Those animations of him make me hope that maybe in the future, this game gets dlc and Spade becomes playable like he was meant to be way back when FP1 was being developed.

If nothing else, those Wing Gliders were re-implemented courtesy of modders in a fully functional format, so they got their wish in the end.

Wing Gliders (aka the Super Dragon Boost) is not actually
implemented into the game itself as a post-game unlockable. =(
Whoever made this clearly loved making it. No wonder it took 7 years, they didn't want to stop!

I like how the comments are feeling bad for Spade and the other male characters in the game not being playable then I’m just vibing to the Galaxytrail exhibit theme.
It's cool how everything would turn out, but you know, tight schedule, so a lot of stuff went unused, but it's cool how it would be

I mean, it is a funny recollection of that, because you can cause Spade to try to reveal about Dail first in Freedom Planet 1 but stops part way of saying Shuigang just with the letter s before stopping short of Dail's role in FP1, and then Spade makes an funny remark of himself. Then Lilac says it for Spade since him saying it is considered a blooper.

A pity that Spade wasn't playable in FP2.
They already screwed him up as it is, in FP1.
The least they could do, is make him playable in FP3. Alongside Merga.

Why does every scrapped power-up is, literally, a much more better and interesting idea than the actual power-ups we have in the final game?
Why did we get stuck with a soft RPG-deal, that boils down to how willing you are to get through a stage without amping your base stats/giving yourself the CHARACTER DESIGNED power-up to make it easier?
It doesn't help that each and every stage 'resets' the character. Freedom Planet is supposed to be an action-adventure, like Sonic, which the Adventure games gave the powerups to the characters to help them out in a special way or so.
Taking that all away constantly is not good game design because the upgrades are essentially the rewards to make it feel like the player has accomplished something significant in terms of progression.
Additionally, the scrapped Star Fragments would had been nice to enhance the upgrade to make it more effective but you know.

Male characters are never playable in Freedom Planet games
When I saw the gallery for myself I was baffled that Spade was cut out from assisting you in Sky Bridge and Dojo rematch despite all his animations being done. I would love to have a classic Spade fight in FP2 in the same style you fought 1st phase of Serpentine in Snowfields.

Well, I think there is a mod for FP1 where you can play as Torque. It’s a shame though that he’s isn’t mentioned a single time in the entire game.☹️
I hope he returns in Freedom Planet 3.

@@oznelnavnaekal6679 If you use Cheat Engine you can play as Spade, but only in a few stages apparently, also he has no lines
