Brown Sugar. It's a great song, and forget your comfort. It was written quickly by Jagger on a piece of legal paper. It's a great song and the lyrics are perfect. Honourable Mention to "Jivin' Sister Fanny" and "I've got the Blues." Also, for what it's worth, "Angie" was written by Keith about his addiction to Heroin. "Angie" is just a name that Keith pulled out of the ether. This list was compiled by non-fans and so were the liner notes. The songs are all great, but this list is garbage. How the hell didn't Midnight Rambler not make this list?
Honorable mentions: Dead Flowers, She’s a Rainbow, Waiting on a Friend, Rocks Off, & Moonlight Mile Edit: Get Off My Cloud, Miss Amanda Jones, When the Whip Comes Down, Hang Fire & Under My Thumb
*The Last Time,It`s Only Rock And Roll,All Down The Line,2000 Light Years From Home,Highwire,All Sold Out,Yesterday`s Papers,Citadel,Monkey Man,Midnight Rambler,In Another Land,The Lantern,Tell Me (You`re Coming Back),Saint Of Me,Rough Justice,Anybody Seen My Baby,Rain Fall Down,Heart Of Stone,What A Shame,Doom And Gloom,Rock And A Hard Place,Living In A Ghost Town,Mixed Emotions,I`m Free and As Tears Go By
Solid list. I would have included 'Rocks Off' and maybe 'Shattered.' But the Stones have so many good songs it's criminal. My older brother is big Stones fan so I've been hearing them since I was a kid. And what I like is how my favourite songs have changed over the years--a mark of a versatile band. And yes at this point in my life 'Gimme Shelter' wins.
I have no problem with the list, but I would have included “Get Off My Cloud” and “She’s A Rainbow” for sure. I also really like “Rip This Joint”, “Happy”, and “Hang Fire”.
Keith Richard’s said the only song that no one else could have ever written except for him and Mick was Midnight Rambler. How that is not in the top 10, let alone top 20 is mind blowing.
The cake on the cover of Let It Bleed was baked by a young Delia Smith, UK television cook, with the same status in the UK as Martha Stewart has in the US, but no tax evasion and lifestyle ideas, just good basic cooking advice and being known as a celebrity football fan.
I love so many stones songs, amongst my favourites but as for the best I can never go past gimme shelter, a foreboding and dark masterpiece but sticky fingers is their best album.
I quite enjoyed this video! I would hardly disagree with your rankings. However, I do think "19th Nervous Breakdown", "Get Off Of My Cloud", "Sweet Virginia" and "Mixed Emotions" are Stones classics that deserve honorable mentions.😊
My personal list: 1. Tumbling Dice 2. What To Do 3. Complicated 4. Who's Been Sleeping Here? 5. Sway 6. Satisfaction 7. Under My Thumb 8. Short and Curlies 9. It's Alright (Live) 10. Miss You 11. I really like this list!! The Stones have been my favorite band for most of my life. Here are 20 more I really like they could have included: Midnight Rambler, Moonlight Mile, 19th Nervous Breakdown, Rocks Off, Get Off of My Cloud, Shattered, Loving Cup, Before They Make Me Run, It's Only Rock n Roll (But I Like It), Jigsaw Puzzle, Live with Me, As Tears Go By, Sway, Undercover of the Night, Doom and Gloom, She's So Cold, The Last Time, Under My Thumb, All Down the Line, Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow
What a great video! I would put “Out of Time” as number one and the young Bee Gees did a great cover of it too in 1966. Then “She’s like a Rainbow” at number 2. “Waiting on a Friend” at 3
Monkey Man off of Let It Bleed, Out of Time off of Aftermath, Star Star off of Goats Head Soup, Undercover of the Night, and Too Much Blood from Undercover of the Night
My deep cut picks would be “2000 Light Years From Home” & “Dandelion”. Missed cuts would be “Under My Thumb”. For me # 1 is “Paint it Black”. I’m not a big Rolling Stones fan, but these are a few I do like. My other favorites that made your list would be “Angie”, “Wild Horses” & “Satisfaction”.
My Top 20 (in release order): Get Off of My Cloud, 19th Nervous Breakdown, Let's Spend the Night Together; Miss Amanda Jones, Stray Cat Blues, Honky Tonk Women, Live With Me, Brown Sugar, Rocks Off, Rip This Joint, Happy, All Down the Line, Silver Train, Star Star, If You Can't Rock Me, Respectable, Lies, Neighbors, Hold on to Your Hat, Rough Justice.
I've been wanting to choose my favorite Stones song and I just can't do it. Paint It Black? Satisfaction? Gimme Shelter? They're all distinctive and significant in their own way. Perhaps by the time I'm 80 I'll come up with the answer.
This put a huge smile on my face. Rest In Peace Brian Jones (27 club) and Charlie Watts. Paint it black end credits for The Devil’s Advocate and Full Metal Jacket (I think) and part of endless other movies. Thanks for Gimme Shelter. Where are Dead Flowers and Shattered and Under my Thumb and the ICONiC Its Only Rock And Roll (but i like it) Not to be greedy but there could easily be ‘10 more’🙏🏼🔥❤️
This may be an unpopular opinion, but for me the best Stones albums are the UK versions of "Aftermath" and "Between the Buttons". I would even say that Aftermath UK is better than Revolver from that year.

Can't You Hear Me Knocking 1. Midnight Rambler (Hot Rocks 64-71)
The Rolling Stones definitely is the greatest rock band in the world. They beat the Beatles, The Beach Boys, CCR, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Guns N’ Roses and remain a top rock band for 60 years. Who else can have so many timeless hit songs and still perform like time has not passed?
I believe this to be a bold list because it confuses the Rolling Stones' radio hits with what is their actual best, and makes them dangerous. Obviously no one person would have the same list. Here is what I would take off this list: Start me up (Brown Sugar re-write), Let's Spend the Night Together (really???), Angie (not vocally convincing), Miss You (see replacement from Emotional Rescue below), Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Heartbreaker. Street Fighting Man should be higher on the list. Here is what replaces the five I took off: Monkey Man, Midnight Rambler, Let it Bleed, Bitch, Dance Pt. 2 (instead of Miss You). Live With Me, Love in Vain, and Stray Cat Blues are right up there too. And a few honorable mentions: Not Fade Away, Carol (both re-makes), You Better Move On, The Under assistant West Coast Promotion Man. B-side gold: Jump on top of Me, and Everything's Turning to Gold (other side of the single Shattered), which has the muddiest riff of the mid-to-late '70's era.
Gimme Shelter is definitely they’re greatest song. It has been featured so prolifically in pop culture ⬇️ Movies Adventures In Babysitting-1987 Goodfellas-1990 Air America-1990 Casino-1995 The Departed-2006 Flight-2012 The Gambler-2014 Ford v Ferrari-2019 And TV shows like The Simpsons, nip/tuck, dexter, That’s 70’s Show, Person Of Interest & several other ministries & documentaries as well as Call Of Duty Black OPS-2010.
I still think Dead Flowers is their most underrated song. Under My Thumb, No Expectations, Moonlight Mile, Torn and Frayed, and Play With Fire are other ones as well
I love to hear, Plundered My Soul,Salt Of The Earth, Midnight Rambler, All Out Of Tears,Fool To Cry,Angie,Wild Horses,One Hit To The Body,Emotional Rescue, Beast Of Burden.
Just started watching, as an avid fan of TRS, my favorite 5 songs would be, Ruby Tuesday, Paint it Black, Mothers Little Helper, Waiting on a Friend, She’s a Rainbow. Honorable Mentions, Get Off of my Cloud, Wild Horses, Let’s Spend the Night Together. 💯

Great list and goes wirh my theory that their best music is from the 60s and 70s start me up in 81 is the one exception
Start Me Up is their last truly great song
"Anybody Seen My Baby?" from 1997.
Gimme Shelter and Sympathy for the Devil were the songs that put the Stones in a higher ground than the Beatles... period.
🎸Great selection, all my favorite Stones songs are here! 🎵

2000 Light Years From Home is such a GREAT song!
Start Me Up at 10? She's Like a Rainbow completely unmentioned? Bold list
She’s so cold was a great underrated song I like how in the Simpsons when homer goes to rock camp and ends up singing along with mick jagger
I'd include "Let It Loose", but, of course, the Stones have dozens of great songs...
Dead Flowers and She's A Rainbow should have been on the list IMO.
Glad to see Shine A Light here. Truly underrated that track.
Truly underrated and in my Top 3, Gimme Shelter number "1" fer sure, jűs sāyīn !😎✌️😎!

The only problem making such a list is there’s no mathematical equation to give 100 songs a top 20 status.
Brown sugar is only politically incorrect because people don’t get the irony and are too simple today to waste time explaining it.
