    Hey pilots! Tricker here and I want to welcome you to my channel on combat aviation. I'm a real world pilot in the Airbus 319/320/321 series and I enjoy DCS World, Falcon BMS, Falcon 4.0, IL-2 Sturmovik, X-plane 11, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
    If you want to fly WWII aircraft over Normandy and the English Channel, then DCS World WWII is for you and they have plenty of aircraft to choose from such as the BF-109, FW-190, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt, and P-51 Mustang. If you enjoy modern aerial combat then you want to focus more on DCS World products such as the F-16, A-10C Warthog, AH-64D Apache, F-15, F-14, JF-17, SU-27, Mirage, Mig-29, F-18 Hornet, Mi-8, Mi-24 Hind, Uh-1 Huey, Ka-50, F-5, Mig-21, AV-8b Harrier, and the F-4 Phantom. Some of the mods that are out there for DCS World are the F-22 Raptor, SU-57, A-4 Skyhawk, Rafale, and Gripen.
    I enjoy other games such as Total War, Battlefield, War Thunder, Escape from Tarkov, as well as Squad.

    I love the effort ED has put into the WW2 stuff, it's brilliant.
    Interesting thing about the Mustang is that it was built by NAA specifically for Britain, and then afterwards for the Americans

    • @ThomasHendrickson
      @ThomasHendrickson 5 месяцев назад

      It was originally built as a dive bomber, and it used to Allison engine. The only British thing about the Mustang is the Rolls-Royce Merlin of the later models.

      I'm a seasoned dogfighter with the mustang so I can shed light on what I know there. The P51shines the most at high level dogfighting (over 18K feet). Maintain your energy with it. Get it to 300+mph and maintain that. It does not like to fight under 250mph. When in a turn fight, especially at lower altitudes I drop the flaps a minimum of 1 notch, no more than 2, especially when your a flat turn fight with a 109. Depending on how fast I'm flying and how I'm fighting I sometimes leave flaps up. Mainly when I am energy fighting at very high altitudes. At high level fights, I push it up to 300mph with flaps up energy fight bandits (usually escort missions). The 51 will take dives well too but be very easy on the stick and maneuvers. Its not a P47, so sudden pulls or turns at 400+mph almost always rip the wings off. Most 190 pilots know this and will lure you down in a high speed spiral dive to try and get you to rip the wings off. If i'm not right on him approaching 400mph and pull away and use my energy to stay above him. If he wants to fight, let him come to you and bleed off his energy, the 51 climbs quick with a smooth gentle pull back up to 2000-3000ft per minute climb angle. I dogfight more so than ground attack, so I run default ammo to have tracers. As far as fuel, if I plan on escorting bombers, I leave with about 78-80% fuel, use center tank for take off, and most of climb, leave 10 gals in it and switch to wing tanks. 10 gals for emergency return flight and sometimes makes the plane more balance. Atleast it feels that way to me. Once your at altitude run it at top of greens for best fuel economy( which i think is 35 inches manifold, and around 2400rpm.) Last, watch your oil temp and radiator temp on the climbs. I open my oil cooler and coolant rad periodically during a hard climb to altitude to keep it in the greens or slightly below.
      I hope this helps. Im no expert, but these are the things that i've learned fighting with the P51 daily.

    Considering, that a landing is in fact, a controlled crash, then sir I dare say jolly good, what what, bobs your uncle, wonderful landing lol. Granted, your plane isn't technically where it's supposed to be lol but it is not completely destroyed and is at the airfield, just more by the front gate than you know, the runway. Awesome video.

    Good video. Good lesson learned. Adjust your approach so that if the fan stops you can make the landing. On speed on altitude-landing assured. You did the doctor killer... You may have seized from battle damage, but you get the point. If unknown possible battle damage do the P.E.L. precautionary emergency landing. Ditch the SHB-as you saw, and take a position over the runway so that no matter what you can make the landing. Think it's a namby way out? Na-ah-space shuttle landings were all PEL's. Now they may start the approach at 150,000 ft, but the principle is the same. One big descending circle.

      Always learning in aviation. The overhead break was for entertainment more than IRL procedures as this was from a stream but valid points. Was a surprise when it seized up so dropped it in a field.
