My remix on android only allows me to "cut". However this works on Hubby's Iphone gives full access as shown. But, longform video is in 16:9. So short shows 9:16 cutting off parts of video. Help?
So I’ve been using this method to make shorts on a channel I run, and now I no longer have this option… did RUclips change this or put the feature somewhere else now?
@@YOGALIFEwithAmelia I found out what caused this…. At least for me…. If the video you are trying to make a short out of had a copyright claim, even if it’s in dispute, you CANNOT use it to make a short.

I texted the clip to myself then the remix button appeared but the ratio for the short is skinnier than the ratio for the wide yt video so some key points were cut out
No. You can only do this using the mobile app on a phone or tablet.. It was driving me crazy until I figured it out. Fortunately, it's very easy as the video shows.

@@MAJOYDACIA just a couple of other things to confirm. You can only remix your own full length videos if you have enabled that feature on the video. You have to make sure you have selected “Allow video and audio remixing” under the Shorts remixing on that video.
For those wondering why they can't find the "Edit into a Short" option, it's because it's now under the Remix menu. This also is only possible using the iOS or Android apps, not PC.

I think remix option is only available; if while uploading your longer video, you have allowed remix video or audio option. Then it is possible to appear in options. Else not.

For everyone saying the option is missing. Click on the video you want to edit. Play the video. In the ribbon below the video you will see a remix option. In this option you can create the short. I just tried it on my phone, I didn't see the option until I actually played the video.

Although this does work, I tried making a YT Short with my video I uploaded in 4k, the image quality of the short looks pixelated and washed out. (Watch the short and the beginning part of the YT video I took it from, you'll see what I mean.) Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! I haven't found any solutions on the internet and wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same as me.

Hey there, the link is added automatically. If you check at 4:21 you'll see it appear on the bottom right on the video. I didn't actually add a link, I HIGHLIGHTED the link so someone would click on it 😉 Hope that helps 😉

Hi, to do so, first we need to click our video before creating a short, then ads will run, so this can be a violation of youtube ads policy???

The Create button is only visible if you're using RUclips on a phone, at least that's the case for me. I could not find it on the web version.
