I'm not trying to hijack your tutorial, but if folks don't have tshirt yarn, but have lots of scrap yarn, they can hold 3 strands of 4 weight yarn together and achieve the same outcome 🙂. (That is how I make all my baskets)
OMG. I was talking with a friend about FB algorithms and advertising etc. I mentioned that I think FB reads your mind also. (I know tin foil hat...) but, I have just finished crocheting some small pumpkins and was THINKING of making a basket to put them. Low and behold, before I even look for a pattern....Happy to see it was Crystal catching my wave! Thanks for the pattern Crystal 😉
😄😄😄😄 Right!!! But yeah, the data available for generalized thought process combined with your personal likes is usually the actual culprit. 😅😅😅 A friend of mine teaches a college class about this. 😁😁😁
I have T shirt yarn in my stash, never used it !!!! Its 2 big cones of red, I can feel Christmas baskets calling me. Thank you Crystal, for getting me thinking, my poor old brain needs it , sometimes .Hope the sick and afflicted , at the bag o day clinic are getting better. Have a good weekend . Love Pat in London
Thank you so much for sharing your tutorials! Without your videos i would not know how to crochet and it has really helped me with my depression. You have really helped me more then you know. And im always so excited to see your videos.🖤🖤🖤
I love this....my youngest daughter uses baskets EVERYWHERE. My oldest stepdaughter is adopting a little boy, so the more baskets she can have, the better. So easy to move things around.
Have this yarn in 4 pastel colors. Got a very good buy, so bought it and figured I would use it one day. Well it's here and thank you very much. I knew I would use it sooner or later thank you very much.
This color scheme so makes me think of both poodle skirts AND Audrey Hepburn! I see a whole set for a ladies bathroom or dresser. One for cotton pads/balls, one for q-tips, tissues, ring basket/tray (in a smaller weight), anything, etc. I love it! Thx for sharing! ☮️ ❤️
Love the color combo! My niece would love this basket and I think this is a perfect Christmas present idea! Thanks for the idea! I also never knew how to hide the tails! Your wonderful!
Thank you for this easy, basket tutorial. I ran across 👕 T-shirt yarn at the Flying Tiger 🐯 store this morning (25 meters for €3.00) and I cannot wait to make this basket with it! 👏☺️
Crystal you are the best, in teaching me how to do something easy. You knew how to get my attention on this. I have never used this t-shirt yarn 🧶 but it looks neat! Thank goodness for you!
I love this tutorial Crystal. I had no idea what could be made with t/shirt yarn other than a rug. They would make lovely stocking filler gifts for Christmas, and also handy to fill up with treats for the children. ~ Thanks for this Tutorial it's very much appreciated ~ x
Love the basket! I need to make a few for my quilt room! I need to get some t-shirt yarn. Thank you, you do such a great job with your instructions!💕stay safe and stay healthy!
Or just try one with 3 strands of a medium weight yarn before you buy the t-shirt yarn. I tried it and now, I'm making baskets of both. My grandsons love the t-shirt yarn, but my granddaughters love the ones with the regular yarn. Probably because they like mixing several colors at a time. 😂
Love this tutorial for a basket! Been wanting to make one for my dogs toys but wasn't sure how to do the sides. Thanks Crystal. You make everything look so easy. Have a Blessed Weekend.
Amazing tutorial as always. Thank you so much for all of the work you put into these videos. They are fantastic! My daughter loves pink & would love a basket like that.
*ADORABLE & I LOVE IT 💝💝💝!* I LOVE PINK & BLACK TOGETHER OR PINK & GRAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH CRYSTAL 😊💝! PLEASE GIVE YOUR PRECIOUS FAMILY MY LOVE & HOPING THEY FEEL MUCH BETTER VERY VERY SOON 🙏✝💝💙! GOD BLESS & LOVE YOU OUR PRECIOUS GIRL 🙏✝💝!
Great job. Wings for November asks for chunky baskets. I think this will pass because it stands up. Rose says crocheting with multiple strands will work but I like this pattern because it will work up fast and it adjustable in size. Thanks. Hugs 🤗 😇
I hate this yarn but love the end results. My wrists are sensitive from carpal tunnel. I'll try the 3 strand technique. Thank you for making this video. 🥰 Love to watch your creativity unfold
Very cool. Want to make this, too. Think that would make a good yarn bowl. Plenty of room for a large skein or two to roll around in, if you make it large enough.
I always love your videos b/c they're so clear and I always am able to follow along with ease and have successful projects. I've made SO many beautiful things from your videos, so, thank you. :) However, I found this one to be really confusing. I didn't use t-shirt yarn, but Mandala thick and quick and figured it'd be okay (it's the variegated yarn). I also did a couple more rounds for my base b/c it was suggested that we could. (I ended up doing 4 singles, then 2 singles in the same stitch as my last row for the base). The project was starting to curl up a bit too. Then, even though I didn't switch colors, I tied off the yarn did a few rows of SC. All the while, the sides are not coming up and it basically looks like a warped record that was left in the sun. :( I kept going and tied off the yarn again and then was surprised to see that we had to crochet from the outside, inwards. At 12:06 you state that we're doing it just like we did before (SC) and I stopped and thought, 'wait, was I supposed to have crocheted inwards on the two previous rows as well?? ::facepalm:: ::shrug:: I'll keep going...b/c at this point I've used almost a full skein of yarn and the sides are not coming up, nor is there a distinctive base (warped record). :( I keep wondering when it will resemble any sort of basket...or, if I just need to give up and chuck it in the garbage. :( I counted my stitches and I didn't make a mistake so, I've no clue what's wrong. I feel like this video should specify that it's *only* for t-shirt yarn and to follow along *exactly* as you are doing...not to suggest that ppl can make the base as many rounds as they want b/c it gets confusing and never resembles a basket.. :( I'm sorry, that was long! Maybe it's just me?I just felt like there could be a little more clarity. or, maybe I'm having an off day and need more coffee...lol.
Hi Crystal thank you for sharing with every body how are you very beautiful colors how are you doing today I am doing fine today stay safe hugs and kisses 💙💙🐕
Hi Crystal, love the basket. I was wondering if you ever made one of those moses baskets for babies? Im alway on the look out for one. But all the ones i like are just showing the baskets. Not how to make them. If so, please let me know so i can look for it on your page. Thank you
I made this when you posted the video three years ago. Lion Brand has since discontinued the yarn. Just pointing it out so people don't get disappointed when they can't find the yarn.
Great basket! I would love to try making t-shirt yarn. Do you have a tutorial for that? I'm working on the hooded scarf from your recent tutorial, while watching/listening to your videos from today. Two giveaways, a review, and 2 tutorials...you've been busy! Thanks for the awesome content!
I'm not trying to hijack your tutorial, but if folks don't have tshirt yarn, but have lots of scrap yarn, they can hold 3 strands of 4 weight yarn together and achieve the same outcome 🙂. (That is how I make all my baskets)
Great idea!! ❤
Same
I made a small Christmas basket that way using solid green, red and white super saver. I put scented pine cones in it.
Crystal approved! Thanks for the idea I don’t have any of that yarn in my stash yet 👍
You can make yarn out of an old tee shirt too, plenty of tutorials out there
Thank you 🌷 I'm going to make a larger one of these for my 84years young mum for Christmas 🌲
Its a "crystal bowl". I love all of your tutorials.

I've been seeing a lot of fabric baskets on Pinterest. This is awesome. I may have to try making one.
What a cool idea to put books or magazines in. As it gets colder & we’re inside more these will come in handy.
Perfect timing. I just bought some size 6 yarn to make a container to place a potted plant in.Thank you!
Have this yarn in 4 pastel colors. Got a very good buy, so bought it and figured I would use it one day. Well it's here and thank you very much. I knew I would use it sooner or later thank you very much.

Love the pink and black. Thank you Crystal.

Soooooo dang cute!!!!! I wonder how old sheets would work? Probably hard on your wrists. Thanks, Crystal! ❤️
Ive heard of using the old sheets for crochet rugs and baskets as well as dog beds and toys!
Love the color combo - such a cute basket!
I love this tutorial Crystal. I had no idea what could be made with t/shirt yarn other than a rug. They would make lovely stocking filler gifts for Christmas, and also handy to fill up with treats for the children. ~ Thanks for this Tutorial it's very much appreciated ~ x
That is so cute. Yet, another project for me to complete. My list is getting longer and longer. Thank you.
So you can probably do a rug w/this yarn also? I love the old school braided rugs....
Me too. I just don't have any out because I'm afraid that the dog will pee on it
