Yeah, ours does too, but it's been so long since we've played it, and we don't really read the rules to it anymore, the little things like that slipped us by.
How does your channel not have more subscribers?! You've got great quality videos, from the editing to the interaction between all of you and the camera. I enjoyed it, great job!
Golem edition all the way! The art is nicer and I prefer the token holders that fit together over the bowls. Both are excellent though. There is a beauty in its simplicity, much like Star Realms. I like Splender too, but Century is a better game. It's seems to me that people that like Century prefer more puzzley elements in games, whereas those who prefer Splendor tend to like player interaction more. This is probably why I prefer Century, it's more dynamic; you have to change your tactic according to the state of the game. In Splendor, I have a set strategy. So, what other players do does not effect me very much.
Maybe that's it too, Splendor is a much more solitary experience, at least when I play, with other player's moves being largely irrelevant. It's hard to talk about this game though without mentioning it with so many similarities between them.
Wrong about the first player marker as others have said it’s the crystal on one of the gold caravan cards, unless your edition didn’t have this.100% right about the engine point. If you are the first to finish your engine you should be the winner. Despite other players being scooped having a decent engine finished 2 or more turns usually wins you the game.
6:20 Zing! You mention Tapestry which only has those expensive minis-in-place-of-polyominos because it inspired Jamey to design the game. The less expensive minis (outposts and income buildings) can be almost excused. But the more relevant zing is right behind you on the same shelf: Vindication. As far as I can tell, without the expansion, the only mini in that huge box you use IS the first player marker, which is missing from the Century series. Lol!
No, just one copy of Century Golem Edition. We also have Century Eastern Mountains Golem Edition in the background, and the blue vertical Century box is the shipping box for the orginal Golem Edition, it was too pretty to throw away. So when we store it, it's a box in a box.
My copy has a first player marker on one of the caravans. I love when those or reference cards select the first player by passing them out.

Petty sure the first player marker is a small image on your caravan card

Thanks! We try to keep things as 'normal' as possible. Usually we just pick a game, turn on the cameras and see what happens.
