- Today I get to unbox the anger bench grinder from screwfix and give it a test.
All in all it does a great job, it doesn't have as much power as more expensive ones, but for sharpening mower lades, and diy workshop projects it's great!
The base is a bit cheap, as I used screws to fasten it to my worktop, and unfortunately one of the corners did crack. I did expect this to be made from metal on the base, but it is only plastic.
The grinder its self lives up to expectations though, doing a great job on metal!
does it vibrate much?
ForzaRider very little vibration, you bolt it down to the bench, and it has soft rubber feet below, which does a good job of not letting the vibration reach the bench.
what size bolts do you use to hold it down? or do you screw it down?
ForzaRider I used screws, none are included unfortunately. Think about 5mm width would be biggest.
Hey man, Nice review, Quick question! Can you remove the metal casing around the disc's?
I'm asking because I was thinking of converting this into a belt sander, but those discs would have to be exposed to do this.
I have a project with a looming deadline so I thought this might be a cheap solution for what I need
lewiss nicholls I’ll have a look for you tomorrow. Pretty sure you can though, as that’s the only way you could replace the grinding discs
Yeah that makes sense. I have never owned one of these before, thanks!
lewiss nicholls that’s okay, this is my first one. Want to do the same to be honest. Haven’t gotten around to looking if it’s possible though. Probably used this once since buying it.
I'm planning on attaching this to a bench, mounting a wheel of some sort above one of the grinders that I can sling a sandpaper belt around, it'll be pretty janky but should do the trick for what I need!
