I clean my saw after every use. which is quite a lot at the moment. When I inserted my zero insert plate, I wound up the blade slowly and it worked perfectly. Keeping the inside of the saw clean is crucial, so that the blade lowers to its maximum... I'm just a mere woman 🤣🤣🤣
Guess i was lucky compared to your first attempt, mine wouldn't go low enough, but mine cut out straight away without flexing anything up like yours. Just switched back on and all good👍

@@Smallbarnworkshop That would suck as they clearly know the standard throat plate isn't good enough but they're still selling the saw, oh well, it'll have to be a 3d printed one

I thought your viewers would like to know that Evolution isn't offering the upgraded Insert Plate to folks in the United States. I contacted their support and they wouldn't even let me purchase one saying they can't ship to the USA. Very disappointed! I guess I'll try one of the many 3D printed designs on Etsy.

Had the same issue could not get the blade low enough so I have evolution mitre saw with smaller blade swapped them over made the cut and swapped back again
I have the same issue; blade not going low enough. I've been told by Evolution that it needs to be returned for the limit stop to be adjusted. They're expecting me to box it up for it to be returned. I think they're having a laugh! They even said that many people have the same issue and that they dismantle it and purchase a new box. Looks like I'll be buying a smaller disc.

Hi , thanks for this tip , but could you also advise on the table saw fence you have . As I have a rage 5 table saw and the rip fence is horrendous, yours looks much sturdier. Cheers ,

Yeah, I just tried to use the code for the clearance plate, but I got a message saying that it wasn't valid for the items in the basket. Whether the code has expired I dont know. But for the sake of £3, I've just bought it anyways ;). Great content sir!
Hiya JP, was wondering if i can leave my Saxton blade inserterd or do i have to replace the Evo blade back to make the cut. Guessing the kerf of both blades differ but my main concern is that the Saxton blade dont cut nothing but timber. Thanks.
This is a great idea with the replaceable inserts 👍, would be good if other manufacturers made them available, it was a fair bit of tinkering/fine tuning when I made one for my Dewalt.

Hiya JP. Nice bit of kit. Did the gaffer tape trick, worked for a short while then it started to peel back with the wood passing over it. Watched Thomas vids on this saw. Mine has to stay as a contractor's saw as I'm having to store it in the wee tool shed and set it up on the patio when needed. I did find the plate on the site but was informed your discount code isn't available. Will have gander tomorrow. Take care & stay safe M8.

Hi JP, i've been using one of these inserts for a while now and they are definitely better than the supplied orange one. I had same issue with first cut through as you and my dust collection area was empty, there's obviously very little space but if you're aware then it's no issue. Thanks for another good vid.

I always found that locking down the fence over part of the new insert, helps to keep it more stable when cutting the slot.
£60, I will stick with a 3d printed version for 10% of the cost. It also works perfectly

I’ve just got one of these and it won’t fit because the blade doesn’t retract enough, it keeps switching off
Yes its very tight in there. Have you cleaned the dust cover out below the blade? Regards JP

HI. It is the standard fence. I bought the saw in Oct 21 (in France) Not sure if they have changed the design before / after that date. Regards JP

Hi. This was made with my 80T Saxton. I wonder if the Evo blade may have been better for the first cut then widened with the Saxon (?) Regards JP
