  • Tag along this week as I dive into the track review of our 2019 Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory at Atlanta Motorsports Park. Video includes some track footage along with wreck footage recovered from corrupted Insta 360 cam that survived the wreck. We also discuss what happened, why it may have happened, and the plan with the Aprilia moving forward.

Had the same type of crash on my 2017 RSV4. To this day cannot explain it very precisely. I feel however that the initial “bite” of the opening of throttle on a V4 (the torque of it in that moment as opposed to the more linear L4) detaches the front from the ground on lean if suspension is not properly setup (maybe too soft?) and this happens. What do you think? PS Totally spot on on the bike feedback: best one for me as well.

That is an interesting thought and does make sense. The plan right now is to get some stickier rubber on her and see what we can do, also probably try a bigger track. I like the thought though, my suspension is on more of a street tune so that with the touring tires could have all added up.

.. the first thing i upgraded on my Aprilia are some slicks. I am scared of this scenario. Thank you for the review even after the incident 👍

It depends on how hard you want to go in the track, as you aren't a pro you go there to have some fun and scratch the knee in a safe environment you don't need slicks but good tires that are made to go both road and track and obviously you will destroy them in 2-3 times you go on track depending of the level of the skills and pace you have

@jeffo_511 I appreciate that, she is still a street bike for a decent amount of the time so sadly until I get an extra set of wheels we can't go too crazy lol

Metzler Sportec M7 RR not the most sporty tire, but I wouldn't quite call them touring tires.
