The talent to improv a dance n do it without knowing the song or a routine blows my mind. Talk about being put on the spot? Ur dancing is phenomenal n makes me smile Everytime sometimes even emotional cus how beautiful it actually it is too watch u dance so easy n effortlessly is just stunning. Congrats to u both.
I had mixed feelings when i saw "she's only 16", but i could tell how intentional you were about where you placed your hands and how close you got to her without making it look awkward at all. Youre both really talented!
Keerigan, is there any special signal you give that says "we are going to spin you now" or "here comes a dip"? How do they know you're about to lead them into that?
They can feel it in the hand hold. We are constantly in a state of tension or compression. I use my hips/torso to move the connection in a way that suggests to the follow’s hips/torso to prep for a turn. At our level, we realistically just pull our follows off-axis to create a dip. When you’re learning it or social dancing, you “ask” by finding connection (tension) and lifting slightly up before lowering/rotating. They can choose to support their own weight or give you their weight to hold. Hope this helped! :)
@@keeriganruddWCS That is the best explanation I have read or seen regarding indicating a dip and how to it varies at levels and social dancing. I have heard from many about indicating a dip, drop etc, the level difference is the unique part. I believe many seeing All-Stars, and or frequent partners pulling off axis with no indication causes many to not indicate and that is where injuries occur. This ought to emphasized by everyone, everytime, in a social situation you indicate(ask), before and leave an escape route for your partner.
Wow! I'm always impressed with your moves but for her to only be 16!?!?! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo, little lady! Please don't give this up because you've already come so far ❤
It always amazes me, how well you and your Dance Partner seem as thoug you have been dancing together for ages. I am also impressed that you know how long your Dance Partner can spin, and if she can lower herself without touching the floor. I always love these 'Shorts'... They are always uplifting. 🌹
Amazing. ❤ Weiter so 🥰

Keerigan I recently started watching your videos and I must say you are absolutely amazing!! I look forward to your new videos and good luck at all your competitions.😊
Lily is amazing! This dance was great. I'm curious though. How do you and your partner pick each other for strictly swing? Did you and Lily know each other for a while prior to this competition?
Thanks so much! Yes she’s fantastic! I met Lily a couple years ago and would run into her at the occasional event. When I saw she was going to be at this particular event I reached out to ask if she wanted to do strictly. Generally we ask people we know/are already comfortable dancing with!
Just wanted to say thank you. If we can enjoy these recordings (from this channel or similar ones), it's thanks to people like you who hold the camera. 😊❤
I think that's in part because of the last couple of decades of partnerless partner dancing. We barely touch and each is mostly doing his or her own thing. We just don't have the experience or muscle memory of real responsible leading for men and active cognitive following for women. To follow you aren't doing your own thing. You are colaborating with your partner taking cues from him - than adding your own personality to the collaboration.
I think you commented on the wrong video. That happens when you don't pause the short and it jumps to the next one before you finish writing your comment.
@@kalvincarldI have it happen if I jump to a short mid-long form and then back to the long-form video. Comment meant for the long-form will land on the short instead.
Where are you located? I have a daughter that took dance from the 8th grade through senior year and really misses dancing and I would love to find something like this locally
Well, at the beginner's level, everyone learns to do some basic moves and the "improv" just means that the leader chooses one of those moves for the couple to do. From there, both skills improve hand in hand.
I love how you took her age into consideration, with your moves, also You looked a tad, cautious at times lol Fabulous as always!! much loves Jacq X
Yes that is very true
Exactly my thoughts
I noticed that.
This day you have to be. One wrong move and someone will scream the r word and say she was assaulted. Ridiculous.
@@KokolamarYou had to go there.
You were really tasteful and respectful with the direction you took this.
Love that you treat her so respectfully.
Lily is awesome! Great composure for a youngster 😊
Her dad must have fostered a love of this dance type. Bet they have some great videos of them dancing together/her learning from him over the years.
What about mom? She was Tha dance partner who gave birth to Lilly. Mom was probably dancing with Lilly in the womb.

Oh I see it! What a great explanation. I can see on the final dip of this clip you actually pulled her off axis and she dropped!
Her energy and expressions! ❤

Definitely more distance because of her age. Smart !😃👏🏼👏🏼
when i read 16 i tought: better look where you put your hands or you might have to put them in handcuffs
Thibault and Jordan have many styles steps

Do you know how to dance before you start doing the improv stuff, or do they come at the same time?
Well, at the beginner's level, everyone learns to do some basic moves and the "improv" just means that the leader chooses one of those moves for the couple to do. From there, both skills improve hand in hand.

16? 😮
Kerrigan gets too little credit for his great dancing. 🎊 ♥️🕺
