      @@123DallaR Hi Lloyd, Yes, that is an issue that Lexus is working on fixing with the 2nd OTA update coming later this spring or summer. In the meantime try this:
      Make sure you have your key linked: Settings > Personal Info > Link Key
      Turn ACC Customize On: Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility > ACC Customize On (purple toggle)
      This will disable the low-energy bluetooth connection that allows the car to look for your phone when the phone is in range, but the car is still turned off. It is also, what lets the display screen and audio system stay on when you turn off the car, before you open the door.

    Hi Melissa! Great videos /tutorials. I have a question about the navigation on the 22 NX. Once the profile is set up and the nav becomes active/subscribed (3 yr trial). Will the Nav function without the phone in the car thereafter. Example, if one forgot their phone and drove away, perhaps needed nav on the way back for some reason. Would they be able to use the navigation. Or do you need the registered device in the car for this function. Looking forward to the full deep dive tutorial on this one!

      Such a great question, Jodi! Once you activate Drive Connect the map connection will be active on the vehicle. So even a Guest can have the cloud connected maps on the vehicle. That should definitely let you drive without your phone. Make sure to link your key to the profile as well since that will help your profile load more quickly when you do have the phone with you. I'm working on the deep dive full tutorial for the 2022 NX and hope to have it ready in a few weeks. So stay tuned for more!

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 года назад

      Hi @GlassHouses, Thanks so much for tuning in! We are hearing about some profile recognition issues across the country, not on all models, but on some, especially if you have more than one profile on the car. Here are the recommended steps to try (while Lexus works on an update):
      1. Make sure to do the step to Link the Key: Select your profile > have only your selected Key in the vehicle > Open Settings on the car > Open Personal Info > Click the toggle for Link Key (only click once. You will hear a beep then there is a small delay while the system links to the key.
      2. Check ACC Customize Mode: Settings > Vehicle Customize > ACC Customize > If it is On, turn it Off. If it is Off, turn it On.
      Then turn off the car, exit the vehicle, lock the vehicle. Give it about 15 minutes. Refresh the Lexus app on your phone. Then turn on the car and see if that has resolved the issue. If not, then please hang tight while Lexus works on the fix for this. Thanks so much! :)

    Thanks. Great training video. Can the non-primary profile driver have the Lexus APP to do things like remote start, etc. The dealer tech said this was not possible, and advised that the second driver COULD use the Lexus APP but that if both users were logged in from different phones it would screw up the system in such a way that it would take the dealer hours to completely rework the system.
    I got stuck trying to set up the second user at the point where I had to scan the QR code on the screen but there was no QR code to be seen.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 года назад +2

      Hi Hubbs Grimm, We are all learning more and more about driver profiles and they can be tricky. A couple of notes and tips for you:
      1. You do need separate Lexus app accounts to create separate driver profiles on the car
      2. Only the Primary driver will add the car, scan the QR code, have Remote features show on the app, etc.
      3. However, once you set up the separate app accounts and add the Primary driver and then secondary driver in the car, you can have the secondary driver sign out of their Lexus app sign in and sign back in with the Primary profile account information. It is not a problem for both phones to using the same sign in, after the accounts are properly setup on the car. Then you can both use the Remote features.
      4. Make sure you both have your own key linked to your profile in the car.
      5. Turn on ACC Customize in car settings to help with profile recognition: Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility > ACC Customize > toggle to ON (This allows the car to find your profile with the linked key and then to connect to your phone.)
      I hope this helps. Also, if you have any issues and need to reset the system on the car, I can let you know the steps. :)

Both my wife and I will be driving the vehicle in equal amount of time. Thanks again!

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 года назад +1

      Hi! So great to have you here! Here's what I have learned:
      1. You and your wife will need separate Lexus App account logins to create different Driver Profiles in the vehicle.
      2.& 4. One person will need to be designated as the Primary Driver. Only the Primary driver will have the vehicle loaded in their Lexus App, have access to the subscriptions and the Remote Connect features. (meaning you would need to sign in to the Primary Driver Lexus app to remote start the car from the phone, but sign in to the secondary Lexus App account to have the car see that Driver Profile.) The secondary profile setup is done through the car screen under Manual Setup. There will be a QR code, but they will not "add vehicle" in the Lexus App. They will type in their email address and password to the system on the car to register the profile.
      3. Only the Primary Profile can setup and share Digital Keys
      4. Primary and secondary profiles can do the Link Key to profile step to allow the car to more quickly handshake for the connected profile when you enter the vehicle.
      I have learned that the Link Key for the key fobs is an important step, I would recommend not skipping that.
      I hope this all makes sense for you. I'm working on the deep dive tutorial and hope to have it finished in a few weeks. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for tuning in with me!

    • @NorthsideLexus

      Hi Elaine. Here's what we have found:
      1. Select a preferred key and follow the steps to Link the Key to your profile. Settings > Personal Info > Link Key
      2. Make sure to keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both turned on on your phone. The Bluetooth connection starts the handshake, but the Wi-Fi (not the paid hotspot, but just having the signal on for the car and phone to share data) make the mirroring possible.
      I hope this helps. We have reported other people with the same situation and these have been the recommended steps. All the best!🤞

      Hi! Thanks so much for tuning in! I wish I had a solid answer for you on that. It really seems to vary based on the location of the dealership, if there are any port installations or steps that need to be done, how are the transport companies running, etc. I would say, in general, that it can a 3 - 4 weeks, but with the supply chain and transportation issues that a lot of ports are having it could be longer. Your dealership might have more information about when it is in transit. Hope this helps.

    I just bought a 22 NX 450H+ and it's absolutely amazing. My question, how do you change primary from one profile to another?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 года назад

      Hi! If you already have the profiles setup and you declined to change to Primary during the setup process, then do the following: Remove the current secondary profile: Settings > Edit > Click the minus sign by the additional profile. Turn the car off.
      Add the secondary profile back to the system: Open their Lexus app, make sure they are signed in, turn on the car, Settings > look for "Detected Profiles," click on their profile name, enter their PIN, follow the steps to connect, when asked if you want to make this the Primary, click yes and follow the steps to add the vehicle to their garage, Scan the QR code, give permission for the trial periods, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, etc. Once they are the new Primary, you will need to add the other account as the secondary account. The secondary will not scan the QR code and will not have the vehicle showing in their Lexus app. I hope this helps! Congratulations on your new NX 450h+ I can't wait to see one! • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 года назад

      Hi! Unfortunately only one profile can have Remote access since only the Primary profile can add the VIN to the app. Additional profiles are setup through the vehicle on screen and they do not have the added step of adding vehicle to the Lexus app garage. We have submitted feedback to Lexus telling them it would be great to be able to share Remote Connect privileges. I'm not sure if they can, or if they can, I'm not sure how long a change like that would take, but we thought it was worth asking for it. Fingers crossed. Thanks very much for tuning in.
      A workaround that I have thought of is to have the Primary profile link their Lexus app to the Alexa Skill for Lexus. Then if you both know the PIN you set up, you could say to Alexa: "Alexa, ask Lexus to start my car." Then give the PIN when prompted. If you try it, let me know what you think :)

The quick way to turn those items on and off in the NX is to click on the shortcut menu soft button on screen (it has a lot of little boxes and is next to the one that says "Climate"). That opens the shortcut to all kinds of safety features. Just click to turn off and then you can turn them back on after the car wash is finished. If you have automatic rain sensing windshield wipers you should turn those off as well. Hope this helps. All the best!

      Hi @Rextundra, It sounds like you are have the profile connection issue that a lot of people are experiencing. Lexus will be releasing an OTA update coming this summer that will fix that loading issue. In the meantime, here's a workaround: Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility > ACC Customize > Toggle it to on. Then make sure you have a key linked to the NX: Settings > Personal Info > Link Key > toggle to on (just click it one time. It will beep, then turn blue after a few seconds.) Then the car will use your key to recognize your profile so it will load faster. It does mean that the main screen and radio will turn off when you turn the car off, rather than when you open the door. But it should solve the profile issue until they have the update. Hope this helps! Thanks for tuning in with us!

      Hi! Thanks so much for this info. I am hearing about this from a few others as well. The recommendation from Lexus it to make sure you select a key fob and then do the Link Key step in your profile.
      - Turn on the NX.
      - Have your phone on and with you, but not plugged in to any USB port.
      - Bring only the key fob you would like to designate as your fob. (All other keys at least 20 feet away).
      - On the car screen: Open Settings (Gear icon in the Lexus Menu Bar)
      - If your profile is available, but not actively connected, click on your profile name on the right side of the screen. Enter you Lexus App PIN when prompted.
      - Once your profile is actively connected to the car: Click on Personal Info on the left side of the screen.
      - Click the toggle for Link Key. It will beep then take a second to turn blue, letting you know the key is linked to your Profile.
      This should speed up the profile handshake so it is not relying just on your phone to see your profile.
      I hope this helps. If it doesn't solve the problem, please let me know and I will keep digging. We are all learning together! Thanks so much for tuning in!

    My local car wash is a conveyor and at the end of the wash I have to put the car in drive to pull away. Doing this in my NX I have to put my foot on the brake and have the car come to a complete stop in order for the car to go back into drive? Doing this my car jumps over the conveyor and now the car wash comes to a stop and the car behind me is closer to the back or my NX. Is there a wok around for this?

      Hi Rextundra, Sorry for the delay. I haven't gotten to try this for you, but I was wondering if using the Brake hold feature would be the best option. You would still need to turn off your Parking Sensors and Auto Windshield Wipers, but it could be better. With the car in Drive, come to a complete stop, press the Brake Hold button, you will see the feature on in green, when you see HOLD light up in gold, then you can remove your foot from the brake. Then at the end of the car wash cycle, you can just apply the accelerator and you will start moving again. Should be a nice and smooth. I hope this helps. Let me know how it works for you.

      Hi! If the vehicle is not prompting you with the Welcome screen, you can do a System Reset if the command is available: Settings > Security & Info > System Reset Then then turn the car for a few minutes to all the reset to complete and see if that will get it to pop up.
      Option 2: Open your Lexus App, sign in, then turn the car on. Go to Settings and look for "Detected Profiles," click on your name and enter your PIN, follow the steps to setup your profile. Remember that only a Primary Profile will have the Scan QR Code step. Any additional profile will not have the vehicle added to their app account garage, but they weir profile will be saved on the car for customizable features. I hope this helps!

      Hi Cesar, It sounds like you are having the profile connection issue a lot of people are experiencing. Thanks for tuning in with me!

      Hi CambridgePLettings, Unfortunately there can only be one Primary driver profile that has control of the subscriptions and can have the VIN attached to their account for the Remote features. We have requested the capability to share remote access, but I don't know if Lexus will make that change. Some workarounds:
      - Have the Primary driver setup and link the Lexus Skill for Alexa or Lexus Action for Google Home, then use your smart speaker to remote start the vehicle with the saved Remote Climate settings made in the Primary Driver's app.
      - Have the secondary driver logout of their profile and into the Primary driver's profile to use the Remote features. I know that is a bit of a pain, but it would technically work. Once we have a better solution for this challenge, I will get the word out. Thanks so much!

Hopefully it will come sooner and I will be able to film on it before it is sold. The other challenge right now, is almost everything is presold. It's a great problem for a dealership to have, but it makes detailed filming tricky. If I come up with some other way to get a hold of one, I will definitely film it as much as I can. It seems that the obvious differences will be the learning curve around charging, how to operate the auto locking feature for the charging port, how to customize your charge times to make the most of your charging time. I'm sure there are some other screens and settings, but I just don't know about them yet. The deep dive videos I'm doing for the main NX allocation will help you a lot though. I will review every single button, bell and whistle I can get my hands on and many or them will apply to your Lexus. There are some good videos on RUclips about the RAV4 Prime and the Prius Prime. I would check those out to learn more about charging for a PHEV. Hopefully that will help you also. Thanks again! - Melissa

      Hi Tony. It sounds like you are experiencing some profile loading issues. I've got some tips for you, but I would also be on the look out for another software update that should take the software version to 1050 or higher. Then the system won't kick you out to Guest mode and it will always load the last profile that was active on the car. For now though try this: 1. Turn ACC Customize to On instead of Off. (This means the car will need to on to start communicating with the phone and it will help the profile recognition more accurately). 2. Make sure your key is linked to your profile. 3. Make sure you are locking the car. Profile recognition is part of the unlocking process. The system will see the linked key, then your phone (make sure Bluetooth and WiFi are turned on on the phone to support wireless connectivity), then your profile should load correctly and consistently. I hope this helps. I know it has been frustrating for a lot of people who are having the same challenges. Hopefully this next OTA won't take too much longer to be released. Thanks for checking in. @@Bighairyjoesph Hi! Until the OTA comes out that gets your Head Unit the software version of 1050 or higher, I would leave ACC Customize in the On mode. It seems to help the car to see your phone. When it is in the Off mode, it allows the car to look for phone signals when you approach the car and it isn't on yet. This works really well with the new software, but it works a little too well with the first gen of the software and the system seem to "see" too many signals (phones, smart TVs, smart printers, etc.) so it can't lock in on your phone and you get kicked out to Guest mode. So frustrating for sure. With the new software you will not get kicked out to Guest. If it can't see your linked key or the phone it will just go to the last profile that was active on the car. Sooooo much better!

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 года назад

      Hi Mark! Great to have you here! If you are going through the Welcome screen you might not be prompted to create a PIN. Also, if the Lexus app account has a previously saved PIN, that stays with the account and can be found in the Security settings of the Lexus App under Account. However, you aren't going through the Welcome screen (the screen with the language selection) and you are in the Lexus Interface Settings screen: the system is able to detect near-by Lexus App accounts. They will show as a list. You can click on the Lexus App account that has been "seen" by the car and enter the PIN already associated with that Guest's Lexus app. If they have never made a PIN in their settings on the app it will offer a QR code on screen that will send you back to the Lexus app on the phone to make a PIN. This can get confusing, so I recommend clicking on the "X" in the top corner, open the Lexus App > Account > Security Settings > make or reset the six-digit PIN, then go back to the car screen and click on their name as an available detected profile. It will ask for the PIN, enter the PIN you just made and you should be sent to through the remainder of the setup process. Thanks very much for checking in!

      @@mea1831 It sounds like you have a profile connection problem. This is pretty common right now as people are getting better acquainted with the vehicle. Lexus is also working on a software update that will make this process smoother for all of us. In the meantime try this. Go to Settings > vehicle customization > Utility > ACC Customize and toggle the feature to on so you’ll see a purpleish blue color on the toggle. Then make sure you have your key linked to your profile. From the settings gear on the bottom left corner look for your name on the top left corner if you don’t see your name then your profile is not connected. Look for your name on the right hand side under saved or detected profiles. Click on your name and then enter your six digit pin to reconnect your profile. Once you know your profile is connected click personal info on the left side list and then link your key. You’ll see that toggle on the right hand side. Whenever you get in the car and turn it on you should always see your phones operating system on the top left-hand corner. If you only see the arrow that you described and the music symbol below that then you are seeing the guest mode of Lexus Interface.
      The 9 dots you described are the apple CarPlay apps menu icon. That shows up when Apple CarPlay is on anything but the apps menu.
      Hopefully this will help get things sorted out for you but definitely be on the lookout for the next over the air update which will be coming late August or early September. It’s going to help with profile selection especially when there are multiple drivers.
      Another thing to look for when your profile is connected, make sure that on the Bluetooth and devices screen your phone in really small gray print underneath your phones name says primary and connected. If it doesn’t let me know and I’ll talk to you through how to fix that.

      Hello Melissa. Another fantastic video, I've learned so much and passed on a few things that my salesman didn't know.
      I am a bit confused by your reply above as to how to best setup a couple to a shared vehicle.
      If my wife signs up a new profile on the app on her phone and we add that to the car as a second profile she wouldnt have access to the remote connect as I am the primary driver, right?
      So if she then signs in with my account, how would the car know to use her memory seat positions?
      I'm think king that the best thing is to only setup one profile account on both phones then I use one memory position and she uses another.
      This will loose the advantage of having seperate favourites for radio presets and lighting, etc but I can't figure out any other way for the car to know which of us is in the drivers seat if we are both in the car.
      Maybe by manually disabling the key fob (double press lock and hold, then press unlock at the same time, if that works on this key fob) then the car would only see one fob at a time even though we were both in the car?
      Or am I over complicating this?
      We are picking up an RX350H on Monday and I'd like to get this sorted as I'm going away on a business trip a few days after getting the new car and my wife is worried that she wouldn't be able to set this up once I'm away.

      1. Does the seat beep when you move it around? (Is so, it needs to be recalibrated. Just move the seat to the maximum adjustment and hold for 3 seconds, do this for every possible position adjustment)
      2. Then make sure your Driver Profile is active on the car, since the memory seats settings are profile specific.
      3. Make sure you have only your selected key in the car and link the key through settings: Settings > Personal Info > Link Key (click on the toggle only one time. You should hear a beep and then it will turn blue after a few seconds.)
      Once your key is linked, if you are having profile loading issues and that is what is causing the seats not to recall your position: Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility > ACC Customize > Toggle to On (This will allow the system to recognize your profile from your key for a faster connection.) I hope this helps!
