Maya Narayan notice he said 'much more" meaning that he already respected woman but this just makes him respect them "more" than he already did. I see reading thoroughly is a lost art.
I did this years ago, after having locks for 4+ years, when I wanted to be loose natural. Took me a couple weeks because I did it myself but so many people did not believe me. I remember being on the naturally curly forum and asking for loose natural tips and the only thing people would say was that I was lying about taking out my locks. lmao Glad to see there is info out now so that people don't have to think it's not possible because I definitely was just taking a chance when I did it.
i think some people just don't feel like being patient with their hair, lol. even if someone's hair type is 4b/4c and it's loc'd, i'm sure patience would make everything go a long way. his hair is beautiful! and you're awesome for being patient and careful with it for him! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Has nothing to do with being impatient..some pep use the wrong hair products and their hair becomes locked literally with product and overly twisting ive been doing locks most of my life for others and some pep make harsh / permanent decisions
SACRED JASMINE lol. It mig hr be ppl who are used to doing their own hair. They would probably grab a local in the front and start helping! I probably would.😄
Mike Mike Johnson Yes because she took the patience and time to unlock his hair. This is a process that can take days so imma have to really love somebody in order to sit there and unlock their hair 😩
TmFBaBii I was thinking the same thing. Somebody figured out a way to get a lot of one on one time in, and looks like it’s working. Just don’t tell us he decided to get a bald fade after all that work. Lol
Wow, I really enjoyed this lock takedown video. I actually enjoy all videos that deal with lovingly caring for natural African hair. Our hair is so unique, special and versatile-- it inspires creativity! Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate the process and educate as well. I'm old school and had a lotta misconceptions about taking down locks, I thought the only solution was a big chop. I also thought the majority of the lock was dead, "unreusable" hair. Your explanation of shed hair getting caught up in the locks shattered that wrong thinking and made perfect sense. That's why I LOVE these RUclips natural hair videos, I learn so much and it promotes my love and appreciation for African hair. Great job and keep the videos coming my sister! 😄👍🌠🌍
My, my, my. Thank you for I will be combing out my 15 year old locs. I was preparing for the cut, but no more. Years ago a friend wanted to comb them out for me, and I thought she was bonkers. This is why I'm glued to RUclips. So much to learn. Thank you again. 😍😍
Good work coming from a professional cosmetologist. People always think they have to cut their hair. My husband and daughter have dreads and my daughter wants to get her dreads tooken out when she turns ten next year. I can't wait to start her process. She's had her dreads for going on 4 years now. Very good job keep up the good work. God bless you and yours😇
wow people are so ignorant and nit picky she explained herself so many times in this video when she shouldn't have to explain nothing except directions for how she takes out his dreads thanks for the upload I'm taking my bf dreads out too and this was truly helpful
Thankyou! It used to piss me off when people WITHOUT dreads would argue me down saying I had to cut all of my hair off to get rid of dreads 🙄 it just take patience which I didn't not have 😂 my locs were in the middle of my back, but in the middle of taking them down year before last I cut them to my neck to shorten the time. Even with cutting them it still took me about a week or so to do all of them!
I did locs as a protective style for 4 years and my takedown took 9 months. Worth it. I loved my locs. I loved the process. When I was ready I used a dental pick and cut off half my length because it was dyed and I didn't feel like taking care of dyed hair. My hair was waist length and it was still about bra strap after the takedown. It was a tedious process but the finished results made it worth it. I had fun 😊. Also great video! His hair is so strong!
I’m definitely going to just start over with my locs. I’ve had them for about 5 years and with so much stress going on in life...and my eczema, it’s harder keep my hair done . So, thank you for making this video❤️❤️❤️
That's why i prefer twists. Last time i had dreads it took 9 days total, with 2 to 3 hour sessions each day. I simply cannot sit that long unless i have a......"cigar" lol. Great video👌🏾👌🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Actually inspiring me to get dreads again. I cut them when I was 13 and it's been 7 years since I've gone without them. But when I had them my hair got so long. So I'm gonna do it again
What I learnt from this vid is that people ask STUPID questions intentionally and that's so sad. Why braid it up? Seriously?!! So leave it open for it to free form back into a dread?? 🤦🏽♀️. Better you than me for even addressing those folks lol.
Nelly lolllll! Yea it is pretty ridiculous I can understand 1 or 2 ppl asking me silly questions but all the questions I answered where frequently asked from multiple people lol
Naturally Curly ife360 TV yea I always wanted to respond to every comment cause I hate when other youtubers ignore me. But I get it now some ppl are just draining with what they choose to say to others and you just gotta curve that energy
The 1st time I had locs I cut it off and if I decide to get rid of my 10 years locs now I would cut off again. It just takes too long to be doing this besides I would have to do it myself. And yes you are correct about the dead hair because I'm forever picking at the ends to get rid of the build ups I see there
Wow so amazing !!!!! I have 2b/3b hair down to my back/butt and when it doesn't get brushed it locks and the day I wash I need a whole bunch of silicone conditioner indeed 🤓 awesome video to know you can comb out dreads from 5 yrs ago 🙌🏽💖
Great video on how to detangle locked hair!!! Fantastic Woman. Keep teaching and serving others. You have an abundant mindset. Much prosperity and wellth to you
I've had my locs for 17 year's I always thought I would have to cut my hair but now after watching this I want to attempt combing them out since I won't lose all of my length.
you are an amazing Queen he needs to keep you forever, you really love him this makes me feel so happy, anyone else would have given up,or tried to convince him to just cut his hair off, taking time with people shows that you really care, peace and blessings Beautiful Queen
That was an interesting video. I never new anyone who was able to comb out the dreadlocks after years of growth. Hair texture and locking method plays a big part. Thanks.
My sister, dad, and mother all had dreads but my sister was the only one who combed it out and when she did it was down to her but(note she had her locks in for about 5 years.bur if my mother combed out her locks which were at her butt already, her hair would be down to the floor. So if you do not want to wait a long time in growing your hair you can comb it out and it will be twice the size it is when in locks or maybe even triple the size
My hair tangles really easy my hair turns into dreads by itself in one day. The best thing to detangler I think will work better than what you are using is silicone mix leave in conditioner the white and blue bottle it’s amazing. I have use the conditioner you are using so I’m speaking from experience.
HairByPierre.....I had started Locs two years ago for a year and had taken them out last December of 2015 and my girl at the time used a curved needle as opposed to a comb, and that seemed to work faster. Maybe you could try that. The curved needle seemed easier to grip when wet, and seemed to be able to get through the loc easier.
My mom helped me loosen my dreads, it took like two weeks and a lot of sleepless nights lol. Only someone who really loves you would help do this lol My hair grew all the way to bra strap length in 2 years but it was extremely dry
lol it's funny you advised to not get dreads as a protective style but if you seriously want them but I'm at a wit's end with my hair! I don't want to perm it, I prefer to be natural and getting box braids, faux dreads .. I don't know :( this'll be another journey but it'll be fun and sure a lot of dedication
aGwEENapple yea go natural. If you need help on what to do my channel is dedicated to the care of natural hair and I have videos from when I first transitioned and all that
Me and my bf combed his out too it took FOREVER but he loves doing his hair now lol he had a lot of dead ends that had to be cut but his curls are super defined
byoung4eva1 it is and I'm speaking from experience... my hair is longer and healthier after pulling it out. it all depends on how u care your dreads. I used to oil my dreads everyday and deep conditioned them.
Stewie Moschino I did the same exact thing.. it wasn’t suppose to be a protective style ,but that’s what it turned into... and when I took mine down my hair was just 😍😍😍😍
HairByPierre you are always welcome, but you don't owe anybody anything you do not have to answer everything. You are giving an example of how you did it, everybody's results will differ.
Until I saw this I thought it was not possible to end your journey unless you cut off all your hair. My hair is thin not 4C so it will not look like his but it was interesting to see your work. Great share.
Your a good woman/girlfriend. Because this takes lots of time and patience. Nice vid. My mom wants to try to take one of mine out but I dunno yet if I want that.
I took my daughters dreds down. It took 2 months. No cutting and saved All of her hair!! Its a looong process but its worth it in the end. Her hair was very long n HEALTHY. SHE WAS ABOUT 7 AND HAD HAD THEM SINCE 2. She only kept them out a little less than a year. Weve since put them back in. Shes 10 now
Girl He need to make you his wifey because this is wife duties you are doing!! I know girl this is a long process with taking his hair loose!!He got alot of hair!! You go girl👍👍👏👏
Honeeeeee! You love that man cause I just couldn't take all that time to uncoil all those locks. I'd have arthritis but thanks for sharing. Truthfully didn't know you could unlock looks with this method without cutting.
Wow...learn something new every day....Are you a hair stylist??? I only ask because you seem to really know what you are doing...great job! And thanks for sharing.
I didn't know you could comb out locs. Our hair is so versatile it can do it all!
Winchesterthunder no the proper locs that the rastas have u can't come out. Trust me
Malika Saabira That's because they don't twist or anything, it's basically matted hair. Yet, I've seen matted hair come out. A struggle, but it does.
Winchesterthunder yeahh but those are the proper ones now the ones that people have are for fashion nowadays.
Winchesterthunder I thought if I would of gotton my locs I would never be able to see my loose hair again I just want long locs
Winchesterthunder if you are black and have real dreads (not gel cosmetic crap) this will rip your hair to shit.
the dog is paying attention like he's gathering tips and about to be grooming all the dogs in the neighborhood
Cinnnamon Toast Crunch lmaoooo!
Cinnnamon Toast Crunch I said the same thing... nice video
omg, this killed me.. i laughed so hard
😂😂😂😂😂
Cinnnamon Toast Crunch now I want some cereal
Yes you have been taking them out for a yr and half, but on the brighter side this honestly a testament to a long, healthy relationship. 👏👏
it's hard I have thin ones
@@amberconway684 just be patient and gentle and lots of conditioner!
oh so that was a literal statement? Wow. Oh please. coulda had someone else helping with that then. Wow.
They are related.. y’all nasty 😭 did you not hear her call him her brother like 8 times?
"Your texture has nothing to do with how long you can grow your hair... just so you know." Exactly.
Wow this whole time I was under the impression that you had to cut your hair, this is amazing!
thanks!
MiRanda Jones i think it depends on the hair type. this is not always possible
MiRanda Jones same
I believe it's possible for anyone's hair..it just may take longer depending on the hair texture.
+HairByPierre do u think if u keep in your dreads for like 5 years like he did and u take it down do u think your hair would be long ?
that takes a lot of patience.. I respect women so much more.... great video
The Man LB you should respect women already. Respecting us as much as you possibly can.
Maya Narayan chill
Maya Narayan notice he said 'much more" meaning that he already respected woman but this just makes him respect them "more" than he already did. I see reading thoroughly is a lost art.
angelofmercy21 feminist mode. You know that blocks out brain cells and thus they cant read properly.
haha!
A little tip. Add some coconut oil to the hair before you put the conditioner. Slip for days.
Lady's Things what does it do
@DA- IT HELP TO REMOVE THE DREADS SMOOTHLY....... SLIP FOR DAYS....:)
Thank god for this comment.
What a good conditioner
Thanks so much for your tip. You're a lifesaver the coconut oils works wonders.

Nelly lolllll! Yea it is pretty ridiculous I can understand 1 or 2 ppl asking me silly questions but all the questions I answered where frequently asked from multiple people lol
HairByPierre Wait someone asked you why you'd braided his hair up? lol... Um.... to get the loose hair out the way, of course. I can't. 😂😂😂
Nelly i LOLed when i heard that. 😂
Nelly you would be surprised by the questions people ask on RUclips, sometimes I have to step away and breathe...

Lake Thomas haha thanks! 💜
Thank you for this tutorial, next year I'm going to comb my dreads out and restart them, several of mine fell out for not taking care of it
The 1st time I had locs I cut it off and if I decide to get rid of my 10 years locs now I would cut off again. It just takes too long to be doing this besides I would have to do it myself.
And yes you are correct about the dead hair because I'm forever picking at the ends to get rid of the build ups I see there

wow! this was amazing to watch. he's lucky he has such a patient and caring wife!
I couldn't focus on anything but that cute doggie😭😍😍😍
It took me a full week to comb mine out 10 yrs ago. Mine were started with two stand twists and that made it a lot easier.
I would really like to see the end product . Keep updating !☺️
That was an interesting video. I never new anyone who was able to comb out the dreadlocks after years of growth. Hair texture and locking method plays a big part. Thanks.
He has really nice curls ❤️
Wow, I had no idea dreads could be taken out!! Thank you for teaching this old dog a new twist!👍😂💙
More power to y boo that looks so time consuming but she’s doing an excellent job
Beautiful hair dude, and a fine job this lovely patient lady is doing.
I uncombed mine. it took me 2 weeks & a few months recovery time with LOTS of deep conditioner/masques but it worked!
My sister, dad, and mother all had dreads but my sister was the only one who combed it out and when she did it was down to her but(note she had her locks in for about 5 years.bur if my mother combed out her locks which were at her butt already, her hair would be down to the floor.
