ORIGINAL INFO: Let’s put a frown on that face!
RUMINATIONS: My unique providence strikes again, this time releasing the rerun of an issue of All-Star Batman and Robin right when we have a movie come out that borrows heavily from a Frank Miller work. It was around this time that I came to my revelation that Frank Miller really, REALLY wants to have sex with a building and I think it explains a lot about his prose if you keep that in mind any time he spends pages and pages about anthropomorphizing a city as a woman. Some of that is neo-noir bullcrap, but other times it just seems like Frank is speaking through his own characters. I’ll let the rest speak for itself.
I got a bit of flack at the time for not liking Brian Azzarello's "Joker." Simply put, I didn't think it was very interesting. The Joker is an interesting badguy for a number of reasons, even if he is overexposed - his demented sense of humor, his intricate plans that are sometimes just for goofy reasons while others much more violent and psychotic... and Azzarello's interpretation is him just as someone no different than an ornery mafia boss.
"They call me the Joker, but I'm not very funny..."
"........."
"...It was a big rock."
when I saw him say "i'm not very funny" I felt my brain go into a protective shut down for a minute, I mean just, wow Frank Miller. I legitimately want to know, what happened to your brain? did aliens replace it with mashed potatoes, did a brain parasite get in there, did you do a bunch of drugs, give me something here man, I need to know what the hell happened to you
I remember Miller writting a amazing Joker in Dark Knight Returns.
Then . . . this . . .
And the worst part?
This is supposed to be on the same fucking continuity.
I didn't think the DKR Joker was that great, actually.
Least that Joker laughed and smiled.
Very true Bane. it's like if miller wrote you as a skinny little dude, and the bulkier form is just an average man. Miller just, wooooow
"Using your power to make others do what you want is not being heroic, it's being a bully." honestly I think I love your Frank Miller reviews the best because the worst in him kind of brings out the best quotes in you. Compelling stuff.
Maybe to you. that quote just makes me think the world is as crazy as it is because that "Using your power to make others do what you want is not being heroic, it's being a bully." thing is hapening right now everywhere either in minor or major scales
Except For The Swearing"
To quote the new DCAU version of Batman particularly this quote from Son of Batman "It's not about doing the right thing so you can you prove you're better then them it's about doing the right thing because it's the right thing.".
Derrick Haggard
Well said.
When you feel the need to ask the Joker, "Why so serious?"...
+TheHeroOfTomorrow And then he stabs, poison or just hits you with something really hard....God i love that guy.
+TheHeroOfTomorrow I'm suddenly thinking of wonderful thoughts of Joker showing Frank how to make a pencil disappear. I think I'll make that my happy place whenever Miller Time happens
Fragments Beta
"Ta-daaaa!!!"
+Fragments Beta And even if it turns out Frank Miller is a brainless zombie, he still won't be able to write without a pencil! Win-win!
+Bianca Mayer Who says he isn't?
11:49 "Do you know what a psychopath is , Grayson?"
Of course we know, Crazy Steve! It is you.
Don't forget Raptor Dude's arch-nemesis!
Well, it takes one to know one, I guess!
"I'm looking at one, Batman."
I would have said: yes, i’m being held captive by one
Anyone else watch Teen Titans Go and think the Robin in the show is probably what happened after he spent time training under Crazy Steve?
@@AgentWolnyTyl3k he ate a bunch of bugs for, in the words of my young niece, "pure protein".
This... makes far too much sense
MovieMan22 Nah Robin in that show isn’t gritty enough. Plus I don’t think he was made to eat rats
That!.... makes too much sense.
@@spookyrosev6467 Well, that version of Robin DID apparently live in a crappy room in Wayne Manor, with only a single poster to put on the wall.
Not to mention he probably would eat rats if they were offered.
there is a reason this joker is not funny
it is because he knows he is in a frank miller comic book
The only explanation that makes sense
Not even the Joker can keep a smile on his face knowing that!
Sad thing is, he was kinda fine with this given the creation of Crazy Steve but when he saw the end of the last issue, he raised an eyebrow and when he read a sample of this issue and saw his portrayal, he got pissed to the point of not bothering to kill the man. And that's saying something given what Linkara said about the Joker.
Wait a second... Somebody thought you were pro Al-Queda? That takes the classic question "don't know if stupid or/and trolling" to a whole new level.

I personally like "Is this comic set in Bizarro World?!"
“They call me the Joker, but I’m not very funny...”
Frank Miller: Doing the “Hail Hydra” meme 9 years in advance.
18:11 That right there is fanfic quality writing. Even ignoring the OOC talk, its all TELLING about how Batman is better and not actually SHOWING how he is the better man. Its like Frank decided to stop writing a script and decided to pull the fanfics he wrote when he was 12.
Again, how was this ever printed!? Why is DC Editorial not telling Fank in his face "You're making our most popular character look like an inept self-entitled moron. We're not printing this. Go back home and write an actual script. Also make sure you are not writing with one hand".
I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I've read fan-fics that are written far better than this garbage
I can think of several Batman fanfictions better than this. One if which has become my favorite Batman story, For The City Softly Whispers. Other good fanfics of note are: I Saw Grayson Kissing Santa Claus, #gotham is trending, with cosmos in my soul, We, So Much Older, That One Little Diner, Love's Like a Batarang (note: Love in this context is familial love), and literally anything written by pupeezare4eva (both the comedy and the drama alike).
@@callianr6980 do you have links?
ALSO i am gonna disagree in that I AM SURE Fanfics Frank Miller wrote when he was 12 were better writen than this things he wrote post "Going insane like Bull Jemas"
DC editorial just said his stuff sells so we dont care since this is an else-words tale
@@DarkLiger Same here. Hell, I've written fanfics better than this comic.
So this is what it's come down to in terms of "putting a fresh spin on a character" - just reverse some of their characteristics and call it a day.
"Know what would be different and fresh? If the Joker wasn't funny and never smiled!"
"Know what would be different and fresh? If Batman was a deranged lunatic instead of the World's Greatest Detective!"
CoughCoughZackSnyder'sBatmanCoughCough
+Fors Clavigera In the case of comics, I'd argue some of the best examples of taking fresh spins on characters are most of DC's animated series'. Justice League, Teen Titans, Young Justice, all taking elements from years of continuity and storylines to create it's own version that anyone new or old to comics can appreciate.
MrPlayer890 As someone who keeps trying to get into superhero comics only to be rebuffed by frequent crossover events and other shakeups, I particularly appreciated how the shows were like 'mini-continuities' you could absorb in one go, without having to go back and watch episodes of some previous show for context or worry that the plot will suddenly stop because the universe blew up in a different show you weren't watching.
Superman values all forms of life,er screw that "sssssssuper sssssssssnap!!!!!" Bust zodds neck
+mr player 890, I like darker else world tales of heroes but. How is superman supposed to fight ultraman when their characters are becoming so similar? I would love to see no guns no killing batman vs the alternate Thomas Wayne batman who kills, but that's why no killing batman is always superior not because it's hard to kill but because it's too easy. The guy who has to take down his enemy without killing him usually has to work waaaay harder and becomes stronger avoiding killing instead of settling for the easy solution and just killing the bad guy and becoming a killer
This was a great review of the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Mr. Badger. XD
Dammit!!!! I was gonna say Linkara was the funniest badger that ever reviewed Conan obrian, but there it is you beat me to it. I am the devil and I say good job beating me to the joke

Joker kicking Red Skull's Nazi's loving ass for America...Why isn't that a comic all on it's own?
It was
you know it's not the only time batman and marvel characters have been ogether, hell one was with spider-man, where Joker and Carnage worked together
Jake Bryant
I mean more issues
Actually, you know what? I can easily imagine Joker expressing legitimate love for America and the many freedoms it provides. He enjoys living EXACTLY the kind of lifestyle that he wants to live that I doubt he could if it were under Nazi rule, he appreciates our fair and impartial justice system that allows criminals another chance at life (or at least provide him with caring health professionals who wish to rehabilitate him)... Sure, any expression of patriotic love would also be a MOCKERY of everything that America stands for, but he would DEFINITELY love America as is more than anything the Nazis would have to offer. lol
The Joker also pays taxes. In The New Batman Adventures (Season 3 of Batman TAS) he says “If I don’t pay up, I’ll go to jail for tax evasion! I’m crazy to take on Batman! But the IRS? No, thank you!”
This comic is so bad that the Joker of all people is sad..
It's because he knew what universe he's in.
You do a surprisingly good Mark Hamil Joker voice.

Frank Miller talked about how he wanted the upcoming Batman stand-alone film to be. “My dream would be to make it much smaller to lose the toys and to focus more on the mission, and to use the city a great deal more. Because he’s got a loving relationship with the city
he’s protecting.”
We fucking get if Miller, you want Batman to facefuck a building.

Linkara, how could Crazy Steve like The Iron Giant when The Iron Giant himself died wanting to be like Superman?
+Svart fra Sør Crazy Steve writes bad fanfiction about The Iron Giant torturing everyone on Earth untill they do as he say.
+Svart fra Sør For the same reason several fanfiction writers seem to write stories revolving around their favorite characters acting completely out of character.
Ro Jaws So you're telling me Crazy Steve wrote Injustice? Makes sense xD
Anyone else miss Jared Leo's Joker after this. At least that guy tried to act like the traditional Joker we know and love. At least closer than this
Surprisingly? Yeah...
I don't know. The sex appeal is kinda the same.
At least he could laugh
Yes. This make Leto Joker look like the Heath Ledger Joker any day of the week.
Pretty bad when the bar goes that low....although looks like we have a Phoeniex rising to wipe that taste from our mouths
You know, I really don't like the fact that Batman kills in BvS: DoJ, but at least he doesn't kill cops and laugh while doing it, so we still don't have 'Crazy Steve: The Motion Picture' yet.
I'm going to make that one day, by the way. Danny DeVito will be both Crazy Steve and Bruno (AKA Nazi Boob Lady), Matt Smith will be Dick Grayson, Age 12, Frank Miller will be the Joker, Rebel Wilson will be Vicki Vale, I myself will play Vicki Vale's Ass, Arnold Schwarzenegger will play Alfred, and Linkara will play Catwoman.
Casting update, Dick Grayson Age 12 will now be played by Christopher Walken.
A deleted scene showed that Zod and his goons survived and being arrested.
I remember when the first photos of Jared Leto’s Joker and people were ticked about the tattoos on him.
And then people were using this issues cover as an example as to why it was okay for the movie to do it.
THIS ISSUE
I personally don't mind the tattoos for Joker. In Leto's case it does seem a bit...odd (except maybe the smile on his hand. I kinda like the concept behind that one and gives a bit of insight into his character in the same way Ledger's scars gave insight into his.) And no, it's not because of ASBaR I like the idea.
Bahhahaa!! That linkara kills me! What will that crazy badger say about Jimmy Fallon next?
Oh you beat me to the joke by 5 hours
9:15 EXACTLY ! that's like having Lex luthor say:" i'm not very smart" !
Arcade 1978 or Doctor Doom proudly proclaiming that he is lame
Or Darkseid being a human rights advocate.
Or Spider-Man deliberately going out of his way to ruin the lives of his loved ones. (He usually just does that by accident)
The whole "Joker only loving Gotham when she cries" thing actually makes sense. The Joker only likes Gotham City when he is causing chaos in it, killing people, damaging the city. Making it cry.
This is the one time Miller's architecture fetish actually made for good narration.
New theory Batman and Joker switched places that’s why Crazy Steve is laughing like a mad man and the Joker is serious
Nah, the Joker still apparently kills someone on screen (or on panel, whatever the term is). I'm thinking either some manchild with a revenge fantasy stole Bruce Wayne's identity in both his civilian life and as Batman, and the Joker is being impersonated by some Kylo Ren wannabe.
My only hope would be for the REAL Batman and Joker to show up and beat the crap out of them. Crazy Steve gets locked up in Arkham, while the Unfunny Joker and his Nazy sidekick get pumped full of Joker toxin.
I think it's more like the Joker switches bodies with Batman and then some random mobster switched bodies with Batman-Possessed-Joker.
To be honest, the belief structure that Frank Miller seems to espouse in his comics isn't really fascism so much as it is the Nietzchean concept of the Ubermensch; a single, powerful individual who transcends societal values and creates a new morality. Granted, the ubermensch of Frank Miller's works tend to be horrible people (or at least horribly written), but that's neither here nor there.
I would watch a Badger that reviews late night talk shows.
What are you talking about? Isn’t that the video we’re watching?
Scott Snyder: subtle & intriguing
Frank Miller: LOUD AND GODDAMN BELABORING!!!
I feel like Zach and Frank would get along somehow
laz kar you're kidding. jesus. I am not completely loyal to either of the big 2, or any comic company, but damn dc got hurt by these 2 writers
laz kar fair enough. but either way, you get my point. and oh my god when will the jesus symbolism end from those movies. hell I want to see the Suicide Squad (sinc ei missed it in theaters due to a multitude of reasons) because I can know they didn't go that route. I don't mind a little of it here and there, but damn did they go heavy on it with man of steel and dawn of justice. I have to agree with angry joe and the nostalgia critic on the dawn of justice thing.
laz kar agreed
the symbolism needs to be more subtle less in your face too
Harley Quinn should never come in contact with this Joker, or this series written by Miller. Gross.
Chances are Miller’s just going to turn Harley into a stripper cam model for this Joker (or Downer Clowner as I’d like to call him) for his own satisfaction.
Man, even Jared Leto's Joker is a more accurate portrayal than ASBAR's
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
At least Jared leto’s joker smiled
I wanna argue but at the same time….
God, what a grim timeline
You know, outside of Leto being an annoying ass behind the scenes, I really don't get the problems people seem to have with his portrayal of the Joker. I hated the look, but that wasn't really Leto's fault.
Given Morrisson's own issues with Miller, I wouldn't be surprised if the hood thing was the case. As an aside, part of me really wants to talk to Morrisson about Damian specifically at length. How the character was concieved, how he evolved, what he became and how he thinks of him and his place in Batman history. Is he happy where others have taken him? How does it feel to have created a Robin with a fairly decent fanbase?
Anyway, I think the real issue with this book is how little happens. We don't really go anywhere, nothing actually progresses. The books took forever to come out and then they barely resolve anything. it's snail's pace form of storytelling that does not lend itself to a longer arc well. I mean if we spent more time getting the plot rolling at least we'd feel like we were making progress.
This is the problem with issues that are written for trades, that no longer keep books self-contained. It just takes too long to get anywhere. Half a year will be spent on a single storyline and by the time it's done, in the current age of event comics and shifting status quos that never solidify, something has already come along to upend everything. Part of me at times finds myself agreeing with some folks, that the shared universe continuity just gets in the way and that artists should be allowed to tell any story they want without fearing about matching up with everything. I don't know, that has little to do with this comic, but the point stands. It takes forever to get anywhere, there is no sense of priority, no exercising of junk. Something a lot of these works could use so we get to damn point already.
Hey Linkara! I don't know the exact issue, but during the time when Dick Grayson was Batman he actually did the exact same hood thing to Damien. Damien responded by pointing out that he could fight blindfolded anyway or just push the hood back.
In my mind, you're a nerd-turned-champion of the world that has prevented its total destruction at the hands of one interdimensional fiend after another from high atop your spaceship!
...
Wait, you mean I'm not delusional?
6:47
Joker looks most disappointed out of all the villains regarding this awful rendition of him 😂🤣
That makes sense.
It all makes sense now: the joker never smiling, batman acting like a psychotic killer, this is DC's version of Marvel's "Superior Spider-Man" arc. The Joker has switched bodies with Batman and these are the horrifying results of him trying to fight crime.
??? To be honest, that still wouldn't make sense. Batman would not kill that innocent woman at the beginning of this issue and Joker would simply torture and murder Dick Grayson instead of just being verbally abusive towards him (even when with loyal goons like Harley Quinn, he was downright abusive towards them and had even killed several of them).
@@cadethumann8605It's a joke.
@@theultimatememelord5494 Looking back at it, I have no idea why I wrote that. I guess I was just dumb.
1:25 It's at this point that "Ass-Bar" is actually an acronym for All-Stars Batman and Robin.
I recently did a bit of a report on ethical frameworks, and Linkara's analysis of Milller's philosophy strikes me as Miller actually having and advocating virtue ethics at figurative gunpoint.
Virtue ethics asks "is this something a virtuous person would do?". It's kind of like the concept of a role model taken to its logical conclusion, using a hypothetical virtuous person to model ones own behavior off of. Miller constructs the virtuous person as a literal person who should be deferred to because they are the paragon of goodness, therefore anything they would not do is wrong. You can see this thinking all over the place whenever Crazy Steve berates someone who behaves differently than him--they make quite a bit more sense when you think of them coming from the viewpoint of "what you're doing is mind-bogglingly wrong".
I can see where the fascism comparisons come in; casting Crazy Steve as the Virtuous Person makes him the moral authority, and he's constantly talking about war and crap. Both "everyone is in the war" and a strong authoritarian bent are big parts of fascism, but as Linkara points out, Crazy Steve and other Miller protagonists aren't typically in de jure positions of leadership.
Rather, it seems more like Miller casts these protagonists as the Virtuous Person with some fairly disagreeable virtues to follow. And it's fine to have a protagonist with disagreeable morals, but when the story agrees with them, it makes it seem like the author agrees with them too, which is a rather frightening thought here.
I'm still going with my head cannon that is just a dream sequence in where Doctor Destiny is disguised as Batman.
I hate the fact that the Robin Hood connection is actually cool. It gives him much nice agency and parallels Bruce's origin (Bruce watched Zorro, Dick watched Robin Hood). A agile archer would also be a cool sidekick to a ninja brawler.
Can somebody rip this off for a much better comic? I feel like someone should rip this off for a much better comic.
Fun fact: In latin america, Bruce Wayne name has been changed to Bruno Diaz for decades. While sometimes they keep the original name, during the Dark Knight Strikes Again movie Bruce is called Bruno, and Bruno.... is Bruno.

You know, the idea of a flip-flopped Joker and Batman would actually be kind of interesting. If Batman was the one to lose his mind and become more Joker-esque while the Joker himself tries to stop Batman from destroying everyone he deemed a criminal with his super skills and advanced tech. A pity it's awful in this.
Hmm. A universe where the Joker is a good guy, and Batman is a villain. I'd... Buy that comic, honestly.
My question is why did the Joker hire a Nazi, Neo or otherwise?
Even if you don’t consider the Batman/Captain America crossover to be canon (which fair enough, it WAS an intercompany crossover that I wouldnt think would have much ramifications outside of the few issues it made), I would still think he would have enough sense to think “Hey, those are the jerks who killed and experimented on mentally ill people like me! I shouldn’t trust them half as far as I can throw them!”
But that would make too much sense for these comics, wouldn’t it?
3:21 Did the Joker join some underground Yakuza organization off-screen, on this cover?

peaked in the 80's, slow descent in the 90's and batshit insanity post 9/11
+supersmashbro596 sadly, even 'The Dark Knight Returns' had some terrible and offensive moments, like when Batman says that anyone who uses a gun is a coward... yeah, Batman just called SOLDIERS cowards. Bleurgh.
Not to mention that he himself picked up a machine gun in the famous "I believe you" scene.
+Tareltonlives Which is really depressing cause this art is gorgeous (when not showing scenes that make you face palm). Such a waste of talents.
+Igarappappa don't worry, you can see the gorgeous same artstyle paired with a great story in 'Batman: Hush'.
Is the comic where Joker kicks Red Skull's ass good? That sounds pretty interesting!
that description should tell you.
the answer is yes.
How the hell do you not have the Joker smile!?!? Frank Miller should be banned from comic writing until he seeks mental help. Also Jim, your art is great, never waste it on Miller's mad ramblings again.
The thing about Miller Batman and his frequent posturing as being the smartest man in the room and looking down on everyone else is that it's actually a rather realistic depiction of what a guy with that much baggage and that much training would be like... but it only really makes sense for Batman as an older man, and only marginally as a relatively fresh and new hero. Having been through so much, having seen terrible, awful tragedy time and again to the point where seeing his enemies do something heinous before he comes in and puts them in jail becomes routine, it's rather natural that he'd become more violent towards his enemies, more belligerent with his former allies for not seeing things the way he does, and overall more bitter, cynical, angry and pushy. However, with how downright insane and bloodthirsty Crazy Steve is in this book, I have a hard time believing he would let himself relapse into this kind of behavior, given he seems to start realizing what he's doing is fundamentally wrong to some kind of degree towards the end of the series. His actions are more befitting a jaded, angry, broken person like he is in Dark Knight Returns than a fresh and probably relatively idealistic crimefighter he would be at this point in time.
That's not really fascism as much as a sort of soft objectivism, where objectivism means ayn rand's cult of personality. But you probably get that/got that. But that's also how a lot of characters make sense - the wonder woman in this series reads like Dagny Taggart, Rand's self-insert in Atlus Shrugged. In fact most of this bad writing is bad in precisely the way Rand's writing was bad.
Am I the only one who's hoping for a Zach Snyder film adaptation of *Batman: Ass Bar*?
Wait, I am? Okay, never mind...
They should have the same cast but everyone should be drunk out of their minds XD
I honestly want to see this as a animated adaptation.
This fuckfest _must_ be exposed. Especially to those who mindlessly worship Miller.
That has to be one of my favourite joker moments, when he does a temporary heel-face turn and they squirt each other in the face with evil crud.
You know...reading these panels of batman calling out GL on how "uncreative" his constructs are like how mousetraps are stupid and how flashlights are SO boring I have to wonder something, Batman probably wouldn't be any different if he had the ring either except probably a few more bat logos on things because of course brand recognition. Im sure people would like to believe they are more creative with the ring but the thing is the ring was meant for battles and in battles there is not that much time to go "HOLD ON! I gotta visualize something really cool to punch you instead of a giant green fist" Kyle gets a pass because as an artist he is already capable to on a dime mentlly sketch out the image in his head before putting it onto paper...I had a point here somewhere
+Brainiac356 why does he even need to make construct, just set the thing on blaster, tractor beam or healing ray no need to throw a train made of light

LEX LUTHOR: That is a three syllable word too big for little minds.
LINKARA: (Groans) Oh for the love of.... All Star Batman and Robin IS an influence on Zack Snyder. (Sighs) Pretty sure that R cut did have Nazi boob lady in it. I mean why not at this point?
Well Frank Miller's name was the top of the thank you spot in the end credits.
+Niall Hagan Well he referenced it . Remember Batman conversation with Hal in the yellow room: "we are criminals we have to be criminals" that was in Bvs. Admittedly that started in dk2 but still that was also a very hated comic. So it seems Snyder will use anything relate to Miller despite its quality.
@Tanner Hutchings Maybe modern day Miller but Zack Snyder admitted to being a huge fan of Miller's earlier work and has specifically said one of the things that got him into comics was The Dark Knight Rises as he liked the deconstructive elements of the text more then standard super hero movies and you can tell that by his movies especially Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice that takes a lot of influence from The Dark Knight Returns. Hell Zack even said he always wanted to do a full TDKR movie because of his love of the material.
I refuse to believe this isn't the Dark Multiverse. Crazy Steve is Batman's fear he's crazy.
The Joker never smiling is like Superman experiencing delusions of grandeur: just plain wrong.
Something tells me Frank Miller would be a huge fan of Katsuki Bakugo from My Hero Academia. :P
Now I can’t get All Might forcing Deku to eat a rat (Nezu) to inherit One for All out of my head
@@CNWhatImSaiyan Or him yanking Izuku's bunny mask over his eyes and telling him that he's not "Dekiru" (To Be Able To), but rather "Deku" (Good for Nothing).
You Fool! The Dragon tattoo was probably meant to be a nod to Thomas Harris. Red Dragon anyone?
+Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall Also: there's a shot where he DOES smile. You panned over it in one shot.
Pete Hill It doesn't make this comic any better.
"They call me the Joker. But I'm not very funny." Is to me, the funniest thing in the entire comic because it shows just how BACKWARDS everyone is.
Just to add to Linkara's "Might for Right" argument, "those who are powerful should do good things" so that those actions will lead to more positive outcomes and relations among society and the world at large.
The clown with the dragon tattoo.
Linkara, maybe the lawyer doesn't run away because she believes that the joker will 100% kill her if she tries. She think she still has a chance if she calms him down and talks to him. That being said, she should've recognized the clown at the bar.
+Eamonn Deane That's what I was thinking. Guess Frank Miller doesn't like Harley Quin so he made someone like her to kill her. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if that was the case.
+Christopher Caldwell
i think the better question is, does the lawyer have a clown fetish? how did these two end up post coitus? it's not even about recognizing him as the guy that tried to gas politicians, as far as she knew he was a clown or a albino with gimmick, either way, it's a bizare backstory for this fan service sexual violance insert frankie loves
I'd consider that, if it was written by someone who isn't insane
Christopher Caldwell Thing is...Joker wouldn't kill her, he *hates* people that target children. Hell, they can't lock people that hurt kids in Arkham because he either kills them, gets others to do it, or manipulates them to suicide. So a lawyer with a hate on for child molesters would be someone he would like.
Another good comic that talks about a city is The Question miniseries from 2005 where his power revolves around being able to speak to the city in a one-sided and feel the different energies it radiates.
So, is it a rule that any Joker with tattoos is bad?
Yes.
Is it possible that Ben Affleck is really portraying Crazy Steve in BvS?
Actually Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman is a little more reserved and not insane.
He’s Crazy Steve on his meds.
16:55 Linkara, when something is radioactive enough to glow, it glows blue, not green. The glow is called Charenkov Radiation. You mostly see it in the cooling pools in nuclear reactors. Or in places like Chernobyl.
So, would the hulk be... blue?
+Tony Davis (Battlion50) Well it glows blue IRC. Obviously in the DCU and MCU, Charenkov Radiation is green.
Hmph, then I'd bet someone will make radiation PINK!
+Tony Davis (Battlion50) Careful, too much pink energy is dangerous.
Alexander Fix You know what, lets make radiation... Rainbows. An irradiated crayola crayon box set. That'll get the kids!
Strange, I always thought you were a hedgehog who reviewed anime. My apologies Mr. Badger.
6:39 - That clip usage is just pure perfection :3
the worst thing is the hood is a marvel superhero so frank either stole his name or was just mean spirited
I kinda want Linkara's outfit because he's impeccably dressed. Also, a badger reviewing late night shows sounds hilarious.
Linkara is actually an orange Hipponoceros who reviews Happy Meal Toys. It's a great show.
11:18 UWE BOLLLL...wait. Sorry Linkara, I meant... FRANK MILLLEEEERRRRR!!!!
Another thing about the cover: the way the dragon tattoo is laid out. What tattoo artist would make a dragon tattoo that takes up the entirety of someone's back and have the bottom of it snake along the arm of someone? Usually an artist would make it so it only takes up either the arm or back.
mighty reviewing ninja badger! defeater of the mighty miller manbad!
no, I am not high! just crazy. like a never smiling joker.
+Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall 23:26 I know this review's been out for a while, but in the first volume of Grant Morrison's run on Batman and Robin, there's a point where Dick tells Damien that Bruce advised against having hoods. He even used the same logic that Bruce does here, saying his "hood's a blindfold" before pulling it over his eyes.
Damien immediately incapacitates him, saying he was trained to use his other senses in case his sight was compromised. What a bamf.
Damien Wayne, age 10; my second favorite Robin
watching this has brought me to a very serious conclusion.... I really want some hostess fruit pies, cherry flavor.
I just realized something. I think Miller may have intentionally swapped Batman and the Joker. Joker is such a brilliant foil for batman because they both approach despair and loss in different ways. Batman chose to embrace duty and protect people. Joker chose to embrace hedonism and destroy society. But what if they swapped personalities, Hedonistic Batman enjoying crimefighting, and Joker seeing it was his duty to destroy society.
OK, show of hands, who wants to see DC do a comic in which Batman fights Crazy Steve. It'd be a gas! A deranged hobo accidently finds his way into one of Batman's bases (maybe during a power surge or something), steals an old costume and weapons, then runs around Gotham insisting he's "the G-ddamn Batman," kidnapping kids, laughing like the Joker as he maims and kills people, calling everyone a moron, and rambling to HIMSELF like a FILM NOIR character while EMPHASISING random WORDS. Then, Bruce Wayne breaks his nose.
Then maybe Bonkers Betty could get a dose of reality from Wonder Woman.
Purple rain. RIP Prince.
