I actually think these two would do pretty well on an island. After all they can eat pretty much anything. I can just imagine Rhett bringing a tarantula over and splitting it then handing it to Link being like “alright man this is all I could catch today, dink it and sink it”
Salad after the meal is also an italian thing :) At my grandmother's house for special dinners we would always do this: appetizers like cheese/salami and crackers, pasta and meatballs with bread, meat course (usually pork), salad, desert (usually cake with smaller accompaniments). We only did all these courses for birthdays or holidays. But even on normal visits there would be at least appetizers, pasta, salad, and desert.

I have taken a course on winter survival in college and a few lessons in army cadet. I had the opportunity to practice it with cadets and school on solo and duo overnight expeditions. My choices would be: 1) Flint and steel (very frustrating way to start a fire but the most efficient long term and just really try and keep the fire going) 2) Water purification system 3) Knife 4) Lg seine net (for fishing) 5) Emergency blanket that doubles as a reflective signalling device 6) Pot for gathering rain water/cooking.
No no no! Flint and steel it lasts longer than a lighter if you know how to use it properly don’t let link use it you’ll be there for hours

Knife and axe great choice but fire is one of the most important thing and a great moral boster maybe a flint and steel also a tarp and probably rope and a mess tin (square pan) for water sterilization and transportation and cooking food (you can sterilize water whith out a fliter by boiling it.)
The fife can be attached to a stick to make a spear
You could also carve spoons
(And yes chickens do lay everyday unless unwell most of the time.)
Finally listened to this today! The island part is hilarious! Oh my flavours! 😂😂😂 Especially when Rhett begins laughing..who can resist that?
I wouldn’t call myself a survivalist but I have casually studied about that kind of stuff. So my 6 items would be a longer bladed knife with a sharp point for all cutting tasks. Then I’d bring a big ferrocerium rod for a fire starter. Then I’d bring a big tarp for shelter, a pot for boiling water and cooking, a big spool of tarred bank line and then I’d spoil myself and get a set of fish hooks.
Ax
Water purifier
Med kit
Striker (flint and steel)
Recurve bow 30 arrows
SAT phone.

You could burn the water and get the salt out with a pot and a lighter. You’d have a lighter for fire water heat and you’d have a pot for food and stuff
I'd go with a blowtorch Instead. it has alot more butane and has more "fire power" it'll last a lot longer if you conserve the butane. and you could still use the igniter after the butane runs out.
Axe and knife are great choices. Depends on the climate for the lighter, if it's hot and dry and there is a lot of dry tinder available you'd be able to figure out a friction fire before too long (especially if you've seen someone use the bow and drill method before). I think you're missing a big stew pot. You can purify your water with it, cook anything you can scavenge/hunt with it, and make lots of broth.
Also, instead of a net, go with a big coil of rope. You can make your own net and still have lots left over

In the States, Eggs and Bacon for breakfast supposedly became a thing after a store owner spread propaganda on tv to increase sales with fabricated medical evidence that that sort of food combination is the best food to start the day with.

Instead of a lighter you should bring one of those little flints because it would never run out of fuel and is easy to use to make a fire.

For anyone wondering, if you have to choose only six items, make sure you choose these: knife, axe, stainless steel container, Ferro rod, cordage (Paracord) and a pocket mirror (signaling for rescue).
Personally I don’t think it’s a good idea for parents to set strict limits on devices like one hour a day for many reasons. A lot of kids draw creativity from watching RUclips and playing games and stuff. Now I personally don’t play video games (I haven’t in a long time before the quarantine), but I still am on my phone a lot talking to people and watching videos that are helpful. Pretty much what I mean is not all screens are bad.
If a yacht breaks the rules of the exercise, a survival book would make a great 6th item
for the switch you can make it shut off after it exceeds the limit

I know quit a lot about survival and your first five choices were OK, instead of an axe and a knife I would bring a machete and the water filter I like that... good choice, OK lighter it's an OK choice but I know how to make a fire out of just natural materials so ya. Net um that's OK I like your reasoning for being able to catch stuff boar, pig, chicken anything like that so if you or anyone else were in a real survival situation take the logistics into account but overall I think with your will power and your guys positive attitude I think you would have been able to manage

Don't kill all the pigs, farm them make them livestock because then you have food, and pig hide for blankets, clothing, etc. If you are really lucky there will be goats and then you have goat milk

@@PlatoonGoon I never said it would be easy. But after some time you're gonna have to learn. You can't use up a resource like that all at once. All I'm saying is that in an ideal scenario you could find the right materials to keep some pigs alive that can feed you and provide hides.
