I used to hear them by my house near tower grove park and the botanical garden but now I don’t anymore. It’s somewhat of an outdoorsy-touristy area. I would say that they are important, especially for folks who visit from areas that don’t experience tornados.
Agreed, I've always thought this..
You can hear the Because they are Whelens at 400Hz which is a garbage tone.
More like you can't hear them because they didn't do any maintenance on them. If you don't maintain something, it will break
Whelen cant find its batteries 💀
Yep, ya just gotta' know SOMEBODY is gunna make big bucks reinventing something that was done for nix in WWII. Just like Boeing passing off starliner as something new when Apollo did it pretty much EXACTLY the same but with LESS.
Shouldn't of replaced the thunderbolts
They never had thunderbolts. They had STL10s until the current sirens were installed in 1999. These will probably be replaced next year.
@@matthewherbert8875 yea they did
@@1000BT no they did not. St Louis County which is a separate system from St Louis City's had thunderbolts in their system but St Louis City never had them. Ever.
If you dont maintian the sirens, they wont perform well. Simple as that
