it*
    *gets ready to stab it*
    *nope.avi*
    other classes dont have this issue, it only effects pyro demoknigts and spies, all of which are lower down on the mvm leaderboard, volvo plz
