  • “Mountain lions are learning to adapt to our increasing presence in nature, which sometimes results in the depredation of domestic animals, and a grim ending for both parties."
California Mountain Lions is an 8-episode mini-series illustrating the nature of mountain lions in California. Here, we hope to educate viewers on the importance of mountain lions to the ecosystem and what we can do to prevent their decline in our state.

I really liked this episode! It's so true, they are just acting on instinct for survival. Great job!

    Exceptional episode!
Honestly, in the last 5 years I've seen more mountain lions than I can count on one hand. It breaks my heart because THEY DON'T WANT TO BE SEEN. THEY DON'T WANT TO BE AROUND HUMANS. THEY'RE RUNNING OUT OF SPACE TO LIVE, TO EXIST.
When I think about the mountain lions reality or I put myself in its place... I feel sick.

Yep just like you explained about pets you must understand that when that lion forgets who the true Apex is when it comes in contact with a man and does not run and makes the mistake to look at me as a meal I defend myself and I do it as painless as possible so don’t judge me for doing what I have always done to survive lol

This lady say democratic way . If you listen to her she has no pets she would throw her own kids in jail. These animals are beautiful and deserve a chance at living they don't hurt us other animals. So let them have a chance . And your pets to our take care of you bring in at night you watch them and you will not have a problem. And sorry if that is harsh . I had my cat for 20years at first he was outside and in at night , but for reasons I start to keep inside and he was safe this is how it is out in country . I love all cats big and small . If they hang out you have to get those things from Cabela's it has a shot gun shell and it's covered the mountain lion , deer or bobcats will walk over a trigger far enough away but will scare them and they will stop hanging out it is not cruel it is ok it will not hurt them and they will stay away .

I have always kept my cats inside. They are much safer inside too begin with for other reasons as well. In close livestock in barn or other structure. The responsibility lies with us too protect ur pets or livestock. In taking these and other actions we are protecting the wildlife as well. Mountain lions and coyotes are beautiful animals and great respect too them and other wildlife

I agree with all those people. If you have a problem with wildlife, get off the planet. I cannot stand anyone who complains or kills wildlife. The planet is not all about you,

Calm down hippies. Human life is worth more than a wild animal. Period.
