Those long fingernails give him away. He is clearly a vampire who has been practicing for 500 years.
that explains it
Lol I always thought what if these guys got in a fight? If they tried to punch they would impale their palms. Then it dawned on me. Wolverine. Just saying. Don't fuck with a guitarist cus if the talons don't castrate the guitar will decapitate.
@@cathaloconnor6577 I'll go with Freddy Kruger. Wolverine only got 3 blades.🤣
Talent + skill + determination +500 years of unending practice = best performance :)
I wouldn't have caught that... thank you.
My wife has just told me to play like this guy or she's gonna leave me ..... I'm gonna miss her
🤣
Leave you for him for sure!
That’s a bit superficial of her bruv
Hehehehe, funny reply :-)
lol
He’s just calmly doing what doesn’t seem humanly possible.
I only just came across this guy a few days ago. I haven't had a full nights sleep since. I've been spending hours of my free time watching, and re-watching this man play. I can't get enough of this.
I just discovered him earlier tonight. It’s almost 4 o’clock in the morning and I’m still laying here watching him. Phenomenal
@@riceflatpicking4954@ptick16 ha ha ha.... I went through a tough period when I first met Kent too.
A guy?! I don't even think he's a teenager yet, probably a child yet very gifted and focused.
This song has been covered by many virtuoso level players but NONE of them come close to Kent. He plays so cleanly and so flawlessly it actually sounds like TWO master level guitarists playing in total sync
I dont even have enough guitar skills to listen properly 🙂
😅
R A I think if I practiced as long as him I might be qualified to carry his guitar case. I’m going to start working on that now.
Me: "How is he going to deal with the key change?"
Kent: stealth capo move, of course.
*Mind Blown*
JoeSena unbelievable 2:48
I dident see it at first
But then I rewinded
And I was like mind blown
DOOOD
@@delilahtripp7416 I didn't either and even when I watched it I had to take it in lol
My goodness, the modulation at 2:48. Kent is playing all the parts of the song and still manages to seamlessly slide the capo without missing a beat.
HOLY. I did NOT see that. And - now that I see it - I still can't beleive it.
He’s a cyborg 😆🤯
exactly. HOOOWWWW? OMG.
It was so subtle and smooth. Literally like a well-oiled machine.
2:47 that sneaky capo slide is just insane dude
Seriously!!
Should be illegal
This arrangement is pure perfection and it only has 613K views while boring ass youtube creators get 2M views for dropping bowling balls off towers. This is how I know society has its priorities wrong.
To date this video is still criminally under viewed
All these videos are soon underrated .this guy is top tier of guitar players in world .timing ,arrangements, just so fkn clean every single video
Thank you guys, I try to explain this to everyone around me like an old crazy man :D
Only about halfway there
you need to watch Joey B Toonz
this dude moved the capo on the key change. i give up.
This might be the most impressive thing I've ever seen
And heard
That’s what I thought too, until I saw the next one!
Dude that mf sneak attack capo slide for the key change was ruthless
He does a number of capo slides in his Just The Two Of Us
The sonics he creates omfgoodness, inspiring 👏
I'm hoping to hear him live one day.
I replayed this video many times, I decided to upgrad my stereo and headphone, and sell my guitars.
Some people practice their whole lives and don’t get a quarter as good as this
Talents, skills and lots of practice make up a great artist.
😳 I’ve been playing longer than this kid has been alive... But not like that!
Im already dancing to this groove haha
Like if ur dancing and moooving too 😂
I love this arrangement! And look at 2:47, that quick capo slide is not even noticeable. This kid is insanel! 💯
So smooth ... great catch, great comment!!
nice one.. i didn't notice that Cool
Nycky Patiag if it wasn’t for your comment I wouldn’t have noticed
At the age of 16 he’s insane genius.. Keep it up Kent!!
Yeah, I had look back at it the second time.
I’ve watched this 10 times, and can’t believe all of that is coming out of one live guitar. The economy of motion of both the picking hand and fretting hand is incredible, and the tones he gets out of an acoustic guitar are nothing short of amazing.
This dude is amazing. To imitate the horns in the beginning still shakes my foundation. I can't wrap my brains around how he was able to do that and imitate all of Jackson lead versus. Wow
I'm jealous of his guitar playing, my wife is jealous of those fierce nails
😆
OK... Let me calm myself down... Saying just "great" or "awesome" to this cover is a DISGRACE and DISRESPECT to this kid! Kent, you are OTHERWORLDLY, U REAL, ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL, AND MAYBE THE BEST FINGERSTYLE GUITARIST IN RUclips, AND PROBABLY IN THE WORLD! Why did I say this? It's because NOT Only did you capture the MELODY and the RHYTHM of the song, but you also incorporated THE DRUM PARTS, THE BASS PARTS, AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT YOU COULD POSSIBLY DO with that gifted hands of yours! YOU ARE SIMPLY A DIAMOND CUT ABOVE THE REST! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC JOB!
Luca Stricagnoli, Sungha Jung, Mike Dawes, Tommy Emmanuel and many others my dude... They've all got different styles, I bet all of the aforementioned can play anything Kent is playing. But yeah, this was a great arrangement.
Just watch this:

..
his name is Kent, not Ken...
please stop shouting. please. thanks
I can argue with your comment joelm the difference between this guys and the ones you put the link to watch it’s that this young man he’s a natural just check the way he plays he doesn’t struggle to play and do the notes and the way he strum the guitar is relaxed and soft so in other words your trying to compare Bruce lee and chuck Norris it’s way off but keep participating this kid is a natural on the guitar
Okey 2nd and 3rd player, please show yourselves.
He is playing the rythem on a loop
MrGregorykc he ain’t looping shit bro, he’s the real deal man.
@@MrGregorykc He's not, you can see his fingers making every sound, watch it in slo mo. He's just that good, it's crazy.
Ain't that the truth! Lol
no person on the world that can make melody bass rhythm everyrhing in one take like he does..it is unbelivable what he is doing and yet he is doing it..he is by far biggest freak i have seen and heard..his style so weird but so good. he is a true genius.
Even Michael Jackson will be glorified with this rendition...
He'd be playing for Michael Jackson on and off stage trust me. Michael would champion his career.
Allen C. I bet he will... i hope he gonna next cover P.Y.T of MJ.. one of my favorite..
Holy Guacamole Batman....! This little dude changed the capo with one finger in the middle of a song he was totally annihilating it at 2:47. He made this song his biatch.... daang.... you sure your 1st name is not "Clark Kent" and you are secretly a Kryptonian in disguise...?
Doesn’t this belong in Guinness Book World Records or something? Omg
Some of those harmonics he hits are just insanely clean.
I like how he grow his nails out so he could use them as finger picks.
@@dariuswhite2543 you see this a lot with classical guitar players. Long, well-shaped nails on the right hand, and very short nails on the left. That's how you spot a skilled classical guitarist in the wild ;)
Compressor
I'm sure he can play something very similar to this, but his fingers don't match the sounds we're hearing. This is layered and pre-recorded.
Hans Ollo It is most likely prerecorded yes, and I don’t know what you mean by layered, it is a stereo recording. However, he records using a audio interface directly from the guitar to the pc. He can play this song raw and incredibly clean with an external mic, and he has played it live which sounded exactly the same as the recording. Do not insinuate that he can’t play this live.
I think I’ve watched this video a hundred times. Never gets old. Love how he literally feels the music. Very talented.

I love when someone post lyrics. Boss.
The 1st time I saw this, I was litterally laughing out loud because I was absolutely stunned by all those skills. I play and watch guitars for 20 years now and I've never seen this before, not even close. Glad to see people can still appreciate this kind of musicians. Bless you all
Like him sliding the capo... yep 😮
I laughed. I cried. More!!
Wow! This was amazing. He captured absolutely every essence of this song. I’ve never seen anything like this before. This kid is clearly on a far higher level than Sunga Jung.
Job well done, Kent!
I hate doing the comparison thing. Sure, I could listen to Kent's playing all day and be happy, but it is just as valid to enjoy all the good (great) talents out there. I played trumpet until after my freshman year in college and that foundation gave me appreciation for real talent on any instrument, even singing talent. (Can't say the same about rap, but that's a different conversation, and it's *not* about race.)
I been playing guitar for about 20 years but this young man is on another level, amazing, love it well done dude
Dude i know. 32 years myself, while I could be classical pieces from Bach and other composers I specialized in rock guitar and picking mainly alternate picking and can play all of the 70s 80s 90s AC DC Van Halen scorpions and more and people have accused me up sounding like Al Di Meola which in my mind is not an insult. But with this guy's doing for God's sake it's so beautiful and complete it's far beyond my current level
I cant quite believe what I'm hearing. What touch this player has, you cant teach this.
Fabulous. MJ is smiling from heaven 🙏☺
That is perhaps the most beautiful Michael Jackson instrumental cover of all time! Brilliant, genius!
Kent does not play the guitar, he just picks it up and sings through it, he and the guitar are one.
I have been playing guitar for more years than I would like to admit, but I have never seen anyone capture every nuance and signature lick, in order to keep the integrity of the song, as this young man has !!!
He started when he was 3... Lol... I wish I would had started something like this at a very young age when the brain is very"plastic": aka adaptable
So many techniques to master to play what this guy is playing, its mind blowing.
Lol! Been playing a long time too... This kid's impressive.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant !!
I’ve been playing longer than this kids been alive every day, and I couldn’t even lick his ass, no where near it!
no one's gonna talk how he move the capo while playing?
Did u look thru the comments? lol
Glider capo
oh...um...I had to go back and watch.....MY GOD! HOWWW?!?!
Two things needed to play this song like the original recording by Michael Jackson. "Touch" and "Rhythm." This young man has both and in a big way. Incredible how well he plays this tune. He adds all the little nuances and he does it flawlessly. Wow. Keep your eye on this young guitarist.
KENT....KENT....KENT...
My man, you've done it again. Another amazing guitar rendition of a classic.
You are the most soulful Asian brother, and I love watching and listening to you play!
Until next time... Keep up the great work.
I love the way he just bobs his head so casually enjoying his playing like it was the easiest song to play on the guitar
I love that you're just grooving to your arrangement!
Ikr!!
Breaking News: Kent Nishimora found to be a Japanese Robot confirming that no human could really play like this.
I don't think any robot could groove like that.
Ever heard of sungha jung?
Damn they play almost the same
I've seen and heard a few fantastic youngsters playing guitar on RUclips but this guy is something else his arrangement and style is well there are no words
Him and a cup of coffee are going to make some lady very happy
Did he just at move the capo mid strum?!?!!? Sksjshskjl--I just, wow!
Yep. Never seen that before ...
I had to go back to see that WOW!!!
I love it when Kent gets in the groove and starts enjoying his music. Makes the song even more enjoyable. Don't ever change kid! You are truly an event on its own, a pleasure to watch and listen to.
2:46 quite possibly the smoothest cappo move in history
You know whats going down when he's rocking that glider capo
The capo shift seals the crazy abilities of this guy. Awesome!
Incredible playing but it’s called a Glider Capo. ruclips.net/video/h2GFf6mCsz4/видео.html
If you blink, you'll miss it
As seen at 2:47. Such a meticulous arrangement, incredible
Not to mention he had muted other strings simultaneously to ensure there was no interruption. Mind blowing when you think of it. 1 hand. Tasked with 3 different actions. Capo slide, note sustaining and string muting.
@@all4zion you clocked the subtle bits. The muting. It is a meticulous move. Total skills.
This was the end boss. You've finished the game. Credits roll. What's next my man? Wind surfing perhaps?
Lol 😂
other instruments would be good
I'm incredulous at the seemingly unending reservoir of talent that the internet exposes. The countries, cultures and racial diversity of peoples that the modern 6 string guitar appeals to is just amazing. RUclips has made the world a much smaller place and shows that we all have so much in common when it comes to what appeals to our hearts. This kid plays at a level most people can only dream of, yet the number of years he's been playing is probably in the single digits. Amazing! Kudos young man! I've been playing for the better part of 40 years and am a pretty good player. But I can't keep pace with any of the younger players this world is producing these days. Both Male and female, from ages 6 to 18, they are taking the instrument to unprecedented levels. Keeping it real, the guitar gods of the past, while still gods, can't come close to the technical proficiency I'm seeing in many of the younger generation players these days.
well said 👍
i think this young generation has the advantage of the internet as their main study resource...
Don Caesar internet that's right, the level of teachers learning them but not only. Back in the days, most of the guitar heroes we know may get their 1st guitar between 8/9 to 13/15 years old. Adding the inexistence of internet, they had buy boring theory books and learn but not with a context : at this time, this would be seen as a distraction, not a serious thing to make a carreer instead of a "real" job. It's easier now for any parent to give a guitar to their toddler aged 3. This is the best learning. Imagine a kid learning from 5 to 12 and another kid starting playing at 12. The first one will have 7 years of advance, learning in years when brain is a sponge and when he doesn't understand what a carreer is, money, fame, etc just enjoy as a hobbie like skateboard. A lot of parameters made the new generation becoming technical killers. To me the 2 main reasons are internet and early age learning. You find this in many activities that involve moves and reflexes
@@aniki937 yes...i always think the same...if they can avoid videogames they can become technical killers
Yep, very well said. One of the great things about the internet is the way it flattens the playing field, to an extent. There have always been super talented folks in all corners of the world, but in the past, they had to be physically attractive and marketable for anyone to know who they were. Now, anyone can have a RUclips account and reach an audience of millions, if the talent is there. No more gatekeepers, just people living their passions and sharing them with others. It's wonderful 💚
Pure Genius. The best rendition of this song i've ever heard by far. An unequalled talent. Very well done.
I cannot get over just how many little things he does at once to create this rich, complex sound that’s so true to the song. My eyes literally can’t follow everything he’s doing. And he never lets go of the groove. Utterly remarkable.

Dude... hands down Fantastic!! You make the guitar sing my friend!!✌
every time i watch one of his videos my guitar looks at me and says "why dont you touch me like that? >:(" he plays so perfectly it hits my soul every time
I like the way his head moves.
holy shit! Crazy guitar playing my friend! But that capo slide at 2:47 is just ridiculous ...
Lesson 1/1000000 of the day: moving the capo... done. Stay tuned guys we will make it
Wait.. what??? you moved the capo with your left thumb.. Fantastic for the key change. Well done and thanks for making this old guitar player happy :)
I've heard a lot of guitarists that attempt this style but usually fall short in a few areas: 1. they try to do so much percussive sounds that it detracts from the actual piece being played and 2. they lack good feel and a solid pocket. Kent, you have just the right about of percussiveness, harmonic creativity, technical variety and groove, that really makes this all come together. Well done and looking forward to hearing more of your arrangements.
Outstanding
The groove is key, he feels it.
This is the ultimate motivation to give my guitar away.
I’ve never heard a finger style arrangement / player nail all the nuances of chosen songs with such detail. It’s really insane. Also, your sense of timing is unparalleled.
'Play it like Kent' gonna be the most-used phrase for the next-gen guitar classes.
