Ooh, I think I suggested this soup, too. Another of the world's best and most comforting soups, especially since it is so easy to make, with just a few ingredients.
Mansoor, "I can't express in words" the feeling of this soup. "I just felt the taste." That is the very definition of comfort food, right there.
My dad used to make this for me when I was young (though he used the more available onions back then instead of leeks). He learned it from his mother, who was of Welsh extraction (the leek is the national symbol of Wales). Grandma grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, with her many siblings, and Welsh parents who'd come from there late 1800s/early 1900s. Now I continue to make this soup (with leeks) for self and loved ones. I add milk or cream, and some American cheese slices for added richness. Have some in the fridge now, which I just might have for lunch.😉😋

Mansoor, that would be a nice business in the winter as the thick potato soup will warm people up.

This type of soup can be served cold (Vichyssoise) and considered to be fine dining. Cold style was a favorite of Julia Child who published books on cooking French cuisine.
On a side note this soup cold and gazpacho are among my first soups when learning cheffing.

I love making & eating potato leek soup. Mansoor is absolutely correct. In one word - DELICIOUS!
My favourite soup I hope you get to enjoy is classic French Onion soup with gruyère cheese dripping over the sides of the bowl.

Onions, green onions/spring onions, shallots, leeks, chives, all have similar taste, just in varying stages of strength, texture, pungency and appearance. Leeks, chives, onions, and garlic are all in the Allium family. Leek & Potato soup is more filling than it appears.

Smashed, Roasted Potatoes are tasty. Cottage pie has mashed potatoes in it and is also very good. Cheesy Scalloped potatoes and Cheese and Broccoli Soup are excellent if you get a chance to try them. We make Italian minestrone and Lentil Soup in our home quite a bit. This was a fun video to watch, thanks for sharing!

we almost always dip small pieces of buttered bread in soup. It is almost soup season here.. A true winter comfort food. Strangely I didn't like soup as a child.

    Some other things to try:
Tortellini en brodo (filled tortellini pasta in clear chicken broth, often with a little diced tomato, and maybe a sprinkle of grated Parmesan or Romano cheese over the top).
Lentil soup (I make mine with onions and carrots cut up tiny, so all the solid bits end up the same size once the lentils plump up.) It's good made with a ham bone broth as the base, but you might try substituting smoked turkey neck or wing instead, or other smoked meat. Or chicken broth. Or just make a straight vegetarian version.
Greek avogolemono soup. A thick egg, lemon, and rice soup in chicken soup base. I make mine by first boiling up chicken wth onion, carrot, celery, salt, black peppercorns, a garlic clove and bay leaf. Cool, de-fat, strain out the solids, bone out the chicken into chunks to add back in later when the soup is nearly done. Reheat the broth, add rice to cook in the broth (around half cup of rice to 2 quarts broth). Meanwhile, mix cornstarch into milk (2 tablespoons into 2 cups milk), then add beaten egg yolks (6) and mix together. (There are other recipes that don't use cornstarch as a thickener/stabilizer, but I like this version better, as its less likely to curdle/scramble, and also easier to reheat any leftovers for same reason.) Separately, squeeze enough lemons to make about a cup of juice. When rice is nearly cooked, add in chicken to reheat in the soup. When rice is done, take pot off heat, add milk/egg/cornstarch mixture, stir quickly so you don't get scrambled eggs, then return to heat and stir until thickened. Mix in the lemon juice right at the end, and half a stick (1/8 lb) of butter, too, for extra richness. Garnish with chopped parsley (or you can mix it in right at the end, if you're not planning to have leftovers). Also really good with a garnish of lemon zest.

When I first saw this, I was not completely awake and I thought I was hallucinating this video. It's so weird compared to what I've seen before. This soup isn't very popular in the western world but it's a favorite of mine and I play some farming games where you can make this soup after harvesting your leeks and potatoes. I honestly thought I was having a hallucination because of the bright colors and fun atmosphere. How can my favorite react channel be eating one my favorite soups and looks so inviting..? Like a dream... 😅 I did not write this comment until I watched it a second time because I thought I was losing my mind and needed to be sure it was real. 😂

You haven't met hashbrowns yet! OR sweet potato fries! Broccoli cheese soup is lovely, too. Egg drop soup...you should try that, you can certainly make that in your own home. Clam chowder...both Manhattan style which is red & tomato based, and New England style which is white & cream based.
