Thank you for this as this is happening quite regularly with the Simplex, for the reasons you gave. My most frustrating one is flipping the clod on top of the still buried target so the additional soil stops the signal. took me ages to work out, put the clod back, oh, the signal is over there!!! I hope you are well and I miss your regular videos.👍👍😉
Hey SG well done video. The anomaly you referred to where there is a bit of metal still intact and then breaks up once the soil is disturbed and the signal is lost is called the "halo effect".
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I love any help you can give me!
@Zachary Alonzo thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I've had this issue and it usually turns out to be small copper wire, earth colored lead shot or small rusty nails. I usually spend too much time trying to finally find the target, but in the end I'm determined to know what it was.
Excellent tutorial Lori. If it's any help. after failing with hand held P Pointer, before levelling clods, raise coil, hit and hold MD's pin-point button/trigger to go all metal, lower coil gradually whilst swinging steadily..... If it's an iron infested area totally ignore my suggestion. Nice bead, if it's a bead, it looks old. Glean those tatties! HH
Great idea Tim, thank you. I really appreciate when all you Gurus contribute your collective knowledge. I'll give the pinpoint a try on my next disappearing signal in a non iron infested field. :) We had some of the smaller potatoes for tea that night- they were totally yummy. Nice perk of the job 👌
Hello, Guru, appreciate the tips! My question has to do with the massive sensitivity difference between levels 6 and 7 with later versions. I'll have a deep squeaker at level six, barely audible, level up to seven to clarify it and suddenly there are deep coin signals all over the place (not), rarely repeatable. I guess one of these days I'll experiment with the maximum sensitivity, dig every great signal that suddenly appears and see what I've got, but they've tended to ghost me. I dig in very junky areas with hugely mineralized soil, may be a challenge for it or any detector. I find Park 1 gives clearer distinction between bottle caps and coins, while Park 2 can act just like my AT Max in all metal mode, signals are a bit "dumber", more easily tricked. I get very few clear signals at more than 4" at level 6, coins are whispers at 6", but when I turn on level 7, all of a sudden I've got apparent coin hoards at 8-10 inches... it seems not to be a very gradual switch in sensitivity. More of a complaint than a question?
Thanks Tacos- yours is a tricky one. I suspect the jump to sens 7 is too much for the detector on your soil and its falsing. Do you run an SP24 coil? That would be my 1st recommendation. You will get so much more separation. If you are running the sp24, then I'd certainly try to dig out the crazy signals at least once. On my Real/slag field, and in my coal field, there are lots of crazy, great sounding signals. But I can hear the difference when I multi direction them. I would go nuts with the stock coil trying to isolate them. I guess let's start with what coil you have- then we will see what the great folk on here think about how to tackle the problem :)
@@treasurehuntingnewyork5979 Hi guys, thanks for your replies;) I'm running stock coil with v2.77 in soil that balances out at 94. Love the mute and deeper sensitivity, just find she absolutely loves bottle caps, rusted or otherwise. I have not got used to field mode yet, as I have to keep my eye glued to the VID, signal sounds being based on depth instead of conductivity... I toggle between park 1 and 2, with a preference for park 1's better ID. Any help appreciated;)
Can you do a tutorial on finding a thin gold chain someday? maybe a straight chain and a curled up chain, one on the surface and then one at an inch deep.
I'll need to find, purchase, or borrow a gold one- but good idea! And check on a beach too. I'm sure folk also find them there. :) I only have silver, lol.

@Zachary Alonzo It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
@Weston Josue No problem =)
Nice tips My friend, i do the same Thing and that finds most of the things but not All of course

Handy tips and free chips great stuff Thanks
Thanks for this!

Good tips as usual from Lori.Great work.

Kind of like when your friends disappear when you need their help, same thing.
Great information :)
Very helpful thankyou....)
Great Video!
It happened to me one time and I kept on looking and it was a deep target till I found it, it was a stitching needle.

What exact version do you have installed if you don’t mind me asking
Hi NY- me or Tacos? I have 2.77. :)
The Simplex Guru I apologize was asking the other commentator I feel like There are significant differences between the versions

great video
That is a tipthat will help otthers that use it
could be on your spade
Yup, did cover that one, or stuck in cleat of boot. Have to scrape it off spade to check- mine would scream if I put the pinpointer near it, lol. :)
Is a F3 12khz
Are you asking what kHz the Simplex operates on when on f3 frequency? :)
Yes I’m not sure f3 is 12 KHz frequency
I shall find out!
Waffle!!!!!
