I am 59 years old postmenopausal woman. I never been healthier in my life just by not eating sugar, grains and most starchy vegetables. I learned that I have to get the probiotic and prebiotic from various non-starchy vegetables daily. I eat only two meals a day 16/8 IF. NO snack between meals only water, and unsweetened tea and coffee. The importance of IF is to activate MMC pathway of cleaning the gut and better absorption of nutrients that almost nobody talks about it except Autumn Bates.
May Far yes! I have SIBO and a lack of MMC may have caused this! So important to allow gut to rest and "clean."

I eat all kind of non-starchy vegetables. But I have seen better result by adding dandelion green and green plantain in my diet. I slightly sauté dandelion with garlic and onion. It is also has detoxification effect. @@judybelight8041
I have watched you guys for YEARS but never commented...as the joke punchline goes, "Everything was fine until now!" Well everything is still fine. But you brought up delicata squash. And it is in my top-10 favorite foods, easily! LOVE the stuff!! Could live on it. WHY is the season not longer???? Gotta go find my first of the season - today!

Matt - your tips on starting keto were a great reminder for me - I’m trying to get back on keto. Yup. The easiest thing to do is remove sugar, grains, and veggie/seed oils. Most people fail by trying to do it all at once, but taking steps in the direction of keto/low carb is better.
Why not just eat cardboard and drink water, I think it’s ridiculous when you deprive yourself of the great foods out there, do you want to lose weight and be healthy, try fasting. I eat one meal a day and I feel great and all my numbers are perfect. Enjoy life, what reasonable, but don’t deprive yourself or you will fail
@@rubenvargas3547 Bro, people have other reasons for doing low carb or keto that have nothing to do with weight. It’s a great way to get rid of autoimmune conditions, for example.

There's a book I just heard about, "Inviting the Queen" which explains the three phases of females. Trying to change from "crone" stage term to " queen." (I'm in the crone stage.) 🥴
I made a chicken salad yesterday that tasted similar to one I like to get from my local grocery store deli. After working in the garden all day I realized I forgot to eat. I took a chicken breast I'd poached earlier and diced it. I added a diced stalk of celery, a little diced onion, some avocado mayo, a tsp. of ACV, a little bit of chopped pecans and herbs from my garden: tarragon, thyme and some chives. Instead of dried cranberries, I added a little Swerve (I didn't know humidity makes it into a brick) to give it a little sweetness. Very tasty! I'll keep finessing the recipe, I think it needed more tarragon.

I love delicata squash…haven’t had any yet this season. Putting it on my list. Tonight I’m making beef shanks & short ribs in the crockpot with cauli-mash. Nut pods are the best! Cinnamon swirl is my favorite.

Back on Keto after having my first baby so trying to catch up on your content for the last year. Down about 7 pounds in a month but I know about half of that is water. Still feels good! you should have been at my house last week. We picked 19 lbs of San Marzano tomatoes off 6 plants. Made sauce, freezed some for soup but sadly a lot went to the compost pile.

Those sweet potato squashes are the best type. I cannot find them anywhere so far this fall.
Surprised they are eating peanut butter, since peanuts are grown on the ground which can have bugs on them and pesticides. But the Valencia peanuts are grown on top like a tree. So better for you. Costco use to have peanut butter pretzels. Of course the carb of pretzel isn't good( can't help it) but the peanut butter inside those pretzels was VALENCIA ! Now they changed that product and doesn't show with their new packaging of the Valencia peanuts.So, just a little info here that I found out.

If you’re going to buy vanilla beans go on eBay. You buy per pound there and get a ton for much cheaper than grocery stores.

(Harry) My problem with eating out is all the hidden stuff. I do like to go out though and tend to stick with places that I've had really good success with in the past. One place I like to frequent changed to a sauce on their naked wings that caused me all types of problems. I'm upset about it because that means I have to take another place off my list of places to go. This seems to be a growing trend. As the prices of food goes up the restaurants are reverting to even lower standard food to fight against rising prices. Yes, it's understandable because the majority of people going to their resturants are not watching what they are eating. But, it makes it harder for the rest of us...
My family needed food after an intense day of helping our grown daughter move. Went to kfc..huge mistake. Horrible meal I threw away. Nothing to eat out

i see more of megha in felix than i do in theo! megha, i'm totally with you on the not-doing-makeup-every-day (or really any day except special occasions lol) thing. BTW, i didn't realize matt was going low-FODMAP! which video did y'all discuss it in? i've had to cut out certain (thankfully not all) FODMAPs from my diet. having to cut out garlic and onions has been the biggest challenge. the crossover between keto/low-carb folks and low-FODMAP folks here on YT is pretty much nil, so i'll be excited to see how y'all approach it!

Why don’t you just go ahead and buy your blueberries frozen - because they’re pretty much freezing them as soon as harvested which would make them more fresh than yours bought in produce and then frozen anyway.

Just to add to what Matt says...if this is the first time you are trying to eat healthy just make it as simple as possible..unbreaded meat, eggs, and non starchy veggies..eat as much and as often as you need to get your body adjusted to non carbs and sugar. Eat diary in small portions. Eat good healthy fat to satisfy hunger. Avoid veggie oils and be sure to get lots of sodium, manesium and potassium. Simple. Dont try to make all these carb replacement dishes and overwhelm yourself. Once you get adjusted you can do all of that.
