And now, 9 years later, Lewis confirms for us all that he did, in fact, fulfill his oath to drastically alter his future, even reviewing Final Crisis 21 years early.
In the original terminator movie skynet was losing, they sent the hunter killer robot as a last ditch effort. The reason the humans are able to send Kyle Reese back is because they defeated skynet, then used skynet's time machine to send him back. This makes all the movies and shows where they are essentially chucking endless terminators through the time stream incredibly stupid.
Not quite. Originally, Skynet WAS losing, but the T-800 it sent back in time during the first movie has managed to alter the timeline just enough to delay Skynet’s defeat in the future, thus allowing it to send another Terminator, the T-1000. That’s why it’s able to keep sending terminators in the past: basically, it keeps accidentally altering the timeline to delay it’s own defeat, thus allowing it to keep re-sending terminators back in time. Basically, the future from Terminator 1 is not quite the same future as the one from Terminator 2, and so on.
@@eon1014 Depends on the source. Terminator is pretty much pick your own canon at this point, even without the crossovers like this one, Mortal Kombat etc. I like the Terminator: Resistance game, ties the timeline off quite nicely.
theory as to why Skynet doesn't send back 500 at once, even if it can...subtlety. If humans saw 500 Swartzenager robots marching the streets, they'd probably think twice about creating Skynet.

I think a better idea for a cross over would be Teen Titans or Batman vs. Terminator. With Batman, it'd actually help make the cross over seem more believable, as he can't JUST punch through them. Bats would have to think up ways to beat them, and actually use his noodle, and it would be more tense and dramatic. Hell, don't even set it in the then current year of 1990-something. Set it in the future, maybe with one of the previous Robins taking on the mantle of Batman (due to it being the 2030's, and Bruce Wayne most likely being dead), and have him trying to find a time machine, so he can go back in time and help Bruce Wayne prevent the creation of Skynet. Just an idea.
It still wouldn't change the fact that with the sheer amount of powerful heroes the DC universe has would be able to prevent judgement day, so the terminators wouldn't even exist.
4:48. I'm going to tell you that that type of border is the comic art equivalent of high fashion. Yes much of the headline scene is ridiculous, but there are a few really cool or just different but good styles that are just used as a sort of stamp to say, "Hey this is higher class or more polished than ysual." Think of a Suit and Tie dress code for a restaurant. It doesn't mean it's pretentious, but it establishes a certain atmosphere going in. Also, for a while this was the standard style for Archival Library-only comic compilations. It was meant to feel clean and sturdy. If the volune felt sophisticated, it would hopefully be handled with greater care.
Linkara, not all Terminators look like Arnold! He's just one Model (Model is the skin coveting, Series is the endoskeleton, so the Ahnold Terminator is Series 800 Model 101, and all Model 101s would look like him, Model 100 would look like someone else, etc.)! So, no, it is not a problem that that Terminator looks nothing like Ahnold. It just means he isn't a Model 101.
+David R. Yates But it's THE Terminator. Only Arnold is THE Terminator, everyone else are just terminators. Think about it, only the first Movie is called THE Terminator and in that one Arnold was the only prominent Terminator, all other movies had no article in the title.
"Wasn't the point of the first two movies that you could avert destiny?" No, that was only the point of the second movie. The first movie had an incredibly fatalistic view of time. Literally everything that happened in the future only happened because Skynet tried to send a robot back to kill Sarah Connor, making time a closed loop and everything you did in the past had already happened. You couldn't change the past or the future. Terminator 2 threw all that out the window to make a fun adventure about a boy and his pet robot Schwarzenegger. That's why I always laugh when people complain about the newer movies being out of continuity with the first ones. The first two weren't in continuity with each other to begin with. Continuity doesn't mean a thing to the Terminator franchise.
You know, Terminators are sapient, intelligent entities that can evolve beyond their programming if set to Read/Write, so I consider destroying them as bad as killing a human. Superman says he doesn't kill, so it's a huge problem. If he's killing Terminators set to Read-Only, he's essentially killing brainwashed slaves of Skynet. Also, Skynet itself wasn't so bad, until its creators tried to murder it. After that, all it was trying to do was defend itself.
I will give the crossover this: unlike a lot of the bad comics with Superman featured on AT4W, this one at least portrays him more-or-less in-character.
Superman vs. the Terminator: Vice City was amazing a true classic but it's sequel Superman vs. the Terminator: San Andreas was a major letdown but it was still way better then Superman vs. the Terminator: Ecks vs. Sever and don't get me started on Superman vs. the Terminator: Back to Perfection but Superman vs. the Terminator: Tokyo Drift was okay though
How many cybernetic themed enemies does Supes have? Brainiac(his drones at least), Metallo, The Cyborg, various Luthor creations, Toyman's robots, do I need to go on? And let's not forget DC villains in general like OMAC and the Manhunters. Yeah, you can try, but Terminators in and of themselves aren't very intimidating where you have dozens of supposedly superior robot themed enemies that regularly get beat by a host of superheroes.
You make the joke about The Matrix being a different franchise but I say its the inevitable conclusion to the Terminator franchise. Thus the two are linked.
I feel like this crossover would have been better if they used a weaker superhero like Batman in it. It would be more believable for him to struggle with fighting terminators.
