Another great video! This was really, really helpful. There are so many morphs... I have had such a hard time up until now trying to distinguish them. Thank you!!
amazing video, it really clarified all the confusion I've had in trying to figure out all the morphs. I swear every single gecko is your absolute favorite :)
Altitude Exotics do you sell any morphs ? And do you have a Instagram or email address. I wanna send you a pic of my gecko I just bought and I don't know what type it is
Very informative! My wife has recently fallen in love with cresties (started wtih two females at a local expo 10 months ago to now two breeding pairs, a lone male, 1 store bought juvenile, 5 babies hatched [6 more eggs incubating], and 2 gargoyles!) and loves learning about morphs and genetics! I sub'd.
This has helped me a lot! I’m also trying to learn more so I can help educate the pet store employee who thinks the different colors are called “breeds” 🤦🏻♀️
i just got a cresty a couple days ago and idk what the morph is but s/he's red when fired up but has like mostly pinstripe besides the end near the tail and stuff.
NeonGecko I know what you mean, my lil' guy got more spots after his shed when he started with two, now he has plenty more, I'm excited to see the day he gets bigger than my thumb.
Are low contrast dalmatian cresties a thing? My little dude has different shades of yellow, copper, and tan spots and splotches on an amber background. It's next to impossible to get an accurate photo of him. When he's really excited about something, he looks like a living fire opal.
+Madison Whitaker there is really no one answer to that. Even within each morph prices can vary by hundreds and hundreds of dollars based on size, age, sex and individual pattern.
I have no idea what morph mine is, she's green on her sides and cream and white along her head and back. No pinstripes but she's by far the most beautiful created I've seen. I also have never seen a green crested so I was wondering if that's a common thing?
Just found your videos Brian. Nice job. Drippy- WAY overrated. Of course, I would have to put the creamsicle (check your spelling :) higher and the Red Harley at the God level of crested gecko morphs. Good to see different opinions.
i have a crested gecko that looks like a flame creamcicle but shes not close to orange off camera, she looks very grey on her sides and wen she flames up she turnes very very dark grey, plz watch my vid off Violet and comment wat morph she is plz and thx
Getting my first gecko this weekend, got no clue what morph it was, (seller doesnt know either) But after 40 years of a full reptile bann I can finally have a cresite :D
Thanks, now I just hope us norwegians can also get all these exciting goodies you americans and other europeans have, we have alot of catch-up to do! :D
Think i might have gone abit overboard I got a huge tank, and then the geckoes the breeder had were small hatchlings. Well atleast the viv gets time to grow in hehe.
I have a beautiful tiger flame creamcicle (I think) I know he's definitely flame But the tiger stripes on the body aren't as big as they used to be (I know that's normal) And he is slightly more yellow than orange but when he fires up he goes a really bright orange
Don't know if this is true but, I've heard this guy sells crested geckos for way more than they're priced, he takes your money and doesn't get back to you.
How would I even do this? For one, if I was taking money and not delivering geckos at best I'd out of business and known far and wide across the reptile industry. (People have tried this, I myself got scammed this was in the past as I've shared on this channel) At worst I'd be in jail, you know because of laws. Also, how exactly does one sell geckos for way more than their priced? If I price a gecko at $100, am I supposed to be using voodoo mind control to make people actually send $300 instead? I'm confused.....
It can be very hard to tell. A breeder knows because they would know what geckos produced the animal in question. Visually, Charcoals are more dark brown with cream marking on their tails. Axanthics can range from white to pure black and all shades of grey in between and any white markings on the tail are pure paper white. If the genetics or lineage of an animal are unknown, proving the mutation out via breeding is the only way to confirm its morph. This goes for any mutation, not just axanthic and charcoal.
@@AltitudeExotics OK thank you, I recently hatched out a dark almost patternless Gecko from a first pairing of a couple of my Geckos that I have had for many years. It is very different to the parents and any of the other 7 eggs I have hatched from this pair. I was wondering if I had just got incredibly lucky as I had had never had one like it before lol
IHaveAGoodName I got fairly lucky, I got my crested gecko almost a month ago now(he's a baby) and the reptile store I bought him for doesn't know crested gecko morphs and aft the first few days I noticed he had a couple black spots on his neck, and fast ford after a week of having him he shed and now has a bunch more spots, with a partial pinstripe, obviously since I don't know fully what else is in him that's about as much as I can guess until he gets bigger. He's such a good boy. Or at least I hope he's a boy because I'm overprotective of my pets and one of the reptile youtubers I watch lost her crested gecko from getting egg bound.
Elisha Coombes My baby crested gecko that I've had for almost a month has a partial pinstripe and Dalmatian spots, I've decided instead of having kids, he is my kid.
Do only the Pinstripes have those spikes all along their back? I am getting two cresteds from a friend and neither of us know what their morphs are but I need to know for breeding purposes.
No I haven't, but I've been researching all about them for months. I just wanted to breed some for the experience and maybe in a few years I'll get a nice breeding set up to breeding more seriously
Ok, so I'm challenged when it comes to genetics (I'm still trying to figure it out). Say you have a super dal (not that it makes a difference, but extreme ink spots vs regular, essentially looks like marilyn pretty much exactly, just fatter 😆) mother and a pinstripe dal father, what percentage of the babies are super dals? And what about a normal dal/normal dal combo? Is it 50/50 each? I feel like it would be 50/50 being they are co-dominant... but I could totally be wrong. Punnett squares are still somewhat of an enigma to me but that's because I didn't go to highschool in the us so I'm literally seeing them for the first time, plus I don't have all my knowledge on the traits yet and which are dominant/co-dominant/recessive but I'm taking notes haha
+Steve Munn When crested geckos loose their tails they do not grow them back like other lizards. They can loose they tails for a number of reasons. Anything from getting it pinched in a cage door to breeding to just getting startled by thunder.
Altitude Exotics thank you for replying, most people don't bother, thank you for explaining as we didn't know if it was a male/female thing. At the moment we have a collection of 40 ball pythons 6 corn snakes 5 leopard gecko 3 African fat tails 2 bearded dragon 2 tortoises and a veiled chameleon and we are now thinking of moving on to crested geckos and would like to know the pros and cons, once again great video steve and Michelle 👍🏻🇬🇧
I have a beautiful tiger flame creamcicle (I think) I know he's definitely flame But the tiger stripes on the body aren't as big as they used to be (I know that's normal) And he is slightly more yellow than orange but when he fires up he goes a really bright orange
love the crested gecko, greetings from Indonesia reptile lovers
I'm so glad you mentioned the Lilly Whites! Truly exciting!
Another great video! This was really, really helpful. There are so many morphs... I have had such a hard time up until now trying to distinguish them. Thank you!!

+The Tiki Gecko thank you
Nice video Brian, very informative
Charcoals are soo gorgeous and the drippy dorsal is awesome!!
amazing video, it really clarified all the confusion I've had in trying to figure out all the morphs. I swear every single gecko is your absolute favorite :)
+First name Last name haha. It's hard to pick just one.
Altitude Exotics do you sell any morphs ? And do you have a Instagram or email address. I wanna send you a pic of my gecko I just bought and I don't know what type it is

Chuck Horne thanks for watching! Congrats on the hatchlings and good luck with all your geckos in the future :)
Great explanation of the morphs
Thank you for the great video on morphs! I really liked the bits about the history of their origin, too.
Very informative! I love it!! My dream gecko would be a Lilly white extreme dalmatian!😍
Amazing job!!! Now that's perfect
+Mattia Baricordi thank you!
Charcoal and Axant are my favorite! Also some of the pinstripes look like moldy bananas.
I actually knew ofsomeone who had a gecko they named Rotten Banana
I have a lilly white there amazing
can't wait to see those Lilly white projects
This has helped me a lot! I’m also trying to learn more so I can help educate the pet store employee who thinks the different colors are called “breeds” 🤦🏻♀️
What About The Black Jack Line??
i just got a cresty a couple days ago and idk what the morph is but s/he's red when fired up but has like mostly pinstripe besides the end near the tail and stuff.
New Sub I've watched a lot of ur vids and I have learned a lot hey I wish u much success
Great video of the gecko looking forward to getting one
This makes me excited to see what my babies color's officially settle as!
NeonGecko I know what you mean, my lil' guy got more spots after his shed when he started with two, now he has plenty more, I'm excited to see the day he gets bigger than my thumb.
I have a Dalmatian :D
Same

My crested gecko has a couple small dots cause shes still sorta small but none if them looked like mine
Can you still tell when a Charcoal flares?
+greenley77 yes, they are black fired up and light grey fired down.
The Axanthic Is 🔥🔥I Would Love To Have 1...
I love ink spots, they are just show stoppers
2022 update?
All morphs are beautiful anyway 😊
I'm getting 1 tommorow I'm extremely exited YAYYYyY
How did that go
Lily whites with red Dalmatian spots
You should do the most common price ranges on each morph
+Madison Whitaker there is really no one answer to that. Even within each morph prices can vary by hundreds and hundreds of dollars based on size, age, sex and individual pattern.
I would love to get a lily white and an axanthic and breed them together.
I have no idea what morph mine is, she's green on her sides and cream and white along her head and back. No pinstripes but she's by far the most beautiful created I've seen. I also have never seen a green crested so I was wondering if that's a common thing?
i have 1 phantom pinstripe & 2 dalmation crested geckos
I like all of them.
So what really allows you to differ a Lilly white from a super harlequin
I have a harlequin and a harlequin Dalmatian
Just found your videos Brian. Nice job. Drippy- WAY overrated. Of course, I would have to put the creamsicle (check your spelling :) higher and the Red Harley at the God level of crested gecko morphs. Good to see different opinions.

Does anyone have any information on the moprh in the thumbnail?
Getting my first gecko this weekend, got no clue what morph it was, (seller doesnt know either) But after 40 years of a full reptile bann I can finally have a cresite :D

So what would you call a solid tan with hardly any distinguishing marks?
Nice vid.
Can i send you a picture of my crested to see what morph he is?
my crested gecko has a pin strip dalmtion print and hallawee print. What would morph would he be?
Anxanthic or Pinstripe. I really like the Lavender Cream ones though
Wish you were in Canada!
Is there an update to this? Haha
Ahhh I've been wondering what the correct name was for these things. Insane money though.
Don't know if this is true but, I've heard this guy sells crested geckos for way more than they're priced, he takes your money and doesn't get back to you.

how is the crested gecko market are they saturated like bearded dragons what is it like for breeders
How do you know which is the base colour and how they are layered? This always confuses me! xD
I have a leopard gecko, I'm 90% sure I'm going to get a crested. I'm either going to get a pinstripe or dalmatian.
IHaveAGoodName I got fairly lucky, I got my crested gecko almost a month ago now(he's a baby) and the reptile store I bought him for doesn't know crested gecko morphs and aft the first few days I noticed he had a couple black spots on his neck, and fast ford after a week of having him he shed and now has a bunch more spots, with a partial pinstripe, obviously since I don't know fully what else is in him that's about as much as I can guess until he gets bigger. kitten fish a
I really want a dalmation but they are super expensive!
I have a flame with Dalmatian spots
I have a blonde coloured harlequin, 2 tricolour/pinstripes and one we rescued I'm not 100% sure on. I think also a harlequin. Just slightly darker. :)
Elisha Coombes My baby crested gecko that I've had for almost a month has a partial pinstripe and Dalmatian spots, I've decided instead of having kids, he is my kid.
Dalmatian looks awsome
Can u tell me what morph mine is
What about a flame crested gecko
Do only the Pinstripes have those spikes all along their back? I am getting two cresteds from a friend and neither of us know what their morphs are but I need to know for breeding purposes.
Emily Nicole you should be able to answer your own question if you are going to breed animals, have you ever kept a crestie before?
No I haven't, but I've been researching all about them for months. I just wanted to breed some for the experience and maybe in a few years I'll get a nice breeding set up to breeding more seriously
Count how many times he say my favourite animal
This should be a drinking game.... 🍸🧉
Where can I buy one of you're charcoals?
His number one , I saw of of them in a pet store I regret not buying it . It was $40 it was almost a adult
That was a nonsense even in the time u posted this comment xd
Quick question boss
How much would a juvenile red harlequin cost? (price range) i really like the last red female red harlequin (neon red)
+Michael Fabregas a really high quality juvie red harlequin would usually be in the $150 range.
Altitude Exotics thank you for your respond.. I would love a neon red gecko cause it's my favor color
+Michael Fabregas I just listed a neon red pin male and many other geckos for auction on our Facebook page tonight.

Patternless and Dalmatians are my favorite, confetti line is my favorite line of Dalmatians.
Bandit Reptiles I'm with you on the Dalmatians
Breed the Lilly white with axanthic
+Dino Vilardo
That is something I am looking forward to trying!
I have a pinstripe crested gecko. I got him for 50 pounds.
Amazing animals but how come some don't have tails, 👍🏻steve and Michelle 🇬🇧
+Steve Munn When crested geckos loose their tails they do not grow them back like other lizards. They can loose they tails for a number of reasons. Anything from getting it pinched in a cage door to breeding to just getting startled by thunder.

Steve Munn keep posted on our channel here. I have tons more videos to come with lots of information :)
PLEASE make a twitter account I have so many questions!
the pinstripe variations are kinda bs though.
you should breed lily white and charcoal
+Spooky Skeleton we most certainly will!
How much are axanthics
+FracturedSage 38 When available they will range between $5000-$7000 to start.
Wow I knew they would be expensive but wow that's a lot
Altitude Exotics what the cheapest morphs?
I think my gecko is in this video?! Like. The picture from the breeder I got him from
+Macey Gilson thanks for watching! Which gecko?
Altitude Exotics it's on around 5:30 the top one ! If not it looks a lot like my boy
Altitude Exotics my boys a little darker. I found the stock picture lol. I was going to link it but I can't
Mines a pinstripe
You really need better camra angles. I feel like your really far away and no one can see what your doing.
I wanna see a leucistic lily white. Make it happen! :)
I have a beautiful tiger flame creamcicle (I think)
I know he's definitely flame
But the tiger stripes on the body aren't as big as they used to be (I know that's normal)
And he is slightly more yellow than orange but when he fires up he goes a really bright orange
